*holds up hand* I do solemnly swear that I will never leave a story unfinished.
After so many years writing, nothing drives me quite so crazy as leaving myself (not to mention my readers! ) hanging. So I will never post anything without the guaranteed promise to finish it.
I'm a globe-trotting recent grad who currently makes her home in San Francisco, where you have to wear a coat all summer long. I've been writing for over eight years, including fanfic, original fic, poetry, and research dissertations. I've just recently finished my first multichapter Harry Potter fic (SS/HG). It's called "Memento Amori" and is perhaps the favorite of my literary offspring.
I am also the proud sire of two one-shots, "More Than a Dream" and "Serpensortia" - which took runner-up in the Potter Place Summer '07 Prompt Challenge.

Good explanation of how HG get the knowledge about Snape.
You write a very romantic relationship between these two. Very nicely written. It is coming together for me.
It seems here that SS did something and for some reason is hiding it from her or preventing her from recording it.
catching up on reading....
Severus seems to have two personas, although I cannot figure out why. He keeps interrupting Hermione when she wants to record something sweet that he did. Is it all a manipulation of Hermione to achieve some goal. Is Severus in love with her or formed an attachment that he considers inappropriate so he does not want her to remember.
Response from Olethros (Author of Memento Amori)
Well... I'll say that it certainly isn't an accident that Severus' more sinister and trigger-happy persona seems to dominate the "second half" of the story. *trails off cryptically* You make very good observations! :)
Very exciting chapter, but you must be punished for the evil cliffie. How about 50 lashes with a wet noodle given by Severus?
Response from Olethros (Author of Memento Amori)
That certainly gets tempting points for creativity. :)
I'm Cat_jumped1. Still a great job!

Well, that's a relief. I feel better now. Well, in a sick sort of way, anyway--I feel bad for the farmer. But will we get to find out what happens after the "farmer" moment?
Author's Response: Hmmmmm. Let me get back to you on that.
swtcaro's response: Oh, you're so cruel. :)
Such a lovely proclamation. :) I like it very much. How sweet and fitting.
I haven't read very many stories of this style. You write very well. Thanks for posting.
how many chapters are left?
Response from Olethros (Author of Memento Amori)
6. :)

i waiting with bated breathe... as the story unfolds.lol
the story is fascinating, but the sheer number of time-segments and scattered time elapses to remember make it almost too much of a hassle to read. I'll re-read it later and hopefully be able to connect some portions of the plot together.
Response from Olethros (Author of Memento Amori)
The con-crit is much appreciated! And yes, the structure of the story is at once th biggest source of interest as well as frustration. It is meant to emulate how Hermione must be experiencing the world daily... and yes, for us normal people, it will make much more sense in its completed form. :)
Response from drema (Reviewer)
:D in that case you've captured the frustration wholey. ^__^ I'm pretty estatic to see the completed form, becuase obviously if i worked past my frustration and still liked it, it must be utterly captivating. thank you for giving me hope that it will all makes sense in the end.
Great chapter, maybe Severus can help Hermione before or after Voldermort is dead.
I'm confused, intrigued, and hooked.
Interesting chapter, Hermione seems a bit confused which is a little out of character, but made her seem human as well.
Response from Olethros (Author of Memento Amori)
She's certainly confused... after all, she can't remember a single thing of what happened, and apparently she's never done it before so she doesn't even know the exact details of what she's supposed to be remembering. After all, even though her logical mind tells her that Snape is obviously covering up the fact that they had sex and therefore he is a bastard, Hermione is at a point where she no longer trusts her own mind; possibly the worst fate that could ever befall her.
Not that Snape gets away with it, of course, those were some seriously nasty hexes Hermione used on him "later", lol.
Hi I reviewed this on a different site, but I still think it's good. As for the number I'd say you did some kind of equasion.
I am really impressed that someone would try such a complicated approach to writing a story. I mean, the effort put into this, to make sure everything worked out switching back and forth between time frames.
Yes, these first two chapters needed to be read together. I was able to solidify the present (or what I'm calling the "present" in my mind) with the bits from the "future". It's like a puzzle that needs to be figured out, and I love puzzles.
So ... um, when do I get more? I am going to bookmark this one so I don't miss a single beat. Wonderfully done.
Response from Olethros (Author of Memento Amori)
I will not deny that a few handfuls of hair were rent through the course of writing and organizing and mashing timelines together, but if my readers enjoy, it becomes all worth it. Plus, the hair grew back. :)
Interesting.... The constant switch between timelines can be challenging but makes for a compelling read. I'll wait for your update. ^_^
Response from Olethros (Author of Memento Amori)
Glad you like! I think you'll find after a few chapters that hunting for all the clues is going to be half the fun. Especially after chapter 9 or so, you're definitely going to be rereading the first chapter most carefully. *grins mysteriously*
LOVE IT !!!!!!!! ABSOLUTLY AMAZING!!!!!
I'm still really enjoying your story. I am impressed with how well you have shown their relationship evolving. It appears to be very natural. I love your economy of words, it is no small feat to be able to say as much as you do with so few words. The one thing I didn't like was Harry using 'gods' as an exclamation. In canon even the pure-bloods just say 'oh God'. This is a purely personal opinion however.Your characterisation is still spot on, which makes the fic a joy to read. It is very difficult to pitch them just right and not go overboard with them. You have done a marvellous job.You are so funny, I've woken my baby up twice by laughing too loudly - I blame you ...!
Response from Olethros (Author of Memento Amori)
Glad you're still enjoying, and especially glad that you find some parts really funny. I was bummed when a lot of people labeled this a Dark!fic even though many parts of it don't fit that description.Regarding your comment on "gods"... are you a Brit? If you are, I am certainly in need of a Britpicker for stuff I write in the future if you would be interested.
Response from hells456 (Reviewer)
Jolly well spotted, I am indeed a Brit. I drink tea, queue up when I can, and everything. I have actually held off mentioning that some things were very jarring and a few scenes lost a lot of emotional impact for me, like the graveyard scene, because I feel that the author should be able to use whichever language they like. I would be happy to help out if you want me to.
12 = the twelve uses of dragon blood factorial. At the moment I am confused, but persisting...
Jonas was on our boy name list. Whew am I glad we had girls. Your mini death eater was a peice of work. I swear the hair on my arms stood up when Hermione realized she was in the body of a child. Your story was amazining. I have not read another fan fic like it before. I am shaking my head at how complex it must have been to write. Egads woman do something easier next time. I hope they were very happy on their farm. I am off to find fluffy fluffy fluff to read.
Response from Olethros (Author of Memento Amori)
Thank you so much for the review marathon, it was enormously appreciated! And don't wonder, my next fic (as well as my existing one-shots) will be complete fluffy fluffy fluff as I recuperate.
I keep reminding myself that Snape has taken the potion. I am wondering how he found the farmer's body...
Response from Olethros (Author of Memento Amori)
It's explained in the chapter when Snape is talking about compatability of souls. Basically, the soul goes where it "wants" to. That's why Voldie's soul went for Snape. And Snape's went to... where he wanted to be, no mattr that he had to search for quite a bit.
Response from MollysSister (Reviewer)
Okay that makes sense and is logical. Otherwise they would have to keep a body on ice some where? Nah that wouldnt work... One of (many) things I enjoyed about your story was the author's notes. I think they did a great job of focusing the reader's attention on the important bits. MA is hard reading, a reader has to work to understand (NOT a critisism) and your little hints helped buckets.
I had to take notes on this chapter so I could keep it all straight. Then I got to the end and you had written down pretty much the same things I did. Ha. I am disconcerted how easy it would be to decieve her. Its only a half an hour of memory. She could be taken advantage of easily. ((frets))
Response from Olethros (Author of Memento Amori)
One of the hardest things to do in this story was to create a believable sense of what Hermione must feel like... not knowing whether she can trust her own memories. Or even her own recorded memories. So your disconcertation makes me happy, because it means I've succeeded! :)
Good greif I am going to have to reread chapter one arent I? I thought if I could read the story all in one go I could keep all the details straight. Turns out you are way smarter than me. Back I go. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200
