Hi, I am a member of several SS/HG websites and have written my first fan fic, HG/SS of course! I am currently working on a Dark story, which shall be an epic of sorts.
I live in Australia with my two boys and plenty of dogs, and love reading anything involving SS/HG (don't we all). Cheers

OK you have flushed me out!Your characterisations are well done and despite the horrible nature of the subject matter is well written. Although I would expect Hermione to try to plan or try to escape a bit more. Trying wandless magic perhaps?- but that's my take.Your Dumbledore is positively Machiavellian- which is as we found out at the end of DH. His reason for Hermione's disappearance leaves me cold - always manipulating, and surely anyone who knew her would see through it? - I assume if it were true she would have discussed it with Harry and Ron and made arrangements to sit her NEWTS/Continue to study via owl.I imagine the effect of Hermione's kidnapping on the boys and Snape plus DD recalcitrant attitude to mounting a rescue operation and how long before they give up is a central theme. Really, leaving her to Lucius/Voldemort without even trying to save her is almost just as bad a crime as what Lucius is doing to her. I am curious as to Snape's understanding and level of involvement - Does Lucius/Voldie trust him enough with this information and if so what does he do with it? Plus if he does know, how do you tie it back to the previous chapter when she is found? It will be interesting to see where you go with all this.Cheers.

Okay. Hermione can't do wandless magic as the cell Lucius has placed her in warded (not sure if that is the correct term) against her doing anything to hurt, or to help herself.I know AD seems a bit cold, but honestly what can he do. I do see his point, as with no leads to go on where do they begin looking for her? You shall loathe AD even more after the next chapter as he does something that is so unforgivable that even I loathe him.No, Voldemort wanted Lucius to keep this a secret and he shall. Hence the reason that SS is so startled to see Hermione alive, though I haven't gotten to that bit yet.I fear it shall all blow up in AD face in the end. What with him giving up on Hermione like this and forcing... No. I can't really say anymore.Thank you for your honest review, and I hope that I can continue to meet your expectations.Love Sonia :)

I've been putting off reading this story because I knew it was dark. That being said, I just read it and it's very good and I love what you're doing. Dark fics are hard to read and I'm sure harder to write, so I want to commend you on the world you're creating. I know the journey will be long and arduous, but I can't wait to read it! Well done! :)

First off, thank you for your very kind review. Dark fics are hard to write probably because I'm a perfectionist and everything must be just right.
Yes, it shall be quite some time until I finish this particular fic as the characters each demand a staring role. I told them that this was Hermione's fic, but they refused to listen and are fighting for centre stage as we speak.
Love Sonia :)

I think you are doing fine with this story.. I'm glad to see you have Hermione reacting as a raped virgin should (well, anyone being raped but a virgin usually has more pain)... However, the hymen is at the edge of the vagina and not deep within it - a common mistake in fanfiction....

Thank you so much for your review. And thanks for educating me along the way. It is greatly appreciated.

THis is GOOOODDDD! Can't wait for more. Really like the darkness, and Dumbledore's evil tendencies. Very well-done. PLEASE update soon, and let Severus get to Hermione before she loses her mind!
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Unfortunately it will not be possible for Severus to find Hermione before she looses what is left of her sanity as explained in my opening chapter.
More to be coming really soon. thank you for your review.

I can't tell you how disturbing your narrative is (that is meant as a compliment...think Quentin Terrintino). You're building a wonderful sense of tension, and frustration. Though I'm very glad we got to see the result in the first installment...gives a sense of foreboding to the whole thing. I'm definitely enjoying this, in a frightened sort of way (again, please take this as a compliment).
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
But of course I shall take all you have said as a compliment as that is what I am trying to convey through my writing, and if it has its desired effects than that is a bonus. When I first decided to write this tale, I wasn't going to go back in time and show all of you how Hermione came to be this way, instead; I was going to go forward. However, this part of the story needed to be told, it kept at me until I finally caved and wrote it. Therefore there shall be two parts of this story. 'Descending into Obscurity' is the first, with 'From Darkness Comes Life', being the secondThanks for your review, and I trust that you will continue to enjoy this story as it unfolds.Love Sonia :)

Somehow, someway I hope this bites Albus in the butt.Great job on Hermione's situation, compelling and frightening.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Me too, I honestly do. However, he shall get away with a lot more before this tale is finished.Thanking you.Love Sonia :)

Goodness, old Malfoy paid a visit to the Grangers and bought himself a little time. Poor Hermione. Can't wait for the next chapter posts.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Lucius is always careful. when the Dark Lord told him that no one should know about him taking Hermione, he meant no one.
I'm afraid it isn't looking to good for Hermione.
Thanking you for your review.

I think there's a cat among the pigeons. This chapter is scary, what happened to the Granger's that they have no clue of their daughter's existence?
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
You shall have to wait until ch 5 to find out I'm afraid, but fear not, as the next chapter we revisit Hermione. Thanks for leaving a review, it is greatly appreciated.Love Sonia :)

Oh, dear. At least Harry has some sense. That must be horrible.

I'm wondering if Severus will break ranks so to speak and find Hermione himself.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
He is trying, but with little to nothing to go on it is hard. Poor bugger, I feel for him. Thanks for the review.Love Sonia :)
i take it you are not a dd fan, either. faboo update! thanks so much
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Not particularly. I was so angry at him at the end of DH, it seemed like he screwed everybody, including Harry, over in the quest to attemot to save the Wizarding World. Thanks for the review.Love Sonia :)
And when, pray tell, will Harry and Ron see the light and get in contact with Snape?
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
LOL! Next chapter actually. You guessed right. And it will just be Harry btw.
Thanks for the review.
Love Sonia :)
The way you're writing Dumbledore, he's nearly as manipulative as Voldemort. ugh. Not a good thought. Poor Harry. Poor Hermione. I really hope that you let us see how things go after she's rescued. I hope she can get past this hellish ordeal and maintain some sort of normal if inot happy life.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
LOL, that's the plan. I think AD was as manipulative as Voldemort though he TRIED to use it for the best of all.
Yes, I will end this story (DIO) when HG gets rescued, and then I shall write my next story, From Darkness Comes Life, in which we shall see SS trying his best to make HG into what she once was. Though after ch 10 (which I just finished writing) I truly don't know how that is at all remotely possible, but we will have to see. Glad you are enjoying my story enough to leave a review.
Love Sonia :)
My gods, Dumbledor in this is a rigth old bastard! Harry is going to fall apart!
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
You will be surprised by what Harry is capable of. he always comes out on top, although without HG I truly wonder how he will manage.
Thanking you once more Bea, for reviewing as you are reading. Enjoy the rest.
Love Sonia :)
Oh gods the whips and the acid and she didn't scream her head off? Poor girl.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
I think she went to her 'happy place', well as much as she could manage.
Yeah, you haven't given up yet, but knowing you you are no quitter.
Love Sonia :)
All I can say is brutal. His evil and she's in hell.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Yes, I think Hermione is in hell too.
Thanks for leaving a review darl.

Odd that the professors didn't notice anything amiss. What happeend to the Grangers? Loads of questions, and I hope answers are forthcoming.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
I trust that I answered all of your questions so far.
Love Sonia :)
Oh, man you were right, this is going to be a hard one to read! Lucius is evil!
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
You haven't seen nothing yet. Yes, Lucius is evil, but he quite likes being perceived that way. Well, my Lucius does anyway.
Love Sonia :)
p.s. Thanks darl for reviewing as you go.
Oh, my. Severus and Lucius survived the final battle, I assume. The person is so demoralized that (s)he govels... oh, poor thing.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Haven't decided yet whether Lucius shall survive, though I have grown quite fond of his character (at least the way that I write him).
And yes, Severus (and Remus) survive.
Love Sonia :)
Oh my...I'm usually not into the darker stories, but this is brilliantly written, and believable. I hope to see more! :)
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Why thank you. You can definitely expect to see more in the New Year as I am flat out on my twin sister's farm at the moment.Hope you are having good holidays.Love Sonia :)
w00t w00t this was awesome!
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Thanks babe!Happy Holidays.Love Sonia :)
The sad part is I can see Albus doing exactly that. Chilling chapter, simply because it is believable
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
All's fair in love and war... Or so I am lead to believe.Thank you, and may you and yours have a happy and safe holidays :)Love Sonia :)
frightening, but well written. thanks so much
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Thank you!All the best for the holidays.Love Sonia :)
I'm reminded of what Sirius says about the world not being divided according to good people and Death Eaters. How horrible. Interesting, isn't it, how things that would ordinarily be appalling and repugnant to most people become necessary, even admired during wartime.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
It is indeed, and I kind of feel for Albus. Yes, he is responsible for his actions however, he is the leader of the Order and has to make difficult decisions constantly. What could he do otherwise? Send the Order on a suicide mission and they don't even know that Hermione is alive. I do feel sorry for Hermione, but I feel sorry for Albus too.Happy and safe holidays to you and yours.love Sonia :)
As always, excellent and as always cannot wait for another update!Livvy :)
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Thanking you! I can't wait to get some writing done, unfortunately I won't be able to for the next two weeks as I will be flat out.Have a happy and safe holidays.Love Sonia :)
