I am in my late 50's and I didn't even start reading Harry Potter until after the third book came out. My granddaughter got me 'hooked on Potter,' and while surfing the net one day, I found a fanfiction site. That was it! My first story, "Renaissance," was published on Ashwinder a month later and I've been writing ever since. I am primarily a HG/SS shipper, but I also enjoy reading and writing RL/SS. I live in Tampa, Florida with my wonderfully adoring and supportive husband, and three completely spoiled cats. (Kallie, Mysha, and Smudge {who was the inspiration for the cat that Severus gives Hermione in my story "Renaissance."}) I'm always happy to correspond with my readers and I answer ALL reviews. I'm always looking for plot-bunnies, so feel free to throw some ideas out.
Reviews for The Best Laid Schemes
Very funny, even if they find a 'cure' I think they should get married. After all, who else would tolerate them?
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
Oh, I'm sure you'd find many who'd be willing to tolerate Snape! (We all love him, after all!) And since this is a MLF, I don't think I'm giving anything away when I tell you that they will, indeed, get married. I hope you enjoy the journey. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Great update! I like your Severus:-) Filius was brilliant by pointiong out the obvious, and I am still dying of curiousity about who the Coordinator is? Still has most of my money on Umbrigde, but have started to think that you migth surprise us all:-))I am very much looking forward to read more!
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
I hope it will be a surprise. I enjoy giving a personality to some of the characters that JKR created but sort of glossed over. I always 'see' Filius as very forthright, but with a sense of humour. (I'm not sure why I see him that way, but I just follow my instincts.)This story is completely written, and I'll be sending the next chapter along to SW soon. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
They really should file the thing. But this is fun.
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
They're really hoping to have their potions and charms perfected before they have to get married. It's a marriage of convenience, after all, isn't it??I'm happy to know you're having fun. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Great start to a story!! I'm looking forward to more and seeing the mystery solved!
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
I'm glad you approve. There are 13 chapters in all, and it's complete. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Cheers to Filius! I smirk with him about the no-love-match line. Aren't they just cute when they don't know what's good for them? From me, your story would also get a nice round sum of extra points for Ron bashing. Such a suitable person to play matchmaker.
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
Oh, there's still plenty of time for some Ron bashing, so don't lose heart!I enjoyed writing Filius here -- I'm glad you liked him. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Filius is the best. I loved his take on things.
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
I'm glad you like how I've shown him. I always see him as forthright, but with a great sense of humour. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Umbridge is behind this? Or Marietta Edgecombe?
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
Maybe ...Or maybe not! Please come back and find out. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Good, the ML mixed up with a dose of mystery.Good start into the story. I'm looking forward to more.
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
Mystery and romance -- a great combination! I'm glad you're enjoying. Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Great first chapter! Loved Severus's reaction to the article! Hope you update soon.
Author's Response: I'm glad you liked it. I so enjoy writing snarky, sarcastic Snape. The story is completely written and the second chapter has been submitted.
Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Very amusing, these two are putting their heads together and it's only a matter of time before they find out who their real foe is.
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
They won't find out for a bit, yet, but they will find out, I promise. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Hmmm, all for revenge on two people. What a wonderful villain you've created. I suppose Severus, Hermione, and Flitwick will not get any sleep for the next two or three months.
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
Nope, no sleep for weeks and weeks! Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Oh, how I love those Marriage Law fics...like Hostess cream-filled cakes, I just can't get enough of them! Poor Hermione and Severus, with the acceleration of the timetable, they're not going to have time to think--which is no doubt exactly where the mysterious Special Coordinator wants them. My vote's for Umbridge, but I'm biased. She's just so perfect as a villain, with no redeeming qualities. I will await the eventual unveiling with bated breath!
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
I've always enjoyed reading the Marriage Law fics, but I've never written one. I'm so happy to know you're enjoying my attempt. As stated before, I have no comment about the identity of the Special Coordinator, though I have to agree with you about Umbridge having no redeeming qualities. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Sounds like Umbridge's MO. Very enjoyable start. Love how clueless Severus and Hermione are. Can't they see the solution to the marriage law problem is staring each of them in the face?
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
I'm happy to know you like how this story starts. The Special Coordinator's identity will be revealed ... eventually! And yes, it's quite obvious to everyone, except the two parties involved, what the solution to the problem is. If they figured it out too soon, however, I wouldn't have a story to tell! Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Trelawney? She's been insulted by both Severus and Hermione. I know, I know... no comment.
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
No comment. Thanks for reading and reviewing!
Oh this mystery person is a delightful irritant! I wonder who it is? Percy? Ron's not sharp enough. I like the banter between Severus and Hermione, only they are missing the obvious! Get married, now! Work on your projects and solve the delima! Plus he won't have dunderhead kiks this way.
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
I have no comment about the identity of the "delightful irritant." And, of course, you're right about the obvious solution. But if they followed the course that is so blatantly obvious, I wouldn't have a story to tell, would I?Thanks for reading and reviewing!
Great beginning! Can't wait to see how Severus and Hermione get together. Wonder who the baddie is? :D
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
Again, the author has no comment on that question! Thanks for reading and reviewing.
I think I smell a toad. Interesting beginning, I'll definitely be checking back for more!
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
This story is completely written. I'm sending in Chapter Two this afternoon, so it should be uploaded in the next day or so. (And, lest we forget, three cheers to SW for all the hard work she's put into this challenge!)Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Love this!! Can't wait for the next chapter. I love marriage Law fics...!
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
I've always enjoyed reading Marriage Law fics, but this is my first attempt at writing one. I hope you'll enjoy! Thanks for reading and reviewing.
I vote Marietta, she's a Ravenclaw and hence pretty clever. And evil.
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
There's no doubt that Ravenclaw's are clever ... but evil? I'm not so sure about that. But, anyone can do something reprehensible under the right circumstances, can't they? Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Response from HermioneJeanSnape (Reviewer)
No, I didn't mean Ravenclaws are evil! Hell, I'd probably be one. I meant Marietta I thought had the potential to be evil.
Love it! I'm banking on Umbridge, but maybe Neville....
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
Neville? Surely not! (or is it??) Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Response from Gardengirl (Reviewer)
Tried to range from the predictable to the unlikely. Could be Percy... don't know what his beef with Hermione would be, though. It's not Ron, you've said - don't think it's Harry, because he'd not be in such a menial position. Luna? I can't see her being so... linear. And I don't think I've EVER seen an Evil!Luna fic... hmmm. Marietta Edgecombe? She's got a beef with Hermione, certainly. Ooh, this is gonna be FUN!
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
Do you really think that the position of Special Coordinator for Ministry Arranged and Approved Marriages is menial? It's FULL of power! Now ... who wouldn't love that? I hope you'll continue to enjoy the story.
Has Umbridge once again decided to crawl out from under a rock? Or perhaps Marietta Edgcomb? Loads of enemies for the two of them, I can't wait to read more.
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
Umbridge ... Edgcomb? Edgcomb ... Umbridge? Once again I must declare that I have no comment! Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Wonderful first chapter, I am really looking forward to see this story unfold. I love that Hermione has ditched Ron, several times, I am very much looking forward to see Hermione and Severus twart the culprit at the Ministry. (Please say its not Umbrigde? She should be in Azkaban:-))
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
Another vote for Dolores Umbridge as the bad guy ... another 'no comment' from the author. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Yes Dolores, my thought also. Interesting start, looking forwarad to follow your story
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
Poor Dolores -- so much suspicion is being thrown her way! I guess you'll have to keep reading to find out if your're right! Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Dolores! :)
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
I can neither confirm nor deny your supposition. I guess you'll just have to keep reading! Thanks for reading and reviewing.
very good so far. :D
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
I'm glad you're enjoying. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
