Reviews for Sage
Funny that I should read this chapter tonight after watching Acciobook7's vid which is based on a song from Beauty & the Beast. Small fandom huh?I think this is just the most perfect note in the whole chapter: “You never desist, do you?”Rose grinned. “I blame my genetics.”Both women laughed. " Its a mother daughter moment and we as readers feel a part of it because Hermione's relentlessness is well known. Makes me feel part of the family ya know?PS: I wonder if that cat Hermione saw is Severus' animangus form? Not that you'll tell me if I was right. ((pouts))
Response from lady_rhian (Author of Sage)
Well, HG/SS is well in the vein of Beauty & the Beast. And considering the likenesses between Hermione and Belle, it would not surprise me if many of our fandom shared a certain favorite fairy tale.
And this: "Its a mother daughter moment and we as readers feel a part of it because Hermione's relentlessness is well known. Makes me feel part of the family ya know?" -- Thank you so much, my dear. That honestly touched me. I'm in a bit of a sentimental mood today, and you just really put a smile on my face there. If the story reaches out and grabs you and your emotion, my work is done.
Looking forward to your thoughts on chapter eight. :-)
That's the nice thing about bookmarks....I was still informed when you updated. I really enjoyed this chapter mainly because of the 'girl talk'.
Response from lady_rhian (Author of Sage)
I enjoy the 'girl talk,' too. :-) I also love TPP's bookmarks. Their queue moves so quickly that the stories fly. Thank you for taking the time to review, m'dear.
I am back! I will be reading your chapters here at the Poetess because it has everything this fan girl needs, font adjustment, update notification etc... Hermione does not want to replace Harry & Ron? Huh? OH WAIT this is the past right? She has scampered off to Paris on a Snape sighting. its all coming back to me now. BTW I demand more Cosette. She is a powerhouse.
Response from lady_rhian (Author of Sage)
Oh, darling! I am so pleased to see you again. And yes, TPP is outstanding.
Yes, it's the past. And I am so pleased you love Cosette - I absolutely adore her. It's like empowering Ginny only better because she's my own creation and I can do whatever I like with her. :-) She will appear again, to be sure.
Thank you for reading and reviewing, doll!
Response from MollysSister (Reviewer)
I am sorry for my missing in action fan girl behavior. I was seduced by the exchange, and then I was coding for them and then I couldnt even remember my own name. Whew!
EVIL!!! how can you leave us hanging like that?!?! just when it was getting goooood. i hope the next chapter is up soon!!! i'm so excited! it's been awhile since you've updated and you leave us with that?? harsh! i might be able to forgive you if you update soon ;)
anyways, lovely job sweetie! i love your story and your characters, esp. Cosette, she's so much fun!
Response from lady_rhian (Author of Sage)
Evil? Moi? *grins* I'm so pleased you enjoyed the chapter, dear! My university studies keep me exceedingly busy - I have three majors and am pursuing honors as well - and RL must come first. You will be pleased, however, to know that, as I'm on a brief break right now, I've spent most of today writing chapter nine. The first draft is well underway. :-)
Haha... poor thing was so completely overwhelmed that she passed out cold. How mortifying!
Response from lady_rhian (Author of Sage)
Indeed - it'd be quite horrific. Thank you for reading, love! It's good to see you. :-)
It's funny I'm studying abroad in Florence now and am just about to leave for Paris for the Spring break. Also, not everything closes during siesta in Florence, just small buisnesses so no worries :) Keep up the good work! PS I would love to run into Severus Snape right here in Firenze ;)
Response from lady_rhian (Author of Sage)
What a lovely coincidence! Alas, I have never been to Florence or Paris, so you must tell me how the descriptions line up. :-) And yes, I would love to run into Severus in a foreign country as well... what a decadent experience that would be.
Of all the people to meet in Firenze, it had to be Severus Snape, who had been too aware of her snooping around.
Response from lady_rhian (Author of Sage)
Quite. :-) This will certainly be very interesting! Thank you so much, m'dear.
You are a gifted writer. The characters are believable and interesting, and the development of the plot is a joy. I can't wait to read more!
Response from lady_rhian (Author of Sage)
Thank you very much! I'm so pleased you're enjoying it. :-)
I am very excited by this story, I hope you will be able to update soon.
Response from lady_rhian (Author of Sage)
Thank you, dear! Alas, RL just got pretty crazy, so it may be a bit before an update comes, but I am quite glad that you've enjoyed it!
wow, two updates in pretty quick succession after such a long wait! what a treat! i like how things are developing. i'm glad hermione laid off on the search for severus for the time being, having realized her obsession was getting out of hand. i also like your descriptions of people, places and things - easy to visualize.i see that you say it will be a longer wait for chapter 8 - but i hope not too long! i'm dying to see what happens when she finally meets up with severus!
Response from lady_rhian (Author of Sage)
Thank you, love! I'm so pleased that you're enjoying the story. And yes, the meet-up is coming! I'm a bit swamped with class at the moment, thus the potential wait on chapter eight, but it's definitely brewing in my mind right now. I'm looking forward to your future thoughts. :-)

What with the exchange going on, I'm running late in my reading. Hermione's made a wise decision by leaving Severus alone. It seems she'll get a reward out of it.
Response from lady_rhian (Author of Sage)
Yes, I think so, too. Hermione's quite uncomfortable with the level her obsession has grown to. It's wise that she step back, and, like she said, you find the things you're looking for when and where you least expect them... And thank you for your continued assistance with the French translations. It is so appreciated!

You're welcome. Just one thing: when you credit me, I'd rather you credit

Great lead into the next chapter.
I love the thought of the exclusive village. It sounds positively charming. The way you opened with the fairy tale book was lovely. Great update!
Response from lady_rhian (Author of Sage)
Thank you, dear. I am so glad you enjoyed the fairy tale portion. :-) Can't wait to hear what you think of chapter eight.

ahh! did you have to stop right at this point?! please update soon! i usually do not read post-Hogwarts decades and decades later, but you, my dear, have got me hooked! your story and your characters are fascinating! i especially like Cosette. she's tough and beautiful all at once - for some reason an image of Lucy Lui in Charlie's Angels popped in my head when you were describing her - petite, in stilettos, but she can totally kick ass! LOL. anyways, well done! keep it up!
Response from lady_rhian (Author of Sage)
Thank you so much for those lovely compliments - I am very pleased that I've "hooked" you! :-) I agree, actually, in that I rarely read post-decades, children-esque fiction, but the timeline in DH's epilogue (five years between graduation and Hr/Ron's marriage) was just irresistible. And I love the Charlie's Angels reference - Cosette is very Lucy Liu, isn't she? Thank you again for the wonderful reviews; comments like that really make my day. Best wishes.

Well, you ARE evil, after all. Breaking your tale off, just at that point! Once again, the settings and descriptions are lovely, and Hermione's epiphany about her search is very persuasive. And gosh, I do love the interplay between Rose and Hermione. They're clearly mother and daughter, but also clearly they've formed bonds of friendship, too.
Response from lady_rhian (Author of Sage)
Evil? Moi? *looks aghast*...you might have a point. :-)I am very, very pleased that Hermione's epiphany came off well: it was so important for that to be understood. I agonized over it for quite a bit, so I'm happy that you mentioned it. :) And yes, Rose and Hermione are clearly becoming more comfortable in each other's presence: certainly moer so than they were in the beginning. Eagerly anticipating your thoughts on chapter eight, which, sadly, there will be more of a wait for.

She always was a little nosey. But now we know some of what happened. I can't wait to read more.
Response from lady_rhian (Author of Sage)
Yes, she definitely was, sometimes to her detriment. Thank you for reading; I'm so pleased you're enjoying it!

Response from lady_rhian (Author of Sage)
*gasp*Oh my goodness. I cannot believe it's taken me this long to respond - my apologies - but oh, did this bring a huge smile to my face. I'm so glad you've enjoyed the story! It's been on hiatus for a while, but chapter six is in the queue, so hopefully it'll be picking back up here. Thank you so much for reading and reviewing. :-)
Poor Hermione, thinking she's not made for Grand Passion, but I suspect she's about to find out differently!
Response from lady_rhian (Author of Sage)
Indeed she is! :-) Thank you for reviewing, dear.
Great as always! I loved Hermione's talk about coffee... she might not be passionately in love with Ron, but she certainly is with dark roast (and yes, the analogies there... *grins*).
One thing I wondered about - Charity Jones, in the Prophet's list, among Voldemort's victims? Did you mean Charity Burbage, the Muggle Studies Professor, or am I completely forgetting someone (which is entirely possible)?
Response from lady_rhian (Author of Sage)
Thank you, love! I'm so pleased you enjoyed the chapter. :-) And goodness, thank you for catching that detail... will correct the name immediately, as that is exactly the individual I am intending to reference. Thank you for paying such close attention! *hugs*
Just simply outstanding. I love the coffee descriptions, especially how she's descibing Snape at the same time - you naughty thing! Thank you so much for posting this story as I am enjoying it immensely.
Response from lady_rhian (Author of Sage)
Thank you, dear! I'm so glad you enjoyed onto the coffee descriptions... I'm a bit of an addict myself and can't resist putting coffee references in my stories. The question is, does Hermione *know* she was describing Severus? ;)
Wow, I think that you have truly outdone yourself with this chapter. Though all of your chapters have been amazing so far, this one surpassed them. It was a vastly (compared to other authors) superior piece of writing. Great job!
Response from lady_rhian (Author of Sage)
*flushes* Thank you, dear! I feel very honored by your compliments. I am so very glad you enjoyed this chapter and I look forward to seeing what you think of future ones. :-)
Absolutely enjoying it so far. Hope to see more soon.
Response from lady_rhian (Author of Sage)
Thank you, darling! I am so glad you like it. :-)
I am enjoying this very much, thank you. When you were describing the Italian roast coffee, you were describing the qualities of Severus Snape. And you knew darn well you were doing exactly that.
Response from lady_rhian (Author of Sage)
*grins profusely* Indeed. ;) Thank you so much for your reviews, dear! (and congrats on being the first person to comment on the dark roast/SS analogy)
You know how to set up a mystery and a cliffhanger!
Response from lady_rhian (Author of Sage)
Thank you. :-) (I don't know if that's a good thing, though!)
As soon as she asks herself "What's the harm?", you know she is opening up Pandora's box.Excellent characterization of an older and maybe wiser Hermione.
Response from lady_rhian (Author of Sage)
Pandora's Box - what an excellent way of putting it. That is precisely what she does. What will the box release, though - that is the question. :-)
