Hermione is forced to lead a double life when she agrees to Dumbledore's plan to protect Professor Snape. Inspired by the Marriage Law. Warning for student/teacher relationship, though Hermione is of age.

Grape Forever!
Reviews for Second Life
Oh that last line was priceless! Leave it to Hermione to give Severus some ammo to doubt her ability to cope with the charade. Their coupling has to be the most realistic that I have ever read! It was such a delight to read it in a way that people actually do experience it, rather than the fantasy of how they'd like it to be that people tend to write it as. If that makes any sense, I'm amazed, lol... Anyway, wonderful chapter, and I do hope we get to see how awkward tomorrow's DADA class is!
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
DADA coming right up! Thank you so much for such a lovely review.
I'm torn between envying Hermione and feeling sorry for her! It's obvious she was affected by what happened (naturally!) - hiding it all, behaving like "normal" won't be easy, I'd assume.
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
Of course not. But our Hermione is a Gryffindor. :) She'll give it back in spades.
I know that Hermione seemed affected by their lovemaking, but I wonder about Severus. Is there a specific reason he wants her in class the next day, other than the reasons he's given? Since they are finished consummating their relationship, I wonder if they will decide to continue anything. I guess it's supposed to be secret and only to protect Severus (or really Harry).
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
Only time shall tell...:) Thank you for reading and responding.
Oi, what a final taunt. I can only imagine how hard it is for Severus, but he is being completely selfish and not realizing what Hermione is having to deal with. But that is completely in character for Severus, at least how I see him.
Good job!
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
I am glad that I am writing Severus as you see him. He's such a multifaceted bastard! ;) Thanks for reviewing.
Wow, that was awesome. Hermione not playing the sad, scared victim, but then Snape not backing down either (doing the - I'll be mean to her because I hate myself - thing). I really liked them both standing their ground like that.
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
Thank you!
What a cliff-hanger ;-)))
Do proceed, Professor.
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
hehehehe. :)
It's such an awful situation for both of them, really - having been guilted / pretty much forced into it by Dumbledore, all for the "war effort".
So it's good to see Severus isn't making it any more difficult for her than it already is - at least he seems determined to make the best of the worst, while it's still possible. And Hermione's such a brave Gryffindor! ;-) I just hope they can work together also once the necessary part has been taken care of - whatever the purpose Dumbledore had in mind, I do believe having someone to care for, and someone to care for him, will be good for Severus.
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
Thank you for the review! Yes, to me, it always seemed that everyone made rather unbearable sacrifices for the war effort, but I do hope these two will make the best of it.
I'm ready to proceed! (lol) He's such a Cunning. Linguist. *smirk* more, more! pls. update soon.
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
He is, isn't he? *snerk* More is in the queue!
Wow, this story is really good so far. Hermione and Severus seem to be getting along pretty well, given the circumstances. I think they're well suited for each other. I also noticed that Severus seems to desire Hermione, despite his previous thoughts. I wonder if he will go back to his usual self post-coitus. I'm looking forward to the next chapter.
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
Thanks! I agree that they are well suited to one another. I hope you enjoy the next chapter.
Holy Snot, it is just cruel to leave me hanging like this!! Please tell me you have an update coming??!!
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
I'm an evil, evil woman. :) It's in queue as we speak.
Wow Lariope! This story is so well written, I feel I could leave a review for each sentence! What strikes me the most is your ability to keep the two protagonists in character with your choice of words and dialogue. Well done!Obviously I enjoyed the sex scene too but for me it's all the little details that make it so compelling. For example this exchange between the two of them cleverly shows the many layers of their personality.“It doesn’t matter. I would have done it anyway, even if he’d put it like that.”He looked at her now, long and hard, taking the measure of the girl who was his wife. There was a steely, defiant look in her eyes. At least there was some cold comfort in the notion that she’d thought she was doing it for him.“As would I, Miss Granger.”Her look softened. “You didn’t know either,” she said.Anyway, I won't really review each line but I just wanted to let you know that I am really enjoying this! I am trying to weave my own story SS/HG story and I find it very difficult to keep them in character...so I really admire you for doing it so well! Thanks for sharing your talents!
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
*hugs for you* Thank you so much. I'm afraid of going out of character more than anything. That was a particularly moving exchange to me; I'm glad that it struck you the same way.
Brilliant! By the time I had finished this chapter my mouth was hanging open and I was almost drooling. I am so in need of a time turner and Snape!
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
Hurrah! I'm glad! Sorry about the drool. And if you get the Ministry to approve a Time-Turner, let me know. I'm next in line.
Somehow, your sex scene came off as different, in a good way. maybe it is the use of Severus's point of view. I really like that.
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
Thanks! I appreciate that.
Severus seems to be a very good instructor.
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
Wouldn't he be, though? :) Thanks for reviewing.
Hey, happy birthday, Hermione. Brilliant stuff. Both of them are true to form and fiery. Looking forward to lots more.

Another promising beginning on how DH should have turned out for our favorite potions master. Snape certainly deserves someth- er, -one for all of his sacrifices. . .!

*fans self*
Well, I began reading tonight because my attention was caught by the idea of a relatively compliantish/au-ish fic with a forced marriage between Hermione and Snape. :) And thus far I am very much enjoying the story. I hope that you post more soon for I fully intend to read.
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
I am so glad that you're reading! I hope you continue to enjoy it. More is in the queue.

How unkind of you to stop there.
*pouts*
I was just chatting with Ariadne last night about how Dumbledore exploits people and gets them to do the things he should have taken care of himself. Then, here I find your fine piece of writing, which starts at one of the points I was arguing, with a unique twist.
Looking forward to where this is headed. Happy writing author!
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
I am an evil, evil person. :)I'm glad my story meshes up with your view of things, and I hope you continue to enjoy it. Thanks for reviewing!

Poor Severus--quickly, now! You must write the next chapter and put him (and us) out of his misery!

Loved the latest - the initial bedroom scene - I need a fan - whoa. I cannot wait for Severus's next instruction. You definitely know how to write a great sex scene.

Thanks! I hope you enjoy part two.

Wow. If I were Hermione, those bonding words would put me ill at ease to say the least. :) Although... if I were Hermione Granger, I guess I'd be smart enough to know what a sexy man I had just married LOL
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
LOL! How true! Thanks for the review.
