it is so refreshing to read something other than Harry Potter fics every once in a while  don't get me wrong  I looovvvvee HPFF stories it just a nice change of pace

Response from Melenka (Author of Gauntlet)

I wish more people would take the chance on original work - and not just mine, though a good friend points out that they can get original work at a bookstore, whilst HPFF is only found on line.

His neice is a clever girl  I like her  she will keep him even more on his toes than Deira

Response from Melenka (Author of Gauntlet)

I sometimes wonder if she shouldn't have a book all her own. :)

Response from Arabella Bloodgood (Reviewer)

Oh pretty please maybe after you finish this gem  she could be a spinoff

oh this was brilliant

Response from Melenka (Author of Gauntlet)

Why, thank you!  Katya sort of insisted on being more than a voice on the phone, and you see how she gets when she's being insistent...

I  bet Deira listen to Gage now huh and you using Jehovah's Witnesses was awesome.  You have a great imagination.

Response from Melenka (Author of Gauntlet)

She might listen to him about that, but I wouldn't bet on her meekly following orders.  About 4 months after I wrote this scene, I saw a JW bus in a parking lot, but I didn't have my camera.  I would so have loved to use that for the chapter art.

Response from Arabella Bloodgood (Reviewer)

ah that would have been perfect  I don't think the local chapter has a bus at least i have never seen one

I could never do his line of work.  I couldn't keep up with all the alias which name i would be using with which person  I would give myself away

Response from Melenka (Author of Gauntlet)

He really only has two.  For criminal enterprises, it's just Gage, and in his head, that's who he is.  For legitimate business, his name is Charles Randall, which is actually his legal name.  No one alive knows his given name.

these two are made for each other there are things in life you might not want to do but you have to

Response from Melenka (Author of Gauntlet)

He has done many things he did not want to do.  That's why he makes sure he's never in a situation where he has no choice.  And yes, they are well suited, though hardly what one would consider an ideal couple.

Some times I'm not sure how to take Gage.  He is a very complex character.  I like that.

Wow to have friends like that.

Response from Melenka (Author of Gauntlet)

Which ones?  The sort that give you their identity or the kind that teaches you how to kill?

Response from Arabella Bloodgood (Reviewer)

both are good to have in some cases

I love it.  Its interesting and not about HP.  I really like it so far.

Response from Melenka (Author of Gauntlet)

I'm glad.  I know a lot of people don't read the original stuff, so I appreciate you giving it a chance.

She has every right to be pissed.  Man, this story has me hooked.

Response from Melenka (Author of Gauntlet)

She is in a rather difficult situation, considering that everyone he's dealt with so far is in debt to him and not one of them is trying to kill him to get out of it.

Where do you get your  pixs at the beginning of your chapters?  They are brilliant.  Not just on this story either.

Response from Melenka (Author of Gauntlet)

I find photos that interest me and modify them with photoshop.  And I know a few body builders. :)

Great stuff. Leaves one wondering if Gage is good, bad, or somewhere between.

Response from Melenka (Author of Gauntlet)

All three.  :)  I do my best to flesh out that answer as the story progresses.  I hope you continue to read it.

Nice chapter.  I like this little hint: '“I would never ask you to do anything you are not willing to do.” 'That doesn’t narrow the field much. She wisely kept quiet. Some things he didn’t need to know.'Does this mean there will be a sequel where Gage commandeers Diera around in uber secret ninja warfare because she won't refuse him?  Ummm, because that would be fun too. ;)I like the little hints you drop about your characters like this one.  It makes me curious and curious makes me read.  Good job!  And thanks for sharing your writing!

Response from Melenka (Author of Gauntlet)

LOL  No fair throwing out plot bunnies and running!  It's hard enough knowling I have to let go of them at the end.Thank you for your kind critique - and for continuing to read.

okay, what is that nicky up to?  i want to know.  i liked that the tables seem to have turned a bit with gage and deira as far as their personal relationship goes.  and that she was having the thought that he didn't need to know about.  (i hope that makes sense!)

Response from Melenka (Author of Gauntlet)

It makes perfect sense.  She's learning to be more like him. As for Nicky, well, we know that she's running a second contract, which is trouble enough.  Stick around and your question will be answered. ;)
