Updated Submission Rules
Please note: the Submission Rules have been updated. Nothing major, so don't run to drag out your latest MarySue/Aragon crossover. *lol* (Sorry, couldn't resist.) These changes were put in force because the number of submissions has significantly grown, and I am sure all of the authors appreciate admins with a mite of sanity. (It's early; first cup of coffee, forgive me.) So take a look, please, even if you are a validated author and the changes may not pertain to you. It is always good to know what I am doing behind the scenes, and you can let others know through word of mouth. Thank you!

Forum Board Revamped
I worked all day on site maintenance and uploaded a new forum board. Something wacky happened to the database of the former board (okay, so it was my fault, I'll admit), so I salvaged the challenge posts.
Please, everyone who previously registered, do so again. And those of you who have not yet registered on the forum, please do so and introduce yourself. Thanks!

FORUM BOARDS
The forum boards will be down for awhile until I can either fix it or find another that I find acceptable. I will do something about the challenge descriptions that linked to the boards. Once I find a forum application I like I will put a note up here.

Half-Blood Prince Discussion
Well, everyone is doing it! [/petulant whine]LOL And, no, I would not jump off a bridge if everyone else was doing it. But, still, I am as eager as everyone for the book to come out, so I started a discussion thread on my forum board. (Click on link above.)Join in if you feel like it. Reply or create a new post. Remember, anything dated after the 16th will obviously have spoilers. Those of us who are not speed readers (me included) will need to be careful if we do not want anything spoiled for us. ;)

CHALLENGES POLL CLOSED
Thank you to everyone who voted on my LJ to help me decide how to categorize the stories based on challenges that are posted here on The Petulant Poetess. My voters have spoken and I have responded in answer to their wishes.
I admit, I am really surprised at the outcome. 70.4% of the voters voted that I subcategorize each challenge under the Challenges category. I, myself, was of the mind to just eliminate the Challenges category and file the stories among the appropriate categories, because that is how other sites have done it and I felt that is what people would be most comfortable with.
Therefore, I am quite happy that I asked because I was wrong. In compliance with the majority, I have created subcategories for each challenge posted on The Petulant Poetess Forum Boards. There are a few stories that I know of that should be recategorized, and I urge those authors to please do so.
One thing you will notice is that there is not an area to choose characters within the Challenge subcategories. This is due to eFiction's rather annoying (in my opinion) need to duplicate the entire list of characters for each category you wish to place them in. You can see how this would be a problem when one has over 120 characters listed. I already have the list duplicated for each of the Harry Potter Fanfiction categories, and if I added characters for each of the Challenge categories (and it is a growing list) it would take up valuable disk space. If you wish to list characters for challenge stories, please place them in the description.
All stories that are in response to challenges posted elsewhere (i.e. WIKKT), please categorize as you would any other story with a note that it is in answer to the [insert name] challenge. And I am all in favor of listing the rules at the beginning or end of the first chapter.
I made it really simple to view the rules for each challenge. Simply go to the categories page and click on "Challenges." There is a link next to each subcategory that will take you directly to the forum topic.

Tweaks and Twitches
I have spent the last couple days making minor tweaks to the webpage. You may notice little differences as you hop here and there. I will continue to work on a few aesthetics over the next few weeks. As always, suggestions are most welcome. (If you would like to comment here, you must be logged in. Otherwise, you can hop on over to the forum and leave suggestions there.)
Today I was wondering why my inbox was empty. Considering the number of e-mails I usually have, it was quite odd and unsettling. Well, it turns out that if I choose the "do not store" function with my host, it will not send on the e-mail to Outlook. And here I was thinking it was simply not storing it on my server. It was, in fact, deleting everything. Imagine my surprise when I had a couple fics waiting to be validated and had recieved no notification. If anyone has sent me e-mail over the last 24-48 hours, I did not receive it. Just thought I would let you know - my lack of reply was due to my -- well, stupidity is a very harsh word but I think it fits well here. I apologize for my stupidity and please, if you sent me an e-mail, kindly resend it. Thanks!!

Comma Usage
I finally posted some of the basic rules regarding the usage of commas. You may find them here: Comma Usage. I feel there is a real need for some guidelines, especially where commas are concerned. If you are someone who would find a little guidance helpful, please have a read. Thanks.

Sizing & Resolution
It was brought to my attention today that some people could not view the stories without scrolling left and right. I believe I fixed the problem on all skins. If there is a problem with a page, let me know; I might have missed something. I hope this will make it easier for those of you who prefer keeping your sreen resolution at 800x600.

Multifaceted Awards
I am beyond ecstatic to be the hostess of every single story on this site. Every author here is of the highest caliber, in my opinion, and I look forward to the addition of more authors and quality stories.
I would like to draw your attention to those stories that have been nominated in this round of the Multifaceted Awards. (I am not hyping my stories; please take notice of the others first.) Congratulations to all of you. I am certain I will be listing more in the next round.
