Sometimes writing, nearly always beta reading, I love to unwind after work by reading fanfiction.
Reviews for Antidotes
I so look forward the girls night. And I'm glad Heemione stops things with Ron early enough. I'd love it if it were Sev who took care of that for her.
Response from WriterMerrin (Author of Antidotes)
Hee! Your speculations are such fun. Thanks.
I can't wait for him to wake up and realize who has been brewing his potions. Maybe she'll earn a nice comment this time.
Response from WriterMerrin (Author of Antidotes)
*smiles* thanks
I've been keeping an on this for a while now and I'm glad I've the time. That seems very promising.
Response from WriterMerrin (Author of Antidotes)
Thanks so much for your reviews; I hope it meets your expectations.
That cure seem very dangerous. I hope she'll come out of it with everything: her magic and an engagement ring. *wink*
Response from WriterMerrin (Author of Antidotes)
Aww, Severus has some definite plans in mind for them. Thanks.
looking forward to more chapters.
Response from WriterMerrin (Author of Antidotes)
Thanks! I finally got them posted.
When Severus patted the bed beside him and sat and read with Hermione, I thought, "My goodness, he's accepting this calmly." Perhaps Narcissa is very persuasive. Or maybe it's those complimenting auras. One must feel for Ron, and even for Hermione, giving up her first romance, her first idea of romance. Good job.
Response from WriterMerrin (Author of Antidotes)
LOL! Narcissa is VERY persuasive. She definitely pushed them toward each other. Thanks for the review!
This is a very good tale. I love how much you have thought things out. I like people to add something imaginative and magical to the Wizarding world. You are doing a wonderful job!I really have to agree with you that Hermone and Ron strike me as the WRONG couple. They would do much better (IMO) staying freinds than becoming sweethearts. I don't see Ron (as many Fan fiction writers do) as insisting that Hermione stay home and raise a ton o' kiddies. But still, they do not seem well suited for life-long companions. I think Harry would make a much better life partner for Hermione. He seems closer to her spiritually and temperamentally. Sorry to be rambling. Anyway, this is a delightful fic. five stars.
Response from WriterMerrin (Author of Antidotes)
Thanks so much! Since I've started writing science fiction and fantasy, my goal has been to incorporate those speculative aspects so much that the story depends on them. I really do love Ron; when I see him and Hermione in the movies, I squee as much as the next girl, but I just see them as school sweethearts. LOL, now I'm rambling, too. Thanks again :)
I am glad Hermione ended it with Ron. He is just too thoughtless and reckless. I knew it had something to do with that wand. The cure sounds worse than the curse. Trust that evil, twisted woman to come up with something like that.
Response from WriterMerrin (Author of Antidotes)
Yes, I thought that there weren't enough stories that dealt with the wand issue. Thanks for the review and stars!
So somthing is draining Hermione's magic? Could there possibly be a connection to the evil things Bella's wand did to this new predicament?
Response from WriterMerrin (Author of Antidotes)
Looks like you got your answer already! Thanks for the reviews :)
Interesting that the Malfoys are so concerned about Hermione's health. Is it just because she has had a long, emotional day that he aura is so thin, or has she put a part of herself into the potion she brewed for Snape?
Response from WriterMerrin (Author of Antidotes)
Thanks for more perceptive questions. They are mostly answered in chapter six, and then I'm hoping to get the last chapter posted within the week.
Interesting that Narcissa has a knack for auras. I hope she sees something in Ron and Hermione's together that will show them they are not ment to be together "that way".
Response from WriterMerrin (Author of Antidotes)
Hee hee! Peceptive...
I am glad Hermione has found some sort of companion in Narcissa. Both women need to heal in different ways, ways that the males in their lives would never understand. Narcissa seems to have had an enlightenment when it comes to Hermione. I hope it lasts.
Response from WriterMerrin (Author of Antidotes)
Thanks! I like to think that Narcissa sees Hermione's potential in a way different from the Gryffindor women usually around the younger woman.
I love your Malfoys. The way they are so determined to stay with Severus and see him through this bring a new kind of humanity to them. I hope Hermione is ready for lots of hard work! I wonder how appreciative Severus will be when he realises the know-it-all is the one who brewed the potion to save him?
Response from WriterMerrin (Author of Antidotes)
I never really saw the appeal of the Malfoys until the last book. I imagined that the last year would have changed their perspective on a lot of things. Thanks! :)
I am so glad Severus managed to ensure someone would go back for him. At least he has the chance at survival.
Response from WriterMerrin (Author of Antidotes)
Thanks :) When I saw that, in canon, Lucius is the one sent to bring Severus to his sticky end, it began a glimmer in my mind of a loophole!
Glad you put them together. They flowed nicely.
What an interesting connection they have. Loved her little slip about him loving her. That would be a natural concern.
Then there's Ron... need I say more?
Response from WriterMerrin (Author of Antidotes)
Well, the less said about Ron the better ;) I'm glad her concern seemed natural. Thanks so much!
Their growing relationship is so lovely. Yay, for Hermione, breaking up with Ron. He took it very well. LOLBut I'm scared about the dark spell draining her magic. The cure doesn't sound much better than the disease. Ouch, WritterMerrin, this is getting angsty!
Response from WriterMerrin (Author of Antidotes)
Aww, sorry the angst had to go on for so long. Thanks for the great review!
I'm loving this! What a nice chapter. I'm glad things didn't get really ugly between Ron and Hermione. It is rare to see a story where Hermione and the Malfoys actually get along rather then them barely tolerating each other just to placate Severus. A nice change. Will be eagerly awaiting the next chapter!
Response from WriterMerrin (Author of Antidotes)
Thanks so much! I wanted them to part on friendly terms. It was interesting integrating the Malfoys; I think Narcissa really needed something positive to put her energy into.
I'm glad the breakup was relatively painless.
Response from WriterMerrin (Author of Antidotes)
Thanks. I wanted them to part on friendly terms.
Good chapter, the break up was touching. I'm glad Hermione is realizing that Ron isn't in her best interests. She needs more than he can offer.
Response from WriterMerrin (Author of Antidotes)
Thanks. I wanted them to part on friendly terms. You're so sweet.
I like your Narcissa. I think it is quite a stretch that she would be so friendly with Hermione so soon but it is actually done well enough that I am on board with it. Girls night was a fun way for them to begin to bond and for Narcissa to give some inside info on Severus. I like the dream and hope that it is really them conversing even though he says they won't remember much of it.
Response from WriterMerrin (Author of Antidotes)
Hi, Thanks for giving Narcissa a chance. By the end of DH she was one of my favorite characters. There's only one chapter left, which I'm posting with the epilogue :)
Another intriguing chapter. I'm glad that he is not witholding his affection. I'm also very glad that she has put her feelings for Ron in their proper perspective. So the cure for this curse could kill her... Why am I not surprised. Leave it to Bella to come up with such a horrid and cruel spell.
Response from WriterMerrin (Author of Antidotes)
Thanks. Bella is always good for increasing tension. I think Severus has had enough witholding for one lifetime ;)
omgosh! Just when Hermione and Severus have begun to form an attachment, fate steps in and gives them the whammy. It's such a tender moment when she ponders whether or not they should even try to do the separation if it would mean living without him in her world. *sob* His response to her was just lovely. Fantastic update. :D
Response from WriterMerrin (Author of Antidotes)
Thank you very much. I'm always trying to keep Severus realistic and still romantic. I am glad that moment worked for you.
Great update, I loved that the Hermione/Ron is now over officially, and even more do I love that Hermione has stated her claim on Severus and made her intentions clear:-))
Response from WriterMerrin (Author of Antidotes)
Thanks. I appreciate that you readers put up with a lot of Ron in this story ;)
This is wonderful. And I loved the longer chapter.
Response from WriterMerrin (Author of Antidotes)
Thanks. And thanks for the shinies, too!
