Great update, Echo!  I really like the way Severus is helping Hermione face her fears.  He has let her know that he will be there to keep her safe, and will avenge her capture and torture at the hands of Lucius Malfoy.

Though they were both very quiet as they ate their evening meal, lost in their own thoughts about each other, I think that Severus has come to realize just how much he cares for Hermione.  And surely he must know that she cares very much for him.

The only fly in the ointment I can see is that Ron is making plans to take Hermione somewhere for vacation as soon as the war is over.  I hope he doesn't cause a lot of problems when it dawns on him that Hermione and Severus are in love.

Well, it's too bad that Severus had to give up his secret manor, but at least the Order has a new hideout.

How convenient for Hermione and Severus to have adjoining rooms! I am enjoying the description of the manor...

I'm sure Severus would like to strangle Remus for blabbing his secret. I just hope he can also keep it a secret from Voldemort and the other DEs. I wonder what kind of trouble Malfoy will get in if Severus can prove he was behind the attack of Grimmauld Place.

Boy, every time I think this story is becoming predictable, you throw me another curve.Now I have a real cliffy to hold on to. I really like how Severus and Hermione's relationship is progressing... slow but sure. Although her ordeal is horrible and heartbreaking, it would take something monsterous for him to see her in a better light.Great job.
