When Snape receives a letter from a 'secret admirer', the correspondence proceeds in a manner that is anything but orthodox.

what a great start this is. i can't wait to read more.
The pranks are fantastic—you had me snickering all the way through them. The thought of Snape saying, "Ooh, look at all the pretty colours!" is hilarious in itself, though I'm actually almost surprised that it never happened in canon, considering what he taught for most of his years at Hogwarts. I'm looking forward to seeing more of this story.
brilliant, just one question, when does this take place?
I loved this! While I love my fluffy lovestories or dramatic dramastories, it is so great to every now and then to read a humourous fic laced with snarky comments, scheeming, hexes and curses when the both of them, Hermione and Severus, both gives as good as they get. :-)You have given the both of them a brilliant character and I do so look forward to read the rest of the story!!!
One question: did the howler fly over to Severus and shriek at him? or did MInerva run over and do same under magical compulsion? "It was addressed to Minerva, who opened it, and immediately flew over to Severus."---I love this, how very funny. Love your 'Tunnut' - like the expression I am so fond of, 'tupenny-ha'penny', which I use sometimes in spite of being American. I simply adore that expression, (Which is probably not used much now) and am delighted by your idea for a Wizarding equivalent. This is such fun and I so look forward to more. Thank you.

The Howler flew. The commas delimit the relative clause to 'who opened it.' In my understanding of syntax, anyway. ^_^I, too, like the old tuppence expression. I think I had this in my brain at that point: 'Penny plain and tuppence coloured.' (fr. Agatha Christie's N or M?)
Response from pookah (Reviewer)
Oh, I think I get it! if you hadn't placed that comma there, it would have been, "It was addressed to Minerva, who opened it (no comma here) and immediately flew over to Severus." Then it would have been MInerva dashing over to scold. Thank you for clearing that up for me. This is why I will never offer to beta. Like many Americans. I never really studied English Grammar.
That is too funny. I can't wait to see the rest.
I love this idea! I could totally see them courting each other like this. With their intelligence and senses of humor, it's understandable that they have not succeeded with finding a partner in the Real World. I look forward to reading the rest of this. I wonder what ZS stands for. I assume it will be revealed when appropriate.
Response from Ladymage Samiko (Author of What I Want My Words to Do to You)
Actually, ZS is totally random. I think my reasoning was that Snape would decode any hidden meanings fairly quickly… I think. Glad you enjoyed it!
Two words: ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS! There's more than one way to insure someone's interest...
Haha... I can just imagine what the look on Severus' face was when that Howler went off. LOL... I love that Hermione is keeping him on his toes with those pranks.
Lol! This is great stuff. I'm so glad you decided to post it :)
Terrific. I can just imagine them indulging in hex-based courtship!
That was a wonderful story. Such fun.
This is so much fun!!!
What a lovely courtship. Thank you for relaing it in such an entertaining and satisfying fashion.
"...and would have turned her a brilliant shade of blue with screaming orange hair." That part cracked me up. That totally reminds me of a specific prank in the movie 'Big Fat Liar' starring Amanda Bynes and someone else that I can't remember the name of. oh well.
I enjoyed this very much. Thanks for sharing.
This story is absolutely brilliant!! I love it to bits. Your wonderful, descriptive, realistic writing style has endeared this work to me and has made a very deep impression. The progression of the characters' relationship is artfully done and I congratulate you whole heartedly. I wish you the best of luck with future works, I also hope to see more of your works soon.
I like it very much but wonder what MP and MDA means in "Professor Severus C. Snape, MP. MDA. OoM. 1st class".
Response from Ladymage Samiko (Author of What I Want My Words to Do to You)
MP = Master of PotionsMDA = Master of Defense Against the Dark Arts

Stupid me *slap head* I sould have thought it myself. I can be very dense sometimes

Interesting plot points in this chapter, although I think my favorite part was all of the different ways they signed their letters.
Oh, now I feel kind of cheated that we didn't get to see the letter where he actually asked her out for a specific time and place. But her befuddlement at his comment almost makes up for it.
This is very entertaining. I was a bit surprised at the minimal reactions from each of them about Hermione's identity, but I think that understated works for them.
I enjoyed reading this. Thanks!
It was an enjoyable read, everything except the epilogue. Nothing lasts and everybody dies, yes, but I don't like to be reminded of it in fanfiction, especially when it isn't necessary.
Charming. Love it.
This was amazing -- thank you for writing this story!!! I love Hermione burning their letters in order to save Severus's public image. That was so touching!
