I really like how this is playing out. I think you have hit how both of them would feel at this particular juncture in their lives. It is interesting that JKR who is divorced herself seems to leave that as a taboo subject in the wizarding world (though it does seem some of the half and half students did have their Muggle parent unable to cope with learning their spouse is magical) and seemingly send them back 50 years or so. Perhaps it's just all looking through those goggles ourselves thanks to the movies seeming to put wizards in Victorian garb that makes us think that is where their society has stayed from a moral standpoint.

Interesting start. I like how you have the negative reaction of the wizarding world. I really do think that's how they would take something like that.

Hm, the only issue with Severus' date of birth is that if he was born in January of 1960, he would have been above the September 1st cutoff for Hogwarts and been the year ahead Lily. And if that September 1st cutoff date isn't factored in, then it's hard to explain Hermione being just 6 weeks shy of a full year older than Harry. But that is such a minor detail, and I don't feel it really alters the content of the story. What matters is that Severus and Hermione both feel more for each other than they can let on. They couldn't admit it as Joy and Tobias because they don't know the other returns those feelings and they don't want to lose out on that baby.

What a charming start to this story. I look forward to the development!

Oh, this is excellent.  I couldn't stop long enough to review the first two chapters... it's gripping.  I love how you've set it up and really adore the internal narrative of both.  The letters are fabulous and fun and the deepening conversation is wonderful.  I hope you don't torture them *too* much, though... :)  More, please! :)

I loved the way you conveyed Severus' toughts and fears, and his interactions with Harry, lil'Al (LOL!) Ginny and especially with Healer Levy (LOLOL!)

I'll confess I'm a little deceived to see he behave like the next idiotic male of the species.
I know he is struggling with deep fears, but he's been sensitive and caring throughout the story, so why should he run away without leaving two words on a scrap of paper?!? I second my fellow reviewers who want to slap him. Hard. THEN forgive him, and he'd better work on his timing from now on! *g*

Thank you for letting us not-quite-suspended-on-the-edge of-the-cliff. The start of the letter is mind-blowing, and - all right, maybe I was too emotionally stressed before. Actually his being able to write the most wonderful things and not being able to act the same way does make a lot of sense.

Wow!  Wow!!  Wow!!!  Let's see . . . a gripping storyline, excellent smut, and now an emotional roller coaster with a perfect, PERFECT chapter ending.  You are GOOD!!!!!!!!  I am so emotionally involved in this story - it's actually kind of sad.  Oh, well.  I don't really care!  One more chapter - sadness.  It's okay, though, because I will be rereading this story probably as many times as I've read and will read Rowling's series.  Thank you so much for sharing this with us!

I just adore happy endings, and this looks like it will be very happy.  I can't wait to see what happens next.

Oh Wow, That was amazing.  I've been so happy with this story from the very beginning.  I loved the fact that there really wasn't a lot of crazy angst which most fics have these days.  This was just what I had been looking for.  I can't believe it's almost over, but at the same time I'm glad that isn't going to be dragged out for the sake of it not ending.  So anyways, I look foreward to seeing what happens with our couple.  (I hope they have that baby!)  Much Love ~ BrenaMarie
