Reviews for A Man's Best Friend
I don't recall this in canon. *grin* It's a good chapter. How much do I win if I say that the Potions teacher is Hermione? ^_~
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
How could it be? Eh?
fascinating chapter..who has given her the orders? and Sirius, you plonker....loving the story
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
All will be revealed... later.
Of course she takes bribes. As long as it comes from the place with the Golden Arches it's valid currrency.
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Makin' Donald's! Would she share a wine with me instead?
Response from sunny33 (Reviewer)
Well, I did send her a nice Marlborough Savvy once, and she liked that.
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Darn! My savvy is drunk... drunken... The bottle is empty.
Response from sunny33 (Reviewer)
Er... who's drunk then?
Very interesting plot here, I am completly intrigued. I am very much looking forward to read more. (And I loved the points taken from Potter for his behaviour, that was brililant)
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Thanks for the review. I hope you'll continue to enjoy it as it gets updated.

Do I say that often? Slap upside the head? If we keep talking back and forth with reviews, we can keep leaving Quaff hefty stars. And awesome emoticons. See?
Author's Response:
I need all the stars and emoticons I can get. Do you take bribes?
Still love the way James gets a metaphorical slap upside the head (as KPW would say).
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
He deserves a bit of a slapping.

Well done, can't wait for more.
Author's Response:
Thanks.
moving. very moving. it's a solid stand alone, are you thinking of continuing on? covering his trial, etc etc etc? I'd be interested if you did - or am at least curious as to why they shaved his head. prehaps some of his and remus's back story. thanks for you time and contribution.
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Thanks for reviewing. This story is complete and will be posted as I get it beta'd & validated.
*claps enthusiastically*I didn't think another chapter could be as fantastic as the last one, but you (and sunny33) have outdone yourself. Reading through this chapter right on the heels of the last one has left me breathless! I loved seeing Severus remember, and then questioning what he remembered, as his memories began to take shape in his mind. When will it dawn on him that the Potter he remembered her defending him to was James and not Harry?*claps some more* Thank you for sharing this story with us. It is one story that I can't wait for it to be updated again each and every time you post a new chapter. I am hopelessly hook on the tale!Beth

That's brilliant!
What a great chapter! The tension and timing in your writing really made this a joy to read. I was thrilled when Hermione asked, “Severus Snape, is that you? I thought I could smell you.” Fantastic writing! Now I wondering just who Megan's doctor is......hummmmmmmm?Well done.Beth

Thank you. It's hard for me to tell what's working, and what's not, so it's great to get your feedback.
Goddess, this was beautiful. Please keep up the good work. ^_^
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Aw shucks, thanks! I'm away to do a wee happy dance now!
Oh my god YES! I was delighted to see this go up, and wasn't disappointed in the least. I think you did a great job with the revelation scene, not too long and drawn-out, but still clear and retaining that feeling of a leaping, discovering thought process. Of course I already knew what was going to happen, but reading along I was just as excited as he was....now, when's she coming back?
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
So glad you're enjoying it. I can never tell if what goes on in my head sounds right when I write it down, so it's nice to hear it worked for you. Thanks for reviewing.
Oh my... the reality of the situation has come clear. But, where is Hermione now?Thank you for sharing~

She's still back there getting a beating from Voldemort, I think...
Yay, he remembers! Oh, no, he remembers! Hopefully there's time for him to do something. To be there when she appears to help her. Gads, hurry with the next update!
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
The whole story is complete, but Sunny and I have both been busy, so updates may be a little slow coming through the system.
Enlightenment can be rather traumatic at times. :)
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Aye!
Oh no! Poor Severus. How long is he going to have to wait? Surely current time and past time aren't the same, or he will be waiting forever. You wouldn't do that to him, would you? Would you? Would you put us him out of our his misery already!
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Oh, but I am evil, and the waiting shall be misery....
oh dear. Poor Severus. Oh I hope everything works out okay. How heart-breaking!
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
What has he done?
Response from mimmom (Reviewer)
I thought maybe you'd know the answer to that. LOL. I hope Charmaine can be helped once she's back to her own time!
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
There's no point looking to me for answers. I never have a flaming clue what's going on.
Response from mimmom (Reviewer)
somehow your story holds together despite this. LOL. Are the characters writing it for you?
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
The characters? Not sure if I'd trust any of them - a dead werewolf, a timetravelling poisoner... poisoneer, and a wizard with memory defecit - not a good combo!
He remembers! YAY. Took him long enough, silly boy.
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Sily boy, indeed.
Still love how she told old Snake-face off!. Will get onto that betaing tonight hopefully! :)
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Thanks, chook. You're a doll!
Wow! I am really liking this story, i read the first chapter and was caught... i couldn't stop reading until I came to the end. I hope you update soon!I think I will go check out all of your other stories now!
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Thanks very much. I'm delighted you're enjoying it. Once you've read my stuff, make sure you check out Sunny33's work. She's my beta and a far better, more prolific writer, than I am.
And it's a cliffie. Did she or didn't she? What did Remus do? Etc, etc, etc. (I'm channeling the King of Siam this evening.) *grin* Happy NaNoWriMo. ^_^
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
King of Siam? Having visions of dancing 'round bare-chested wearing harem pants. Etcetera, etcetera... Shall we dance?
Oh, was she truly dead and unable to return to the world she knew? That's so sad. I suppose you could say this is where the saga begins.Poor Severus.Thank you for sharing~
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
It is sad. A hard time for young Severus.
Oh Quaffie. I don't think I saw that one coming. I mean her going back into her own time-line presumably. I thought she was going to turn the tables on ole Snake-Face and vanquish him there and then. I loved the way you seamlessly blended canon into your story. Fantastic stuff. Best wishes, Love Ali xxx. PS Did I mention that I'm going to Dublin after my Tenerife holiday to see Mr Rickman on stage OR that my daughter who's doing her Masters in Edinburgh and working in a well-known coffee shop served Lucius Malfoy himself a couple of times early last week. Lucky mare. Her gay friend had to tell her who he was!
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
My jealousy knows no bounds. Thanks for the review.
Of course there was nothing for it. It had to happen but it hurts every time I think of it. Poor Snape, Lupin, Charmaine, Harry. I love the story, though. Excellent.
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
It's a bad time for all of them. Thanks for reviewing.
