Variety Challenge Winner... The Wizengamot has finally done it! They've gone and passed the Marriage and Baby Law. Neither Severus Snape nor Hermione Granger is happy with the choice made for them by the Ministry, so they hatch an elaborate scheme to thwart the new law--by marrying each other!

I am in my late 50's and I didn't even start reading Harry Potter until after the third book came out. My granddaughter got me 'hooked on Potter,' and while surfing the net one day, I found a fanfiction site. That was it! My first story, "Renaissance," was published on Ashwinder a month later and I've been writing ever since. I am primarily a HG/SS shipper, but I also enjoy reading and writing RL/SS. I live in Tampa, Florida with my wonderfully adoring and supportive husband, and three completely spoiled cats. (Kallie, Mysha, and Smudge {who was the inspiration for the cat that Severus gives Hermione in my story "Renaissance."}) I'm always happy to correspond with my readers and I answer ALL reviews. I'm always looking for plot-bunnies, so feel free to throw some ideas out.

It's so sweet how they both claim that the marriage is simply a convenient way of circumventing the Marriage Law, and yet they're both going out of their way to make it something good for each other. I suspect that Severus is having a special wedding band created for Hermione; hopefully we'll get to find out in the next chapter! 
Good idea for changing hotels; if Aurors are looking for them and think they've found them, the last-minute hotel change will maybe give them the slip long enough to carry the plan through. I know Severus really wanted a nice honeymoon suite for Hermione's sake, but I imagine that there's still enough of the spy in him to have the strategic implications rattling around in the back of his head, too.
Here's to (hopefully) putting one over on the Special Coordinator!

Well, if everything went smoothly, I wouldn't have a tale to tell, would I?And changing hotels was really just Severus's way of making the wedding night special for Hermione. For a marriage of convenience, a lot of kissing is going on, don't you think?I'm rather sure a magical witness will be important somewhere in the future.I'm rather curious about the business Snape has with the taxi driver. Please, don't let Aurors spoil that ceremony.

Argg! I thought they would get married in this chapter! The suspense is killing me--I keep expecting aurors to show up at the hotel and kidnap Hermione or Severus...I certainly hope they get through the ceremony (and consummation) successfully and that the Ministry HAS to accept it. If they manage this, it will really piss-off that nasty Special Coordinator. (Take that!)

Oh my goodness! What a mess. I was wondering if they could sneak away and get married. I'm glad they're trying it, but I almost wonder if Aurors will be waiting for them at Heathrow or something. Hopefully not, because the other alternatives are... well, less than stellar. I do hope than when they return, their magic isn't taken away for not following the Ministries orders. And I wonder if Arthur isn't Imperiused. His behavior is very odd and not at all like him.

Great chapter! You can cut the tension with a knife and I loved how they started getting proof that they were being shafted. Let's hope they get married safely.

Hmmm... The pettyness and need for revenge sounds very much like it could be Umbridge. What a scary thought, the cordinator let loose on these marriages with no accountability? Shudder! At least Severus and Hermione are not standing around waiting for the Ministry to tell them what to do. I can't wait till the coordinator finds out what they are doing!

Take that, ministry! I'm sure the antics of the mysterious special coordinater are far from over but at least our couple has the upperhand for now. They are a dangerous pair those two...I'd hate to be on the opposing side when they team up!
