I am in my late 50's and I didn't even start reading Harry Potter until after the third book came out. My granddaughter got me 'hooked on Potter,' and while surfing the net one day, I found a fanfiction site. That was it! My first story, "Renaissance," was published on Ashwinder a month later and I've been writing ever since. I am primarily a HG/SS shipper, but I also enjoy reading and writing RL/SS. I live in Tampa, Florida with my wonderfully adoring and supportive husband, and three completely spoiled cats. (Kallie, Mysha, and Smudge {who was the inspiration for the cat that Severus gives Hermione in my story "Renaissance."}) I'm always happy to correspond with my readers and I answer ALL reviews. I'm always looking for plot-bunnies, so feel free to throw some ideas out.
Reviews for The Best Laid Schemes
Whew - had me worried for a while there, when Hermione was looking panicky. I was afraid maybe they'd found a loophole somewhere. Now to figure out who's behind all this. I have a suspect in mind...
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
Umbridge seems to have garnered the most 'fan support' for the role of baddie ... who is your guess? And, my dear, there are always loopholes! (Or are there?)Thanks for reading and reviewing.
This is a wonderful story!!! I loved to read it! The idea of a bound was great and the epilogue completed, giving to the fic a finishing touch. Congratulations!!!
awww, so sweet....I love this chapter!
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
I'm so glad you enjoyed. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Oh wow....great chapter! Filius seems a bit nosy....loland Mundungus is some bloke....hahaha "are you ou´of yer bleedin´mind...."so now, what will Trelawney say? I guess predict their upcoming death for sure!
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
I'm so glad you enjoyed.I had great fun writing Mundungus in this chapter. And I predict that you find out next chapter what Sybill's reaction is to the news. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
An update on my birthday! Squee! So poor Mundungus was coerced. I'll bet Sybill wasn't though. So the evil-doer is a man, is he? Or is that another red herring, I wonder? *iz puzzled but still entralled by this tale*
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
Well, Happy Birthday! Someone dear to me is celebrating a birthday today, as well. And who said the evil-doer is a man? I didn't say that. (Of course, I didn't say it wasn't, either.)I guess you'll just have to come back and find out, won't you? Thanks for reading and reviewing.
God that was fun.
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
For me, too. I'm glad you enjoyed. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Loved this chapter! LOL
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
I'm so glad you liked it!Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Poor old Dung. He was manipulated as well! :)
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
Indeed ... lot's of coercion going on!Thanks for reading and reviewing.
I can't believe this went so smoothly. Surely the Special Coordinator will make itself known before they can indulge in celebrating their victory (again)...I'd like to add I'm positively delighted by the quick updates. Do you plan to finish posting before the voting?
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
Since I'm not sure when the voting begins, I can't answer that question. There are four more chapters, and I'm sending the next one in tomorrow ... after that? I just don't know. And I promise ... the identity of the Special Coordinator will be revealed soon! Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Response from snitchette (Reviewer)
I think there is still 2 weeks for updating before the voting begins. So it should be enough considering how fast you seem to be validated.
I continue to get more engaged in this story as I read. I cannot wait to see what happens next! The only complaint I have is with the length of your chapters, so i hope to see the next chapter soon! Good work!
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
mmmm ... and I thought the chapters were rather long. They're averaging around 3,000 words. But, I'm glad you're enjoying it anyway. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Ok, so how long before Hermione's pregnant since she's got the IUD and contraceptives seem to work in reverse in Britain with the residual dark magic about at the minute? Was it seriously that easy with the wedding at the Ministry just validating it like that without argument?? - not that they could really argue on it too much...
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
Contraceptive charms and potions seem to be working in reverse, but remember things are not always what they seem! And an IUD is a MUGGLE device, not affected by the toxic magic. Hermione will choose if and when she has a child. And the Ministry validated Hermione's marriage because Mundungus Fletcher chose not to challenge it.Will Sybill be as accomodating?I guess you'll have to read the rest of the story to find out! Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Absolutely desperate to know who is behind it all. My mind is saying Umbridge, but another part of me is screaming Molly Weasley!
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
All will be revealed, gentle reader.LOLThanks for reading and reviewing.
It's telling that when I get the notification that this story has a new update, I drop -everything- to read it, isn't it?
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
That's a great compliment, and I appreciate your devotion to my little tale. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Well, Mundungus was easily discouraged but I'll bet Sybill won't be gotten rid of quite so quickly. My guess is she will be more than willing to challege their marriage if there is a chance she can get her hands on Severus. :)
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
Are you reading over my shoulder as I write? LOLI hope you'll come back and find out if you're right. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Very well done! Snuggling with snape it could be my favorite thing
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
Oh, mine too! Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Squeee! That was great, I am so glad that the ceremony was competed I know that eventually they are going to have a tough time but for now, hell yeah! If I had to take a wild guess at whose behind this I would say its that damn umbridge woman! geeze I hate that hag.Wonderful chappie!
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
I"m glad you liked it. There are two more chapters up now, so I hope you'll come back and read some more. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
There was no text in your review, but you left a few stars behind, so I'll take that as a compliment. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Very nice. Well done. Just perfect. Most things left to the imagination is a treat indeed. Again looking forward to more.Truly
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
I'm glad you liked it. I'm more comfortable writing sensual rather than outright sexual scenes. I have nothing but respect for those writers who can pull it off, but that's just not me.Thanks for reading and reviewing.
All hotness aside, the line about Severus's mark fading in contrast to the mark of the other Death Eaters really stood out to me in this chapter. What a beautiful way to describe Severus good persona, which he constantly tries to hide.I wish I could have seen Severus's face when he took in the surroundings of the honeymoon suite. I'm sure it was priceless.
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
Something similar happened to me once ... just a vacation, not a honeymoon, but somehow we got the honeymoon suite, and the mirrored ceiling was startling to say the least. I can only imagine how Snape would react! And you're right about his Mark ... it's fading, like Harry's scar is fading, because he is, at the core, a good person. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Feeble attempt at kissing the bride - indeed.I do have a feeling that Martin's copy of the marriage contract will be needed soon.
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
Snape is not one for public displays of attention ... I'm sure he made up for it later!I have no comment about any further role Martin may play. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
That would have been something, had she slept through her own marriage :-)The day at the spa helped to wake up her inner goddess - just in time for the wedding night ;-)Severus was very thoughtful in sending her flowers. Now who says this isn't going to be a "real" wedding?
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
That what I say ... she certainly deserves a 'real' wedding -- and so does Severus, though he'd deny it!Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Yea!! They finally got to the wedding night -- and with no random aurors popping out (**Surprise!**)Very tastfully-done love scene. Now: let's see how that Special Coordinator reacts to this slap in the face... I still think it's Umbridge. She certainly has reason to hate Hermione. Although her veiw of Snape in canon is somewhat more nebulous. Thanks for the really nice chapter.
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
Nope, no Aurors in the bedroom.I don't generally write explicit lemons ... I much prefer the sensual rather than the outright sexual. I'm glad you like my approach.I won't say when, but rest assured that the identity of the Special Coordinator will be revealed when it's appropriate. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Whew. *continued sighs of relief*That was a lovely chapter. Her acceptance of him - warts and all - was wonderful. What a clever pair, IUD and condoms. The Ministry will rue the day they messed with this duo.Now if they would only fall in love, hmm....
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
Oh, I think everyone (but they themselves) know their in love! When will they realise it becomes the question!I wasn't sure about the IUD -- considered a diaphragm, instead, but didn't like the fuss of that device. And I could see Snape skulking off to the chemist's shop to get condoms! lolThanks for reading and reviewing.
Response from Clairvoyant (Reviewer)
Hey, mystery!author. If you send Snape to the chemist's shop, can I assume you are not a Yank?I am trying to solve the mystery of your identity, of course.
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
LOL When I write my stories, I set my spell check to English/UK. I do a lot of on-line research to make my stories as authentic as possible. My stories are also thoroughly 'Brit-picked' so I don't make too many blunders, such as referring the chemist's shop as a 'drug store.'I even tend to use English/UK in my review responses. I really like to immerse myself thoroughly.Does that mean I'm not a Yank? Maybe! Thanks again.
Nice story. I wait for more :)
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
Chapter nine just uploaded!I hope you'll continue to enjoy. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
*sighs* That was perfect! You had me scared that they'd be interrupted, you cheeky wench. ;-)Do they realise they're in love yet? No? Well, I guess the little adversity that is no doubt coming their way will make them see sense before long.
Response from StormySkize (Author of The Best Laid Schemes)
No coitus interruptus for our couple -- the marriage is duly consummated! That being said, however, there may still be some rough waters ahead. They still have to face the wrath of the Special Coordinator! Thanks for reading and reviewing.
