Something More...
Here are the latest changes on The Petulant Poetess as of Wednesday, December 7.
- You have the option to keep your online status "hidden" to the general public on the front page. Go to Edit Personal Information on Your Account page to change to hidden status if you prefer.
- E-mail notifications for story updates are now a separate choice from notifications for reviews. Go to Edit Personal Information to change your choice. As of now, everyone who has checked to be notified for reviews automatically has the box checked for story notifications.
- The search function on the Categories page has been improved. It no longer spits out subchapters (I never understood why they programmed that in...) and you can choose to sort by most recent or alphabetically.

For Opera 9.0.2 Browser Users
It just came to my attention that the newest version of Opera (9.0.2) is not allowing users to leave a review due to a javascript error. For some reason, the browser does not want to pull the javascript file from the site.
I spent three days trying to figure this out, including uploading the latest version of the TinyMce files that the site uses for the html options in comment and review windows. Finally, I figured out a workaround for the Opera browser. If you are interested, please click on the link and follow the directions. If you need help, or don't understand the directions, e-mail me and I'll be more than happy to help.

MY BOOKMARKS
A few of you have probably noticed something new on the archive. I have had a lot of fun playing around and testing this latest addition, and I must admit that I have become addicted.
On each story page, members will notice a button to add the chapter you are reading as a bookmark. When you click the button, it will add it to your bookmark page, accessible from both the front page beneath your penname and from your Account Page. If you bookmark a different chapter within the same story, the bookmark will be updated with the new chapter, so you will not have to waste your time clearing out old bookmarks. I hope you all enjoy this. As I said, I am already addicted. It was a lot of fun developing this addition for you.
Secondly, I just wanted to let the authors know that I have fixed the little problem we were having with apostrophes in titles. I reinserted the apostrophes into the titles I removed them from, and the stories are successfully loading into people's favorite stories as well as the bookmarks.

Searching for Stories
I happened to notice today that the Search page was not working the way it should, and that when using IE, an error kept popping up. After much work to no avail, I finally decided that the search page needed a face lift anyway.
The search page now lets you include or exclude a character, genre, warning or rating. You can even include one and exclude another. Also, you are now able to type in a word count and search for either more than or less than whatever you type in the box.
If you prefer being able to search for multiple characters, genres or warnings within a category, go to the preferred category on the Categories page and you can search from there.
As always, if you discover any bugs, let me know. I've tested it, but I am not able to cover all the bases. I rely on all of you to let me know if something is not quite right. Go to the help page to contact me if you need to, and be sure to let me know exactly how to replicate the problem. Thank you!
