I am a beginning writer and I'm in love with the world of fantasy. I own a small farm with my husband who supports my odd fasination with the plane of make-believe. We have two small children and I have a full-time position as "mother".
Reviews for Cursed Love
I loved her nonchalantly/obviously trying to attract his attention when getting ready for bed. Ouch with the Lily comment. But he is getting over her as evidenced by the end of the chapter. Her gift was really clever, even if he was too drunk to appreciate. I was going to beat him down for that one, but then he apologized so I will let it go. Oliver is a jerk. I hope she stays clear of him. It is not even worth it to spend time with him to make Severus jealous. It was another milestone in this twisted relationship, but she felt like they’d passed a point of no return and they were in this for the long haul.I think this perfectly sums things up! Looking forward to more!
Response from Elizabeth (Author of Cursed Love)
I'm so glad you liked it!!!Yes, the Lily comment did hurt. It hurt to write it, actually...It's not everyday that you hear Severus Snape apologize, so when he does it, you better accept it. :)Oliver is a huge jerk, and don't worry, she isn't stupid enough to hang around him anymore. And the twisted relationship takes a few more turns, but yes, they are in it for the long haul. Thanks for reviewing!!
Hermione did everything she could to delay crawling under the covers before Severus came out of the bathroom, but nothing seemed to work–until she crawled under the covers. I laughed out loud.
When she woke the first time, I was so happy that Severus told her to be still and don't move. He was comfortable. *sigh* Later when they both experienced an orgasm with Severus calling out Lily's name, I wanted to cry. *sniff* To top off the weekend, Severus made it beyond clear that he did not want to talk when they arrived in his office. *gggrrrr*What's wrong with him? *wtf?*
From his behavior toward Hermione after she won her awards to his silence when they came back to Horwarts, I felt he was bothered by something more than awards. Too bad he couldn't have acknowledged his attraction to her before Oliver Wood practically raped her. But perhaps he paid a little for it all when Hermione kicked him in the ear. That made me laugh out loud, too.
I'm glad Hermione found it within herself to forgive him his rudeness. The hurt of his lost love was fading, and he didn’t know what it meant. But he was looking forward to teatime on Sunday.
Thank you for a damn fine chapter! Beth
Response from Elizabeth (Author of Cursed Love)
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!This has been one of the hardest chapters to write. And I still don't know if I got it right. There was so much I wanted to put in here. And I'm so relieved that you experienced it with Hermione, the way I wanted you to.The emotions that they both go through were all over the place. I didn't have a "curse" happen in this chapter, I wanted to clear some things up. The mess will come together in the next chapter, kind of. I hope to send it in later tonight, and it has some fun stuff.Only four more chapters to go...and maybe an epilogue. What do you think? Should I write one? Yeah, I think I will. Thanks for reviewing, it means so much to me. I love reading your reviews, you're my number one!
Response from braye27 (Reviewer)
Of course you should write an epilogue! There is no doubt in my mind!!!!
I don't think I like Severus very much anymore. Hermione is too forgiving. Let's see what Sunday brings.
Response from Elizabeth (Author of Cursed Love)
I'm sorry. He just a mean person, some things will never change. And yes, I see Hermione as a bit too forgiving too. But when someone says sorry, what else are you supposed to do?
Was this what Winky had in mind?
Response from Elizabeth (Author of Cursed Love)
I don't think she did originally, no. But why not prod it a bit? Severus needs to learn a few lessons himself.
Sounds like Severus is finally getting a clue! :)
Response from Elizabeth (Author of Cursed Love)
Slowly, but surely!
Yes, Snape. The only reason she could have possibly won was because she is friends with Harry. No other reason. Jelous much? I think Snape might be missing the chatter though. I can't wait till she can give him some back!
Response from Elizabeth (Author of Cursed Love)
Ha, jealous? No, not Severus Snape. Why would you think that? ;)And between the two of us, I think he misses the chatter too. She'll give him some back, don't worry about that!
Poor Oliver. He just can't seem to catch a break. If I were him, I think I would avoid Hermione too! I am glad that Severus has finally seen she is much more than the take charge, know it all Gryffendor. She actually cares about people, and he should be glad that caring is being aimed at him. I wonder how long he will let this go on before he helps her?
Response from Elizabeth (Author of Cursed Love)
Poor Oliver in deed. And sorry to say the worst is not over for him. He just doesn't know when to quit.Severus has a hard time accepting genuine help. But he'll learn. And she does really care, but he has a hard time trusting, and he's stubborn.
Sneaky Snape! I just hope he knows what he is doing, and not putting anyone else in harms way just to have his bit of fun.
Response from Elizabeth (Author of Cursed Love)
Ha ha! When I'm through with him, Snape would have wished he'd known what he was getting into, let me be an writer over him. I won't hurt him too much...*evil smirk*
Good start! Only... it very, very rarely ever snows in Queensland in Australia! I live in Victoria and even I've never seen snow! Haha! And I live about 1.5 hours from the snow fields! Anyway, I look forward to seeing what happens! :D
Response from Elizabeth (Author of Cursed Love)
Ha ha. I guess you know I'm not from Austrailia! Thanks for the update. I should have done more research. I hope you like the story. Thanks for reviewing.
Response from Mu xxx (Reviewer)
Haha it was just a guess! And yes, I do like the story! Cheers! :D
Figures teh git would make the girl sleep in the sofa. and his tirade over her award - jealousy! Whoot! for her! Two! He was nice enough to make the powder for her and all, though, so he's slowly and I mean s l o w l y becoming redeeming. The fact he rolled over to her side of the bed was really telling! I bet she knew he had and knew/felt the hard on. *snerk*
Response from Elizabeth (Author of Cursed Love)
Yes, I paced this a bit slowly, but he gets better. And I cannot tell you if she noticed or not as it would ruin the next chapter. *evil grin* But I'll say that she does take advange of a certain situation...
Okay so he's keeping quiet to teach her the 'lesson' Oh I'd love to see her turn th etables on him and use it against him. Oka, he is starting to lighten up and I like that he's - well, she's getting to him. Poor Oliver, too bad he's maimed! Will it grow back once the curse if off her?
Response from Elizabeth (Author of Cursed Love)
No ex-Quidditch players were permanently maimed in the making of this chapter. He gets his bits back he's fine enough to come back for more later on.And Snape is learning to lighten up, but he's still set on having his fun. Too bad it bites him in the butt later on...not literally. ;)
Response from beaweasley2 (Reviewer)
cool
Goody, the git figured it out. About bloody time. And he's going to toy with her? grrrPoor, Hermione, when will shel earn her lesson?
Response from Elizabeth (Author of Cursed Love)
Well, she'll learn it before he learns his.
I had to laugh when Hermione started mumbling to herself and taking notes during Professor Belby's lecture. Even with a Silencing Charm, the bouncing quill still managed to irritate Severus. He really seems to be of two minds. On the one hand he doesn't want her attending every lecture he does, and on the other he loves having her attention. I think he really likes being made to feel that she cannot bear be away from him for very long.
My favorite part of the chapter was when they had to sleep in the same bed... and Severus found himself wrapped around her with his morning erection snuggled up to her backside... on HER side of the bed! OMG! And he can't recall if he did anything to her during the night. Delicious.
My next favorite part was when Hermione won two awards... and he won none. (I had thought for a minute that Hermione might have nominated him for an award which he won... but apparently not.
His behavior has got to be getting under Hermione's skin, but she still can't talk. And here they are back in their room, Severus has locked himself in the bathroom, and I'll bet Hermione is starving. She may not be able to talk tonight, but come morning, assuming her lips are no long sealed, I'd say things are ripe for a first class row.
I hope she doesn't tell Severus that he is a prick! You wouldn't, would you? Nah... But I'll bet he has to pay for his attitude some way, and not being able to talk for over twenty-four hours will have given her loads of time to realize that she has the perfect weapon to exact her revenge.
Fun, fun chapter!!! I am eagerly looking forward to the next one.Beth
Response from Elizabeth (Author of Cursed Love)
Severus is of two minds. He's contantly at battle with himself. He wants to like her but ethics won't let him. And they are due for a row, but it doesn't happen when you think...and no, I won't have her tell him he's a prick, although that would be priceless. I can't help but laugh out loud just thinking about it.Hermione gets her revenge in due time, don't worry. I hope to get the next chapter up in the next couple of days. Just waiting on my beta to email it to me. Thanks for your great comments, Beth.
Okay the git has to know what's going on now!! The kite bit was funny - SuperSnape to the... childish moment. sorryBut the bending over backeards - hwo could he not have guessed? If I were Hermione, I'd blame him too!
Response from Elizabeth (Author of Cursed Love)
Yes, SuperSnape! Good thing he knows how to fly. And I think he has some clue as to what's going on, he just isn't willing to face it yet.
Ooh, that prat Snape! He expects respect from her but doesn't give any, and he has the audiacity to GRADE her?! As if he was all that! Her students are doing fine without him! Poor Wood, at least he learned the truth. The fingers bit was funny! So was the nightgown one.
Response from Elizabeth (Author of Cursed Love)
Yes, Snape is full of double standards. But he learns eventually. And Wood...well, you'll see what I do to the chap later on.Glad you liked the little incidents.
Well poor Severus is in a sulk but he deserved it since he made that crack about Hermione being 'dumb'. I'm sure he knew that their table mates thought he meant that she was stupid, so good for Hermione for putting him down a peg (or two).
Response from Elizabeth (Author of Cursed Love)
Yes, it's about time he was put in his place.
The finger licking scene was rather hot.Hotter than fire .... Good thing reviewers were not hit with Winky's curse.Screwball at its finest.
Response from Elizabeth (Author of Cursed Love)
Glad you liked it. And yes, thank you, Winky where ever you are, for not cursing us as we use as many phrases as possible in our reviews!
Bad Severus! He does realise he could endanger someone with his knowledge about the curse and Hermione's big mouth, but wants to torment Hermione and the others around the castle. I just hope it gets back on him, too.But I can't help but find the whole situation incredible funny.
Response from Elizabeth (Author of Cursed Love)
Yes, bad, bad Severus. He get's his, don't worry. And it gets funnier...and awkward. ;)
Well, I was thinking that they would need to have sex before her lips unsealed, so it is only during the convention. I was wondering about this story when if first started, but I have come to enjoy it very much.
Response from Elizabeth (Author of Cursed Love)
No, not sex to break the curse...but it doesn't mean something of the sort can't happen next chapter...I'm glad you stuck with this story. I realize that I took WAY too long to get into the meat and bones of this story. Sorry about that. But I hope to make the rest of the story as enjoyable and adventure-packed as possible. Thanks for reviewing.
Well, Hermione is acting on her emotions left and right, which isn't exactly the most reasonable thing to do, especially, as her emotions seem to be out of control.I wonder how long it will take until they find out that every proverb she is using in Sape's presence will be taken literally...The curse really could be dangerous. I hope it can be stopped.
Response from Elizabeth (Author of Cursed Love)
She does get a bit emotional, and it does cause some interesting situations. They figure out the trigger soon enough, and don't worry, nothing too bad happens.
Oh my, a jealous Snape. I'm sure when her lips will unseal themselves, a bit fight is going to occurr. The sealed lips probably were a blessing in disguise. If she had held a long "thank you speech", she probably never would be nominated for a potioneer's popularity contest again.
Response from Elizabeth (Author of Cursed Love)
Ha ha! I had another review exactly like yours. Yes, a fight is overdue. And thank Merlin that she didn't go on and on and on with a "thank you speech." I would have hated to write it!
When will her lips be unsealed. I'm seeing a big fight over the award for the bubble potion. The things that could come out of her mouth could result in such delightful lemons.
Response from Elizabeth (Author of Cursed Love)
Her lips get unsealed the next day. It was only while they were at the convention. But yes, a big fight is due. And there are so many lemons, big juicy ones...
Snape really set her up with that late notice of her acceptance. I would have written a letter saying that I gladly accept but the untimely nature of his offer made attending his staff meeting improbable. That I'd be happy to see him at his next earliest convenience. It would have ruffled his feathers, but he was in a bind anyway, not that Hermione knew that. Still, if he was going to send me noticifation five minutes before the said meeting--to 'ell with him. Hermione really is a woose in this story. Too needy. I loved Severus' outburst to Minerva, "What about me!" Selfish git. I"m surprised that Hermione's rooms are bare stone walls, but enugh for her to see that she has a study area? First time I've seen Porfessor's rooms just bare stone. No bed? no desk? nothing?
I bet the house-elves don't even clean her rooms. lolSo now we come close to the Winky bit? hmmm
Response from Elizabeth (Author of Cursed Love)
Yes, I guess I do make her a bit needy. I really did try to focus on her personality but my mind kept drawing to his, so I think I ove rdeveloped him into something dour, mean and grumpy. And Hermione is too under developed. Sorry about that. My one true downfall as a writer is character development.Anyway, I didn't even think about furniture! Goodness me, sorry about that. I guess they would have been furnished, to some extend anyway. And the house-elves not cleaning them, well, you'll see ;)
Response from beaweasley2 (Reviewer)
Please don't think I'm knocking your character development, I'm not. Possibly with all the huge swings, highs and lows (there seeming to be more lows in her life post war than highs) she may have developed complexes. I mean, she always needed to prove herself in the books until about GoF & OoTP. You did show her having a really rocky life in the MoM. Just factor that in, if that's what you intended to portray, and go from there. Severus' characterazation is perfect! IMHO (not worth half a Knut.)In regards to the furnishings, They can be something she has to request! (Gads! Having to ask Severus for a bed!) or it can be an over-sight on his part. (LOL Yeah, right! Can you say deliberate? Maybe he didn't want her in the bed he used, or sofa, or desk...) You have opened yourself up for a comedic scene, girl/guy! Good luck! Hugs~
Response from Elizabeth (Author of Cursed Love)
I didn't think you were knocking my characters, honest. I just see all these holes when people make mention of little facts that I put in there. Anyway, I'm glad you like Severus' characterization.Sadly, I've already finished the story and so I've no room for the bed situation. Although I find it could have been a different avenue I would have liked to go down. Darn. Thanks for the luck!
Oh, I thought Hermione might have nominated him for something. Well, it's nice that she won something. I'm sure Severus likes her much better with her lips sealed.
Response from Elizabeth (Author of Cursed Love)
I was afraid people might jump to that conclusion. I explain it in two chapters, I think...And Severus gives his opinion about her inability to speak in the next chapter...
LOL. A quiet Granger. What a bonus! :)
Response from Elizabeth (Author of Cursed Love)
It was bound to happen sooner or later.
