Hi, I am a member of several SS/HG websites and have written my first fan fic, HG/SS of course! I am currently working on a Dark story, which shall be an epic of sorts.
I live in Australia with my two boys and plenty of dogs, and love reading anything involving SS/HG (don't we all). Cheers
Reviews for Descending into Obscurity
I'm usually one of those unfortunate individuals because of time constraints...writing my own stories and reading a fair few too many others. I know, excuses, excuses. At any rate...I must say I'm impressed with the story so far. You've done a splendid job of making Severus a touch more human and showing very believable reactions on all parts. I'm usually of the opinion that Lucius isn't as evil as he's painted but...I accept that's not everyone's opinion. Anyways, I'm rather curious how Remus ends up helping Severus find her and whether Harry continues being quite so reckless. I look forward to more. ~UK

Thank you for the review!Firstly, I didn't want to make Lucius out to be as evil as he is portraying himself to be in my fic, but he wanted to run with it and who am I to argue. Lucius can be scary believe you me, and he is on orders from the Dark Lord himself so...Harry will grow up quickly in this story, he hasn't much choice in the matter. And you know Remus, he's such a sweetheart.Hoping you and yours a safe and merry holidays.Love Sonia :)
That was a heck of a beginning.

Hi, I had time to read the first chapter. I am really interested on how Severus has now become her master. I'm glad that I found time to sit down and read, now if I can only find the time to write.

I am quite interested in knowing how the person can communicate to Severus through their minds. Possibly the collar has something to do with it, as well as the tattoo on Severus' arm. Were Remus and Severus planning on finding specific people in the dungeons, or just hoping to find any survivors? I look forward to reading more.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
All shall be revealed soon I promise ;)
Severus and Remus were not planning on finding anyone, alive at least, in the Malfoy Dungeons, however; they did and this shall be her story.
Thanks for leaving a review, it is appreciated.

I have been following this story, why? I don't know. This kind of endless torture is not my kind of story. I guess there is the hope that someday she will be finally freed of her undeserved hell and that real love and happiness will belong to her.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Thanks for following my story, even if it is not your cup of tea.Love Sonia :)
I absolutly love this story so far. I can't wait for the next update.

How inconsiderate of Severus to live, and spoil Dumbledors day.

Dumbledor is so like Voldermort, they could be brothers. Harry has put a lot of thought into Dumbledor's motives, and i think he is begining to understand, the depth of the betrayal. Draco {as Lucius} has a tough road ahead, untill the final battle though not a long one. O.M.G !!! I finaly got it, Lucius formed a blood bond with Hermione, when he branded her didn't he, thats why she started screaming when he was captured.

No, the wards to the house fell, and the wards surrounding here dungeon home were breached. Therefore, she can now feel everything. If you will remember Lucius set up a spell so she could not harm hereself and hense could feel the pain inflicted upon herself, though could not see it outwardly.Hopefully this makes sense to you.The reason she was acting that way towards Remus, in the first chapter, was the fact that he did not have a DM on him. Even though Voldemort is gone, the collar she wears still has Dark magic interwoven into it. Hopefully Severus will be able to take it off of her, though I fear Draco may have to do the job as Lucius made her his in every sense of the word.Love Sonia :)

Why did the wards drop, he's captured, not dead.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
He was placed in cell that dampens his magic. Most, not all, of the wards dropped surrounding his Manor.Love Sonia :)
Response from mick42 (Reviewer)
I see, thanks.

Thanks babe. I am soooo very busy here at present. I have a rough outline for the next chapter, but it may take awhile.
Thanking you for your kind words.
Love Sonia :)
I have to say this was probably the roughest chapter for me so far.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Yes, I agree. It was tough to write too.Love Sonia :)
Curious to hear how easily Voldy got through the barrier. And what the collar does. Rough bits, done well I think.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
All shall be revealed in later chapters. Thanks babe.Love Sonia :)
Good to see Harry grow up and approach Severus. Always thought that was a good idea. Excellent chapter.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Thank you. I always thught that if Harry would just stop and think things through he would arrive at this conclusion.Love Sonia :)
Sometimes doing things for the greater good isn't any better than what the 'bad guys' do. Good chapter.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
I totally agre, but I kid of empathise with AD as he is in a tough spot.Love Sonia :)
Rough chapter, tho' it was meant to be. Too bad she survived (but had she not, well, no story).
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Yes, I agree with you there.Love Sonia :)
Hmm, I have a feeliing I'm not going to like your version of Dumbledore very much. Callous, not thinking things through, being a general git. Good chapter.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
I think I got his character rather spot on with the hints that JK gave us.Love Sonia :)
Response from Phyllidia (Reviewer)
By the end of Book 7, I didn't like JKRs Dumbledore very much either... So you must be doing it right.
I think that was handled well. I thought this line particularly powerful: a rapid movement on his part changed her world forever.
Response from Phyllidia (Reviewer)
I can imagine. You want to tell what happened but not make it tittilating or glorify it in any manner. A hard line to tread to show it's about power and control and not sex. I think you did a good job. (As a note, it's difficult to leave a comment on such a chapter as well--it's sort of like 'liking' someone's comment on Facebook saying their Grandfather passed.)
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
I totally agree with you. There is nothing sexy or pleasant about rape whether a virgin or not. It scars a person for life and I hope I conveyed that to my readers.Love Sonia :)
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Thank you, you do't know how much I agonsed over this chapter.Love Sonia :)
I was wondering why her parents had not raised an alarm. And now I know. Glad Crooksie wasn't hurt.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Yes, I hopefully tied everything up.Thank you!Love Sonia :)
Ah silly girl, forgetting she was in the middle of a war. But typical 'nothing can touch me' teenage mindset. Great chappie. So, does Lucius have to wash his mouth out now that it's tasted 'dirty blood'?
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Indeed! Keep on reading to find out.Love Sonia :)
Powerful first chapter.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Thank you, I trust that you continue to enjoy my story.Love Sonia :)
Give Crooks a big saucer of cream, to take away the taste of that vermin P.P. I hope the house elves will continue to take care of Hermione. Draco needs to keep his wits about him,if he doesn't he will meet Hermiones fate.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Or worse (for Draco that is).And Crooks is a sweetheart, he shall play a vital role in the Final Battle.Love Sonia :)

I love the way the relationship between,Severus and Harry is developing. Can't wait to see what Draco is up to.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Thanks! I always thought, whilst reading the books, that if Harry just stopped and thought about it for a while, he would come to the conclusion that Severus was doing everything for him instead of against him. So this is my spin on what could have been.Love Sonia :)
Response from mick42 (Reviewer)
After reading the first book, that Severus Snape was the true hero of the story, and was laughed at.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
I know, what does that say about JK as a whole? Yes, I liked her books up to book 5, but after that it was full of inconsistancies. Love Sonia :)

Lucius has done as much damage to his own soul, as he has to Hermione. Murder will split the soul, so what sort of damage will the continuous, unmercifull torture of other human beings do{ Hermione is not the only one in those dungeons} Lucius is not awere of it, but every drop of blood, every scream, destorys a part of him too. I'm glad to see Harry is growing up, and closer to Severus{ and farther away from the lemon drop kid }
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
LOL, your review cracked me up, well, not all of it but the end did the job.Yes, Lucius is in too deep, I don't even think he realises what he does is wrong.Love Sonia :)
