Hi, I am a member of several SS/HG websites and have written my first fan fic, HG/SS of course! I am currently working on a Dark story, which shall be an epic of sorts.
I live in Australia with my two boys and plenty of dogs, and love reading anything involving SS/HG (don't we all). Cheers

I hope Malfoy gets his just rewards soon. I hope her torment is now at an end. I know I've had enough, I am ready for her circumstances to improve. She has cleared a lot of past karma with these experiences.

I know what you mean. Well now that the collar is in place there will be no more need to control her as such with Lucius' petty torments.
Thanking you for reviewing this chapter.

Oh! I feel so sorry for Hermione!

i think you have shown hermione's mind desintigration very well. it almost seems like he's breaking her to turn her...possible? wonderful update. thanks so much

Oh no, they would never accept a Mudblood into their mists. Next ch is done, just have to tweak it a little.
Thank you for the review.

The Order meeting: Albus Dumbledore is a dictator IMHO, and not a very nice one at that. And Moody is a bastard. I loved Snape's threat. Is Hermione able to contact Harry's mind or is it his imagination providing the words and images of her troubles? Harry's meeting with Prof. Snape was very moving.P.S. I thought I already had your story on my favorites list, but I guess not. I just added it. It seems a little weird (no offense): The story with Abuse/Rape, B.D.S.M., Explicit Sexual Content, Horror, Self-Mutilation, Suicide/Suicide Attempt, Torture is one of my favorites. It makes me sound a little twisted. OK, I am a little twisted, so I guess it is fine.

Unfortunately it is what Harry saw in AD's penseive that is giving him the nightmare's. He is no true seer.
I thought I would stick all of those warnings in there as you never know what will pop into my head and come out, so I thought it only fair that I put extra warning on my story.
Next ch has additional warnings so you will have to have your hard hat in place (for when you hit your head on your desk when you pass out from reading it).
Thank you for your honest (and flattering) review.

Stumbled across your story and am so glad that I did. Dark, yes, but given the evil present, is it any wonder? I feel bad for Severus, dancing between two masters as it were, and loved Harry's realization that it is Severus that is there for him, unlike Albus who is using Harry. Old Dumbledor is truly a puppet master, in some ways, hardly better than the evil he is fighting. Anyhow, I look eagerly to the next chapter. I am also curious as to what Severus does once he finds Hermione. Thanks for sharing your story and your talent.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Oh I am so happy that you 'stumbled' across my story :) After book 7 I felt as though AD was as bad as Voldemort, I just thought that he hid it well using the 'greater good' as an excuse. But we shall not go into that now. This story shall be the first of two tales the first, 'Descending...' shall be all about what happened to Hermione in captivity, and the war and such, the next, 'From Darkness Comes life,' shall be about Severus trying to put Hermione back together again. Don't worry though, as I believe in happy endings.Ch 10, which is already written, is really DARK as we see more of Lucius' sadistic side come shining through. Keep your eyes peeled for it shortly.Love Sonia :)

oooooooooh goodie ;)
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
You may not be saying that after you read it ;)Love Sonia :)
Response from CelticRose (Reviewer)
Oh sorry, I suppose I should be more specific as to what I am saying "goodie" about, really, I am not a sadist ! lol No, my expression of glee was the idea of a second part of the story, where Severus helps Hermione . . . whew, almost botched that one! ;)
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
That was my first thought, though I went with my second one if that makes any sense to you whatsoever.Love Sonia :)
I was struck by Hermione, living in her head. Oddly enough, I think she is still too focused to be considered 'insane'. Plus, she's still determined that she will survive, if only to repay Lucius for his hospitality. Not insane by a long shot! Also love the matured Harry. I was hoping he'd ask Severus, if indeed Sev does hate Harry, as to why he does. Maybe it's something they can hash out while Severus works with Harry.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
No, Hermione hasn't broken... YET. I stress the yet bit because in the next chapter we shall see... no, I mustn't tell you just rest assured that the next ch is written.
Thanking you so very much for your review.

oh, my.... I wonder what she thinks of Lucius by the time Severus finds her. I'm glad to see Harry growing up, and it makes sense that it would take something traumatic like Hermione's kidnapping to make him mature. why doesn't Severus let Moody know that he did get Crucio'd for asking the question about Herms? will Severus ever realize that Voldy is misleading him about Herms -- and maybe other things? thanks for the new chapter, babe -- you always keep my mind going with questions!
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Oh, Lucius won't be around for her to think too much of him, LOL! And no, I'm not going to kill him off ;)
You know Severus as well as I, I think he thinks that his position is falling in the rank of the DE. Poor baby, I won't torture him too much though. Voldemort will have a task for him pretty soon to test his loyalties, but that's all I'm saying.
Loves you, Sonia :)
Oh, my. Hermione's downward spiral is so heart-wrenching.Livvy
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Indeed it is.Thanks for your review it is so appreciated.Love Sonia :)
While the story is much darker than I like, it is written well and continues to intrigue me. I do hope that Hermione will soon be finished with her torture and the road to recovery begins. It is an interesting psychological portrait. One thing that I am confused about is that Voldemort does not seem to know anything when Severus confronts him regarding Hermione. So much so that Severus believes it. I just want to make sure that there is an agreement between Voldemort and Lucius to 'break' Hermione. Is this idea meant that Severus just isn't clever enough to read that Voldemort does indeed know that Lucius has Hermione?
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
It is indeed between Voldemort and Lucius, Voldemort doesn't want anyone else to know about it as he wants it to be a surprise for HP.Thank you for your review and I hope you continue enjoying my story.Love Sonia :)
I'm glad that Harry and Severus can work together. I feel so bad for them all. Dumbledore is sinking a bit low isn't he?I am in awe at the way you're writing Hermione's suffering. It's so beautifully filled with anguish and despair. Excellent!
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Thanking you. I am quite proud of how I am writing Hermione too :)AD is a manipulative bastard as we all learnt in Book 7, I have just taken what JK has given us all and twisted it slightly and there you have it.I am glad that you are continuing to read my story, it warms my bitter heart so.Love Sonia :)
It's great to read from you again! I honestly have no idea what Lucius could be up to, maybe he has to occupy another of his dungeon 'fun' cells? I really like this chapter and am looking forward to the next one. xox

Thanks babe.love Sonia :)
I really hope that you will post the sequel soon, it is 2015 now so I hope that you are well and happy.
Please post the sequel soon! I am aching for some SSHG action and am hopeful for a happy and healed Hermione. Oh and Albus' comeuppance for his dastardly deeds.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Thank you. You will have it as soon as I write something worth posting.Love Sonia :)
Dumbledore is absolutely INFURIATING! His actions and reasonings are just as evil and manipulative and Voldemort. I could only hope that Harry sees through his machinations and forms a bond with Severus.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Oh don't worry about that, Harry will come to realise who is really looking out for Harry.Love Sonia :)
The treachery of Dumbledore sickens me as much as Lucius' torture of Hermione.
