Hermione is forced to lead a double life when she agrees to Dumbledore's plan to protect Professor Snape. Inspired by the Marriage Law. Warning for student/teacher relationship, though Hermione is of age.

Reviews for Second Life
I really hope those two can work everything out.
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
Thanks for reviewing. I hope so too!
I'm sorry. Here it's rather late and I'm seriously lacking of brain to say something more clever. I hate it to just say: "it's good, I like it" even if it's true.
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
That's all you ever have to say. It's as good as gold, seriously. Thanks for reviewing. I always appreciate it.
Awwwww. The ending of this chapter was just so... just lovely. Something Severus deserves completely - having someone to care for him, not for the information he can bring or the use he can be, but simply for him.
And I like the way she's catching on fast! Not that I'd have expected anything else from her.
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
I hope it's not going *too* fast. They began to understand each other before I thought they would. whoops.
I'm glad you liked the chapter. It felt good to finally write something borderline tender. Thanks for reading and reviewing!
I"ve said it before and I'll say it again, I love how you're working the real story in with yours. It feels very clever. And it's making me think of all the twists and things you could take in DH.Dumbledore again is bugging me and even though it's highly unlikely, I would love to see Snape get a vacation from his masters with or without Hermione. Thank you for the update, looking forward to the next chapter.
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
Thank you so much. Yes, I'm having a good time planning out the DH chapters.
I fear that Dumbledore will continue to bug you for some time now. :) But then, we all know what happens. lol.
I loved how Severus's plans were executed! And the resentment towords Dumbledore seems so true to what I'd expect in canon......very good.
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
Thank you! I'm glad it's ringing true for you. :)
Awww. Hermione is so smart. And Albus Dumbledore is an idiot for taking Severus for granted.
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
It was kind of an awwww...chapter wasn't it? Well, I had to write one sooner or later. Thank you so much for reviewing.
yeah another wonderful chapteryou just keep me hanging on i really am enjoying this story i cant wait to see what happens next thank you
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
Thank you! Your review is making me jump for joy, as usual.
I'm enjoying this fic so far, all those secrets and double life, difficult relationship, etc.
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
Thank you! I'm really glad that you're enjoying it. It's a pleasure to write. Thank you for reviewing!
Wow, Severus really pushed her hard, but I think she will be ready when the time comes.

If Hermione is so worried that Severus would be in more danger because of her, why doesn't she use a pensieve and store her memories from that day and night so they can't be viewed via Legilimency? Of course she'd have to remove her ring first so she wouldn't be reminded that way ... and of course then she would probably think of herself as a single woman and free to date again... nothing like a little angst to irritate Severus some more;)
Loving the story!
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
I'm glad you're liking the story! I know it's canon that when a memory is kept in the pensieve, it's no longer in your head, but I just don't buy that. Did Snape suddenly not hate Harry's father anymore when his worst memory was in the pensieve? Memories are always touching and tainting each other. I don't think you could ever remove something like that completely. Ok, I just went on and on about that. :) Thanks for reading and reviewing!

He is such a liar. He hasn't given her the real reason why he were looking for this particular memory. What he said was probably part of the truth but not his first goal. I'm not fooled in the slightest, contrary to Hermione, and I'm currently trying to figure out why he has lied to her so obviously. I maybe have a little idea but I keep it to myself, not to influence you. ;p
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
Of course he's a liar. :) And you're right, he's a liar who knows it's most believable when you lie with the truth.
I'm glad you're liking the story. :)

It seems Hermione has more to defend than just her memories. Now sha needs to protect Snape from her emotions so that he can protect himself from MouldyVoldy!
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
Good old MouldyVoldy...always complicating things. :) Thanks for reviewing!

Looking forward to each new chapter!

Yes, every story deals with it sometime, don't they? Ah, well. I'm glad you liked it anyway. :) Thanks for reading!

Severus - always the constant doubter. He could have hurt her pushing so hard but it seems like a thing he would do if he really wanted to know. Good chapter

Yes, that's how I read it, too. Thank you!!

Great Chapter as usual!
I love how you have portrayed Hermione in this story. She remains a young, brave, clever girl, who doesn't lose her identity just because she is falling in love with SS.
The writing and the plot are fantastic as well! Well done!

Another great chapter; loving your strong Hermione and realalistic Snape. AU, but still the play of cannon. :-)
They both have these budding feelings for each other that they must hide (remarkably written by the way)....let's get this war over with and get to the smut errr..relationship parts! Enjoying your emotional roller coaster ride; with I'm sure more to come!
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
Thank you so much! This review means a lot to me. I won't make you wait too much longer for the er...relationship parts. :)

Oh, my. Poor Hermione. And Severus, well, he has so much he has to deal with.
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
It's true; it's an enormous burden for both of them. Hopefully, we will soon see some collateral happiness. :)

This was so, so good -- the way the dialogue crackles between them, the mixed motives with which Snape goes after Hermione's memories, and Hermione's quick grasp of the tightrope they're both walking. Looking forward to the next installment.

Yep, more interesting all the time. I also like how Hermione is reluctant to pursue her relationship w/ Snape further so as not to put him in more danger, and how Snape is desperate to see the extent of her feelings for him. Yeah, Hermione is wise to recognize that she is putting him in more danger w/the DL, but they're both targets anyway. I guess I'm just a soppy romantic who believes that love can conquer all.
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
:) Thank you! I am also a soppy romantic. I'm just holding it at bay (for right now).

Thank you so much for the update, it is just as brilliantly written as the others. This is truly a great story, I am totally smitten with it! I find I like that Severus was so desperate to see her memories from their wedding nigth, it showed Hermione that he cared about what she felt about it, and I adored that you had her knowing just what he was looking for. The building of the plot is brilliant and I hope that when the dreadful day comes that Severus must have to do what he is forced to do, he will know that he has someone faithful he can trust! Update again soon!!!

Interesting, we normally see Snape cut Hermione off, now it's the other way around...I like this. I also like what you've done with their spell work. Not sure exactly how to say it, but it feels as if you've given some thought to how the spells would actually work...anyway, it just seems well thought out.

Too bad they won't admit to each other that they desire the other person. Now Hermione won't even want to pursue a relationship, since doing so might harm Severus. Hopefully their future lessons turn out better.
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
Those two never admit to anything! :) I hope you enjoy their future lessons.

Oh, dear. Looks like Hermione is putting Severus's first lesson in duplicity into use. I can't wait to see where you are taking this.

Thanks! And you're right--Severus himself said she was a quick study. :) I hope you continue to enjoy it.
