Like many proud alumni of the honorable Hufflepuff House, ApollinaV is a rabbid Huffle-hugger, champion pear-tickler, and founding member of Cleansweep-Streakers Guild (the AV-Eyeful is so named in her honor). Since graduating Hogwarts, she done 'responsible' and 'professional' things - and resolves not to do that anymore. Dreadful amounts of paperwork.
Reviews for The Gilded Cage
Wonderful choice of words and excellent thoughts set this starting chapter apart. I seriously doubt that Snape fits into whatever category she considers him. She doesn't bother much about this, does she? Oh, this will cause a great deal of trouble, I'm certainly looking forward to it.

I think once she's seized on a Brilliant idea, she holds onto it like a bulldog. She's convinced herself that this could work. Her ideas about SS being weak and compliant are amusing. Even in Azkaban, I'd never see him thusly. Ah, but that's what makes plots interesting.I'm thrilled you're looking forward to it. AV
"…ginger headed ankle-biters…" that is an instant classic.
I can just see Ron's face all disconcerted as to why Hermione cannot fathom the idea of lots of babies and not concerned about nesting.
I'll wait patiently for more updates. BTW, do you have an idea of the length of your lovely story? I just like them long and with thick plots, hard core... and I’m completely missing the point, aren't I? Great chapter! … Yeah, that’s what I meant to say!
Response from ApollinaV (Author of The Gilded Cage)
Thanks! I'm rather fond of ginger headed ankle biters myself. The story is about 80% written at this point and it's just stepped over the 100,000 word threshold. I update as fast at the queue takes. All the best, AV

Thank you for the lovely reply. If my husband wasn't Mexican (lacking the pistols and the big mustache, pretty much a classics Latino man) I will be delighted to have ankle biting red heads. I just find them adorable! My son took much on the Latino flavor… although, when he was younger! I am so excited your story is looooong! Love you for that since you will be giving me something good to look forward to!
nice start - I can't wait to see where you take us! Please update soon! Thanks for sharing

Thanks. It's different, and well, I like different. I hope you stay with it. Even though it's WIP it's just about entirely finished. Posting has been slow, but there's about 50 chapters total.
I'm glad you're posting here. I love this story. Thanks for your work!
Response from ApollinaV (Author of The Gilded Cage)
Thanks. I wasn't originally going to except I've been overwhelmed by the favorable responses on the other websites. It took me awhile, but then it dawned on me that I had a 'hit' on my hands. And well, TPP is a place from my golden dreams I have to post my work. -AV
I can only hope that her out-thinking will not turn out as expected. *grin* This first chapter is really exciting, and I can't wait to read more (I LOVE MLC)
Response from ApollinaV (Author of The Gilded Cage)
Oh she's definitely in for an unexpected ride. I love it when she is so self-assured in her knowledge, right before life smacks her hard up side her head. I do hope you enjoy this. It's a WIP but it's almost finished and I have about 50 chapters planned. Thanks for reviewing -AV

50 chapters !! woot, great.
Ohhhh boy. "Weak and compliant" hardly describes Snape, even as the current prisoner of Azkaban. I have a feeling Snape, like any sensible Slytherin, is going to want to know what's in it for him! Other than the obvious mandated sex.I'm very curious to see where you take us with this unusual spin on the Marriage Law story!
Response from ApollinaV (Author of The Gilded Cage)
There just aren't enough decent Azkaban fics out there. And in the world of HP fanfiction, a rock that hasn't been turned over much is a rare thing indeed. Snape is all Male and all Slytherin here. I hope you continue to enjoy it. It may be a WIP, but it's mostly finished and I have about 50 chapters planned. Thanks for the review,AV

*with Trevor watching from the bedstand* - that hit me really off, I was virtually lying on the floor, laughing. I do have a cat who would like to watch in this way, looking rather grumpy all the while, were she permitted... *giggles*
Great opening, I'm looking forward for more.
Author's Response: Could you imagine his bugging eyeballs? Yessh. I have a Tom who likes to give my husband and I looks of disdain, but its great fodder in terms of channeling Crooks. Crooks is such a Tom. -AV
I'm so glad you've decided to post this here! This story is wonderful. I probably won't leave reviews here until it's caught up, but I like TPP's format a lot better so I'll definitely leave my future reviews here when the chapters are up to date. :)
Response from ApollinaV (Author of The Gilded Cage)
I'm thrilled to start posting to TPP. We may never get caught up simply because it takes longer in the queue and validation process to post here and we're way far behind, but I'm still thrilled that TPP has accepted it.-AV
This was extremely funny! =] I can't wait to read the rest. Nice swap over on the marriage law, very fresh approach. I wonder how the future Mr. Granger, err, Professor Snape will respond??? Can't wait. LOL
Response from ApollinaV (Author of The Gilded Cage)
Thanks! Marriage Law has been done so many times and it's a great vehicle for plot, but using an Azkaban angle is something I'm having fun with. There just aren't many Azkaban fics out there... probably with good reason. Oh well. I hope you enjoy it. -AV
I'm so glad to see this posted here--I read here much more frequently than I do at other sites, but I've been following this story for a bit. I'm looking forward to see what happens :)
Response from ApollinaV (Author of The Gilded Cage)
Thanks love. I think I just responded to your ear worm from Ch 29, but I'm thrilled to bring TGC to TPP. TPP is such an excellent site. It'll be slow posting, but it should be worth it. -AV
Why do I get the feeling that things aren't going to be as simple as Hermione thinks they'll be...? Supervised conjugal visits in Azkaban don't sound particularly thrilling to me! Looking forward to the next chapter!
Response from ApollinaV (Author of The Gilded Cage)
Because when is anything ever perfectly straightforward or meets all expectation? This is from the world where a simple grubby sock means freedom from slavery and litter can transport you hundreds of miles away. Nothing is ever as it seems. And I love Hermione's self confident naivete. I hope you continue to enjoy! -AV
YAH!!!! What a great chapter - cheers to you and your muse!!
What a wonderful plot! I have thought what enjoyment I was getting as I was reading. I wanted to leave reviews four times! But then the pleasure of turning and continuing to read outweighed my ability to delay gratificationz. I do hope life is giving you enough time to write and finish this or is there an uploaded finished draft somewhere? I don't need it Betaed perfected. Only your wonderful story!
Noooooooo! Just when it's starting to get good its done! Please tell me you update often!!! It's so good so far!
I think I'm on Severus' side here. And it seems that Hermione hasn't needed the potion for a few weeks. Hopefully she will be able to get rid of the use entirely. Of course she feels better, she has Mr. Snarky-pants scowling at her, who wouldn't? Now if only they would open up and stop hiding everything. Too much fear, they have. Get rid of it, they must.
You are just really mean! great kiss, and then this!! blargh. But really, can't blame them for thinking like that. She's dumb dumb dumb for medicating, though. Loved Snape's thoughts... Now, WHY shouldn't I kill this witch? ROFL
This story is amazing! I'm really hoping you will continue.
Too short! But appreciated...:)
The only issue I have here is that surely Hermione knows that just *casting* Avada Kedavra earns one a life sentence in Azkaban, so it really doesn't matter if it's assisted suicide or murder, or whatever. Unless she can either 1) somehow prove that he did NOT cast and Unforgivable, or 2) convince them to change the law so that the intent behind Avada Kedavra DOES matter, legally speaking, Severus is out of luck.
That said, I really love this story and am enjoying it a great deal!
So intriguing. I have read through rather quickly finding the words ease from the page. Severus in his guilt awaits his catharsis, and Hermione has yet to truly live.
I calmly await your next addition. Thank you for a well written read, and the sharing of your mind~Elou
I love that toast.
Now that she's a bit tipsy, I hope that he can convince her that a little "honor" is called for!
Great chapter. I love this fic.
This just gets better and better! And has Hermione even noticed that he's started referring to her as "vixen"? Sure, she's tipsy now, but she wasn't when she first entered Sev's cell...speaking of tipsy, the Slytherin Toast to Honor was a riot! As usual, looking forward to the next chapter! Can't wait to see how they ring in the New Year!
Comparing Snape to Ronald Weasley. Now, that takes a brave woman! :)
I waited until now to review because I have been so enthralled by this story, the intelligent writing and the characterizations. In short, this is a story that I wish I had the talent to write. I eagerly await the next update and am now about to scurry off to find your other works.
Response from ApollinaV (Author of The Gilded Cage)
Thank you, that's very sweet of you to say. *blushes* I hope you continue to enjoy this story. AV
