Great chapter, I had a feeling that things were going to be different for Hermione in her future (present?).

but...she's seen Draco as a baby! 

I love Luna. Really. So, I can't wait to see what Hermione decides to do.

Good chapter - the scene with her and Crooks and then Severus with Lucius - you can feel the discontent of them being apart. Well, whatever she did in the past still has not kept him alive so what will happen next - only the author knows - smile.

Eeeek!  ::hopeful whimper::  You mean, you mean... she might really *stay* with him???  ::SQUEE::

I feel so sorry for Hermione. How can she stand to live in the present when she doesn't know her past or anyone else's. Perhaps Draco seems to act like Severus because Severus played a larger part in Draco's life this time around. Or, perhaps Draco and Severus switched sides, so that it was really Draco who died.I hope that Hermione decides to stay with Severus. She's already screwed up the past so much that the present isn't really her present. Besides, I cannot imagine what it would be like for Severus if Hermione decides not to stay with him. Hopefully they are both willing and able to express their love to each other during their next meeting.

Tremendiously engaging.  I enjoy how your writing has made a story (that could have spun into a trope-riffic mess) first on my list of stories I'm following.  Just the right amount of wit, whimsy, and romance.  And extra points for a little bit of sexy Draco.

But dark eyes and dark hair always win out. My heart bleeds for poor Severus, feeling guilty over his words and treatment of Hermione. Send her back next chapter, please!

Very odd... very very odd... and glad I was introduced to this when it's already posted up to chapter 15 so I can run off to the next and find out what's going on here LOL

Loved this line: Pericles Prince had been a crafty, distrustful man who had woven secrets into everyday life just for the sake of being devious. And loved the fight scenes especially when she tackled the Auror. I don't know who I feel most sorry for at the end of the chapter, Severus or Hermione... (I had an odd image pop into my head when Dumbledore showed up, of him tick-sized and Severus squashing him flat... Just thought I'd share.) Looking forward to the next!

Any pause in your amazing narrative is a cliffhanger, my dear. Thank you for this enthralling installment--your exploration of Severus's inner thoughts remains completely compelling. I can't say often enough how much I love this story. You are very, very talented.

I wonder what Hermione is going to do about this predicament. Maybe depending on where the shop is, she can claim ignorance of the location. They'll still probably want to apparate as close to the shop as possible.I like the way Severus sulks compared to Ron. It definitely fits his character. Plus I like how he argued about Hermione wanting to fly with Remus. He was rather surprised when she showed a willingness to share his broom instead.The comment about Hermione being a cat person rather than a dog person was cute. I never would have thought of that myself.

Well, you lifted the story  and pasted so you have a double here rather then a single, its good though!

Oh yes, Hermione's going to be in trouble, and even Lupin might not be lenient with her about this. BTW I'm probably not the first one to tell you, but you pasted your chapter twice.

you did a great job in this chapter of writing all that awful tension and competition between the boys, and of showing hermione's being herself and balancing in that space where she respects both of them. (she must be pretty exhausted from that balancing act!) this sentence caught me: 'Heidi’s loyalty stirred in him a quiet longing for something he couldn’t quite name.' and when she thought about how short his life would be, and how lonely. heartbreaking.

then on the other side, there's this to make me laugh: 'Lupin gave her a forlorn look, reminiscent of a puppy that had just been caught chewing on a lady’s favorite pair of pumps. Unfortunately for Lupin, Severus thought with satisfaction, Heidi was a cat person.'

such a nice mix of emotionality and humor. i guess this is all a long way of saying, i'm still loving this story!

I have so loved reading this story, and now you have pulled me in even deeper.  Your turns of phrase are so witty and original, and you manage to inject humour into a story that could be very angsty and dark.  On to Canterbury! (and that damned fan...) :)

Yikes!  Lets hope Hermione can worm her war out of this one.  Perhaps 'I come from canterbury, I never said I lived there. Haven't for years in fact' lolOh and btw you get to "She had never been to Canterbury."and then it repeats the chapter from the begining.

This story has to be (yes, I'm going to say it) online right now. The plot is amazing, I especially love the pace. The suspense and anxiousness is killing me! Your rendetion of the characters is so realistic and insightful. It's just a amazing fic! Keep up the good work!P.S. Way to post consistently! You rock!

ROFL... the author's note was the perfect sentiment for the chapter. It sounds liek she is going to have to give Severus a little different information. (I wouldn't say more information since that would just lead to even more questions.)

Whoops!  The chapter posted twice!  But -great chap never the less.  Hermione should have known the golden rule - always put a modicum of truth into your lies, it makes it harder to get caught in them.  I can't wait for the next chapter!
