This is notsosaintly reminding you all not to forget to review. Please show your support for the author whose story you have just read!
You do NOT have to be registered to review and you do not have to write anything profound. I have placed review boxes at the bottom of the story to make reviewing easy for everyone. And remember, this gives you a chance to also rate the story.
Ratings and reviews are like advertisements to potential readers who are wondering if they should give a story a chance. Now that the number of stars and reviews are appearing in the Recent Stories section on the front page, it is even more important to rate/review.

With Regards to Ratings

It has been requested that I explain why I use the ratings that I do, so here goes.
I am registered with and use the standardized fiction ratings set forth by FictionRatings.com. I place the ratings most people are familiar with (set by the movie industry here in the States) in brackets to avoid confusion.
A couple people e-mailed me because apparently there has been some talk about ratings systems lately. I am merely letting everyone know that I actually did base my ratings on an existent system.

FORUM BOARDS OPEN!

The forum boards are now open and can be accessed through the link at the top of the index page. The boards were specifically created for members to post requests for betas or to offer beta services. Challenges and their rules are also posted on the boards. You may now post your own challenges as well. Keep your eye on the boards!

Manage Your Reviews Easier

All members are encouraged to look at the Manage Reviews section on their Account Page.

The biggest change was to make it easier to use and easier to see. You can now sort by story or by date on the View Reviews and View Unanswered Reviews pages. You can sort by date, story or author on the Reviews I've Given page.

Secondly, there is a link for reviews on the View Reviews and View Unanswered Reviews pages for authors to report any flames or inappropriate reviews that you may feel violate my Terms of Use. Click on the link, and all the information is already filled out for you as a form letter to me.

Ten Stories ~ Ten Months ~ Ten Years 10th Anniversary Lumos recap

The Petulant Poetess has been celebrating its 10th anniversary by shining the light of Lumos! on stories that have been featured through the years.

Through 2015, every month--beginning with March and 2005--featured ten stories representing some of the best each year had to offer.

Continue to celebrate with us - may TPP continue to nurture writers and offer some of the best HP fanfic around for another ten years!

A Change in Staff

Hello, readers, authors and potential authors.

It is with a heavy heart that I need to inform you of a change of staff on The Peulant Poetess. Southern_Witch_69 will no longer be a part of the admin staff. Over the past few weeks since I stopped working the queue and began looking at the site and the goings-on behind the scenes more objectively, I realized how far the site has migrated from its original intent. Due to lack of mutual agreement, it was necessary for Southern_Witch_69 and TPP to part ways. Her contributions to the site will always be remembered with a grateful heart, and she will be missed.

Some of you will notice changes happening on the site in the near future. Our newest change is the implementation of a Yahoo Group, something that should have been done a long time ago. A LiveJournal Community has also been set up where site issues, events, and story updates will be posted; that is also something I've been wanting to do for some time, to effectively separate my LJ from being the TPP LJ. Both links are available for those of you who would like to check it out.

Going into the holidays, I wish each and every one of you a joyous season, whatever your holiday preferences are. And for the new year, a new outlook!

November Site Stats!

November Site Stats

This past month there have been 224 stories added to our Submissions Queue, Validated Authors have uploaded 124 stories, and of those, 38 of them were new stories rather than WIP updates, and 107 stories have been marked as complete. That means that the site now has 4749 stories (3990 completed) total for you to read. And what are stories without reviews? There were 4246 reviews given in November, and of those, the authors responded to 3200. We are so happy to welcome our 441 new members in November.
