Deathly Hallows Prompts 6 and 8.
6. The kids leave after Snape dies. He sits up and realizes he is a ghost. (I changed this to a portrait instead of a ghost.)
8. As Hermione, Ron, and Harry watch Snape die, Hermione is devastated because she has been secretly in love with him. (The prompt calls for Hermione to use a Time-Turner to go back and rescue Severus, but I wanted to comply with the book and see if I could write a story where Hermione develops a strong, loving friendship with the Severus Snape she meets as a portrait many years later.)
Time: After the Epilogue. Place: Hogwarts. Hermione is teaching at Hogwarts and is Deputy Headmistress to Minerva McGonagall. Her children, Rose and Hugo, live at Hogwarts with her; her husband Ron manages the All-England Quidditch League. When Minerva McGonagall dies, Hermione is appointed Headmistress and moves in to the Head’s office.

Oh my gosh, how sweet and so sad at the same time. *wipes tear* they finally confess thier love and can't really do anything about it. *sigh*

I very much enjoyed this story. For me, it started off rather slowly, picked up quite nicely and became focused, and ended touchingly. I also really enjoyed seeing a relaxed Draco.

Oh how sad to wait 95 years to be with the one that you love - tears. I so wished they could have found a way to be together earlier but it was a good story.
A very good ending to this story. I have to admit you did an excellent job with a very difficult challenge.

I couldn't find a way to write it into the story, but the foundation idea in my mind is that at some point-probably shortly after her appointment to Headmistress-Hermione would have sat for her official portrait. Maybe it could be painted when she was appointed, and then the charms cast when she died, to allow the portrait to "wake up" and then it would be like any other-she could move from portrait to portrait and do whatever the other charmed portraits could do. Still a brief epilogue to post:) It's been sent in and I am waiting to make whatever corrections are necessary:) Won't be long, I think our moderators are really working hard to get through the queue of challenge stories before the voting ends. They spoil us like that:)-HBV
I still think it is very sad to be in love with some one you can never be with, even though that love is reciprocated. At least they do have each other's company.
Great chapter - there admission of love was heart wrenching because of the circumstance but a great conversation none the less.
Great chapter - in love but cannot be - how tragic. I hope something changes for them.
Poor Hermione and Severus - Her alive and him as a portrait when it all shows that in life they could have been happy together - so sad for them.
I loved it that Severus went by portrait to Draco's and Draco got Hermione a great attorney. The interactions with Lucius portrait were good as well.
Great way to announce her new position -Ron's actions are not looking very good. Something is definitely going on.
The interaction with the girls - gosh I got all teary eyed... that was good writing.
