Reviews for An Unwitting Romance
This is a fantastic story - the way you have loneliness portrayed is haunting,
Wonderful! I just love magic! Lucky Hermione. Where in the world could a woman more safe, needed and I dare say, ...desired than with Severus Snape- Wizard Most Puissant, Genius, Master Spy and Potions Master Exctraordinaire. And they lived happily ever after, I hope.
Well written. Cute ending!
Such a clever way to bring them together and to explore Snape's character. Lovely!
I read this via the sshg_quiz - and I'm so glad I did. This was beautifully drawn and executed, and I rooted for them all the way. *sigh* A fic that left me feeling hopeful and full of light...
A darkness within making a darkness without. Wonderful! Favourite line: However, strange circumstances sometimes are the parents of strange occurrences, and this most certainly was a strange circumstance. I look forward to reading more of your work.
I loved it! I've always thought of Hermione as fairly intuitive and you captured that very well. I really feel for poor Severus, being in such angst that he doesn't even realize he's imprisoned in his own mind! He must fear it horribly to not think of it later when he's safe. I'm so glad he has Hermione now to help him through the hard times and never have to go back to the dark again!
Very romantic ending.
Great work! What a sweet sotry! It really made me smile all the time!
Can i have your permission for translating it into Chinese?Because i want more people to enjoy it.

Fluffy, angsty, and altogether very yummy. Excellent job!

Thank you. Fluffy is how I'd definitely describe it too.

Nice story, and very fascinating idea you had! The end overtaxes my personal ooc-acceptance for Snape a bit, but it's so well written that I don't mind.
Author's Response: LOL ... I like that: "overtaxes my personal ooc-acceptance for Snape". I must remember that phrase.
True, true, he does get a little OOC in this story. I claim momentary insanity because I do like my Snape rather in-character.
I hope that is the end of his despairing darkness.

I like to imagine that Hermione helped dispel the darkness permanently.

What an interesting story - his darkness and despair took on a real form and manifested around him and Hermione. The holding and clinging to each other reflected their need to be with someone to care for them. The kiss that they shared was stirring and then him leading her into his quarters to talk - it was great. I loved it.

Thank you! I really enjoyed writing this smut-less story, and actually just did some revising on it, so I am happy you liked it!
Though I'm not so sure, Hermione would behave in that way I liked this story very much. It has its subtle charm which makes it easy and fun to read.

Thank you. It is true that sometimes I don't keep my characters "in-character", but it is fun to play with them a little bit.
Nice. Very nice.
This was fun and you made me very much feel for this Snape.

*lol* You must be reading all my stories this weekend. I'm glad you are enjoying yourself!

Well, ones I hadn't gotten to before--and Potions Under Duress in general from earliest to latest. It's fun finding authors and stories you like you've missed and it usually takes 3 para to know you've hit a bad one so you just hit back button

It makes me happy to know that there is so much to read now. When I first loaded my stories so long ago (a year and a half!), there wasn't much. It's nice to know that there are so many authors and stories now to choose from!
This is the 2nd time I have read through this one shot. It is still as moving as it was the first time. I like the idea that his depression became tangable and pulled Hermione in with him.

Thank you. I'm happy that this story invokes such a response and that you read it a second time.
er? What was so NC-17 about that? I love your one over on the Dark Mark and I love this pairing.(I am Hermione Snape on the Dark Mark!)This was great and I want MORE!
Response from notsosaintly (Author of An Unwitting Romance)
You're absolutely right. I have no idea how that rating got on there. I fixed it. Was going to make it an R, but decided PG-13 was fine. I guess I am so used to checking off the NC-17 rating, that it's a habit. *smirk*
grins.....Hermione gets to have all the fun....
What a clever story, so tender and funny. Severus' dialog is especially witty. Would love to read the sequel but beautifully done as is!
I'd forgotten about this fic and how much I adore it. I don't suppose you've ever considered expanding it a bit? Please! :)
Response from notsosaintly (Author of An Unwitting Romance)
You know, that might not be a bad idea. A sequel, I think, would be in order perhaps after I finish Letting Go and Tutoring Session. I wanted to look through this one and edit it up a bit; perhaps ideas will be forthcoming when I do.
Wonderful written, very very intense. In the dark, without the normality of seeing something, anything, the diverting "normality" isn´t there anymore, and the truly important thoughts or emotions, the core of the things, come out. I´m immensely touched from this piece of work. Thanks a lot.
this is wonderful
The emotions are very intense. His despair made visible through the all consuming darkness, her compassion that brings back the light.
