Hi, I am a member of several SS/HG websites and have written my first fan fic, HG/SS of course! I am currently working on a Dark story, which shall be an epic of sorts.
I live in Australia with my two boys and plenty of dogs, and love reading anything involving SS/HG (don't we all). Cheers

I just started reading this and had to say that your writing style is very real... when Hermione fell onto her broken wrists I actually pulled my hands away from the keyboard and balled my fists because I could almost feel her pain.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Why thank you so very much. I always feel like my story sucks the big one, but I do like to keep it real.Love Sonia :)
So... I just finished all eighteen chapters that you have posted so far. I'm not usually into dark fics, but I'm really. . . enjoying doesn't seem to be the right word, so perhaps intrigued? by this fic of yours. It presents a very interesting perspective on the human psyche and explores its darker side in a straight-forward and unapologetic way that still comes off as being poetic, not clinical. I love that you are depicting war as something twisted and complicated, with numerous shades of gray. The lines between right and wrong are so very blurry, but despite that, true evil can still be recognized. I feel that a lot of fics, and even the books themselves, deal with the issues of war, murder and death, but gloss over the less clean-cut aspects associated with them. Torture is something very real and would have to have been a part of a war involving a truly sadistic creature such as Voldemort. I appreciate the fact that you're delving into those dark, secret places that, to some extent, dwells within each of us.Great writing! I look forward to reading more.

WOW! Thank you so very much for your in-depth review.
I wanted to show the Dark side, or evil, side of the war. I don't think Voldemort would have been forgiving in his methods.
I hope you continue to enjoy my story and that I don't let you down.
Love Sonia :)
Excellent chapter! Those three kids... did one of them truly let things slip, or did Draco leak it? Is Draco considered one of the "junior DEs"? Looks like the exercise is good training for Draco and Harry. Poor Severus; I hope he keeps healing potions in his robes, not just a poison. Thanks for the new chapter!! I hope RL settles down for you and the boys.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Thanks babe. Draco leaked the info, he is a junior DE but with a father in a high position he is considered higher rank.
Thanks babe, loves you, Sonia :)
Response from June W (Reviewer)
Does Draco understand that the three kids died because of his leaks, or does he not think about it? Voldy could figure out that it's Draco doing the leaks! Yeesh, Severus may have his hands full trying to keep Draco from having a nervous breakdown.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
I think he's just going through the motions and when the war is over he may break down, but not before. He is a Slytherin after all ;)
Loves you babe, Sonia :)
Awesome chapter! Can't wait to read more! I hope RL clears up for you some!
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Thanks babe, but it doesn't really look like it.

Wow! just spent the past 2 days reading this story and I love it! Can't wait to read more!
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Thank you so bery much! I have the outline for the next chapter, but I am geading off to the States in 5 days so you will have to wait about a month or longer to read it. Sorry, but my RL is kind of hectic.I am glad you are enjoying it though.Love Sonia :)
Interesting story thus far, just started today. :) I rather like your development with Hermione. However it would be rather fun if Draco further complicated things, it seems he is a weak mind that can be cultivated for the 'greater good' however it would be interesting if this was just another ploy of the Dark Lord, or rather an independant action of Draco to accend to power and remove his father from the inner circle. People always want Draco to be saved, but what if he wasn't salvagable, or what if he takes Severus's advice to heart and serves his own purpose and his is limited by a need for revenge against his father in the ways in which he is most firmiliar..?
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
What an awesome thought, you've obviously put a lot of thought into this review, and for that I thank you.Unfortunately I have plans for Draco, but don't worry as I am trying my best to keep the characters in character, and there will be no lovey dovey SS in my story. Thanks once more for your great review.Love Sonia :)
i do hope draco is salvagable. severus did take a giant risk. wonderful update. thanks and mucho smoochies
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Oh I have a feeling he may be ;)Yes, Severus took a huge risk, but I felt that he was crytic enough with his probing that if Draco took it the wrong way he could come back to the DL with the fact he was just testing the boys loyality. Don't forget that Draco took a great risk too.Love Sonia :)
Oh no! I feel so sad for Narcissa! Wonderful chapter again. And we even get a glimpse of Hermione. Thanks for not abandoning this story! xox

Didn't Draco see Hermione? Or was he Obliviated?
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Draco was Oblivated my Lucius. Love Sonia :)

Thank you!Love Sonia :)
What a very dark story. I'm not usually one to read this type of story, but you had me hooked from the beginning. Poor Hermione. My heart is just breaking for her in this story. You are definitely a gifted writer. I do hope you'll continue on with this story.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Next chapter is waiting to be validated here.Thank you so very much for reviewing.Love Sonia :)
Ack! I know it was best for Severus to leave before Mundungus could possibly out him, but it's important for him to know about how Mundungus died and what he said. Will Hermione be ordered to kill Mundungus? Eeps!! I know you're way busy with real life, Babe, but I still hope you can update again soon. Thanks for the new chappie!!
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Thanks babe for the review.
Damn it, now my wireless has gone out on my computer and I have tried everything in the past 2 days I know. May have to call someone in to fix it. Luckily I still have internet capabilities on my PC (but not my laptop).
Update will be coming along soonish. Boys just stated school for the year and now the madness begins again.
Loves you, Sonia :)
Response from June W (Reviewer)
I read about your wireless problem on your LJ, but I know absolutely nada about how to fix anything on a computer. Perhaps we can bribe your eldest son to become a PC tech!
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
LOL! perhaps. Hopefully I shall have it fixed tonight as my friend shall be doing a conference call with me before he leaves for Germany. Fingers crossed.
Loves you, Sonia :)
Wonderful as ever, always leaving us hungry for more and scratching our heads wondering what will happen next. Brava
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
As long as I keep you guessing then I am happy. My beta doesn't even know what is going to happen next :)Thanking you.Love Sonia :)
Hey, hey! I'm not Slytherin, and I'm reading! Glad you're back. It's been a long vacation, eh? "grins" Just copying this chapter so I can read it in leisure later, then review.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Thanks babe for taking the time to read it. let me know what you think when you are done. Wasn't so much a vacation as a slave labour camp, but I shall not go into that. Glad to be back though.Love Sonia :)
eagerly awaiting the continuation.
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
It shall be with you within the next two weeks I promise. Just had a minnie RL crisis that needed attending too. Thanks for reading.Love Sonia :)
Who is the person willing to be killed for the cause? Why is he/she so willing, what is killing that person? Will Draco turn to Severus for help?
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Unfortunately we shall never know as Albus doesn't want to share.Fingers crossed that Draco turns to Severus for help ;)THanks for the review.Loves you Sonia :)
i would like to see severus and remus become at least semi-friendly. wonderful update. thanks and smoochies
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
Oh Severus and Remus will become more tolerable towards one another. Thanks babe.love Sonia :)
I really like how you develop this AU. It all fits. Dumbledore as the puppet master makes me think almost as much as Lucius behaviour. But who is going to sacrifice? Mysterious... I love it!Thanks so much for keeping up the writing!Kisses

My pleasure darl. Thank you so very much for continuing to read.Love Sonia :)
I like that you're including severus more in the story but for the love of god give him and hermione something to do! Everyone seems so miserable, you evil, evil, author! As always, thanks for writing and sharing. :)
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
LOL. Severus has to kill Remus, so there will be more of him in the up-and-coming chapters. Hermione is lost, unfortunately, to all of us at present, and no amount of coaxing on my behalf, will snap her out of it. Sorry.Love Sonia :)
sad and rather terrifying. thanks
Response from sbrande (Author of Descending into Obscurity)
That it is I'm afraid, that it is.Love Sonia :)
