*holds up hand* I do solemnly swear that I will never leave a story unfinished.
After so many years writing, nothing drives me quite so crazy as leaving myself (not to mention my readers! ) hanging. So I will never post anything without the guaranteed promise to finish it.
I'm a globe-trotting recent grad who currently makes her home in San Francisco, where you have to wear a coat all summer long. I've been writing for over eight years, including fanfic, original fic, poetry, and research dissertations. I've just recently finished my first multichapter Harry Potter fic (SS/HG). It's called "Memento Amori" and is perhaps the favorite of my literary offspring.
I am also the proud sire of two one-shots, "More Than a Dream" and "Serpensortia" - which took runner-up in the Potter Place Summer '07 Prompt Challenge.

Well, that's a big clue!
Oh, and I forgot to say in the last one, I love the power you've given Snape's mind.
This made me feel absolutely sick. I mean this as a compliment, understand. I finished it, and waited and breathed, and then suddenly my eyes filled with tears. And I do NOT cry while reading. I will wait two weeks or so, maybe a month, and reread the whole thing. Man, I still can't believe you grabbed my emotions so forcefully. I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight, but it's lucky I caught it now, or I would've been useless all day tomorrow!
Response from Olethros (Author of Memento Amori)
I am honored that I touched your emotions so poignantly. That's perhaps the greatest praise that a writer can receive. Thank you!
I agree it was an abrupt ending, but whoo whooo what a ride!

I honestly don't know what to think. It was very well written. I can't imagine how you kept track of all the little things that ended up fitting together. At the same time, it's not very satisfying. But that's life sometimes, I suppose. Thanks for the ride.
In the end, they gave each other freedom. She may not have wanted it, but of the narrow choices they had, it was the best. This is an excellent, elegantly written story. I shan't read it again. It would hurt too much.
WOW, what a battle. Indeed, JKR could have borrowed some! You made a great effort taking up what was given, giants as well as Dementors.
I'm not yet sure I like this style of story, it is confusing me (and costs you half a star :-) but you truly have me gripped!
I'm myself also writing a post_HBP, and I'm planning some joining the soul-bits, but it is not quite like this and it's been planned before I visited this story. I have no proof, though.
That was amazing. I loved it and soon, after it digests, I shall copy and paste it all in chronological order. Bravo.
The twisted knot unravels into a linear string. Very suspenseful chapter that had me on edge. :D
Okay! Now the why's and wherefore's of the story make sense. One of the ways to release the vow...You are giving us hope!Clever, clever author!
Response from Olethros (Author of Memento Amori)
Hmm, well I certainly don't want to give you false hope, so make sure you've read chapter 2 and 3 carefully and know when they occur chronologically.
I was totally bowled over by this chapter, I never expected the vow. I hope Malfoy dies instead of Severus. Will you let Hermione have her mind back?

Well.... you already know how the story ends, don't you? Therefore, you already know what ended up happening to Lucius...
Very nice chapter, both characters in form. Loved Hermione's reaction in the library, adore Severus being a bad boy using imperio. Let's hope MoM doesn't find out.
Is Snape playing her the whole time? Did he curse her himself, and if so was it because he was put in an impossible situation? Will Hermione be like this permanently? With going back and forth in time I don't remember if Volde is dead or are they currently (ha, when is that?) involved in the war effort and is Snape a DE? Sorry, I am feeling senile.
Response from Olethros (Author of Memento Amori)
Voldie dies in chapter 4, and if you look at the timestamps, you cna see that everything right now is happening before the death happens, and yes, Snape is still a DE/spy/something. As for your other questions... they are very good and will be answered in the last chapter. :-P

Sigh . . . the more I figure out the more confused I get. How long did you say this would be?
I've just read (and reread) all the chapters in 1 sitting... and wow! i cant believe how interesting the story stayed on the second read. I'll admit the structure scared me cause my bf made me sit through that damn movie ALL the time till on the umpteenth attempt i saw the entire thing. Its like a puzzle i cant help but work at till ive got all the peices together..... so update soon!!!now back to that philosophy paper due in 5 hours
Response from Olethros (Author of Memento Amori)
So glad you enjoyed this and that you found it very re-readable; that is my greatest goal with this style of fic. There are still some puzzles yet to be solved, so stay tuned for the last few chapters...

Hmmm, I like this other side of Malfoy. Poor Hermione appears to be shocked. I hope her idea works, she is a nice foil to Severus in this chapter as well keep uo the good work!
Response from Olethros (Author of Memento Amori)
Malfoy is probably my fave character after Severus and Hermione... even before Rowling took away his fangs.
I love the interaction between Severus and Hermione! But the Harry falling in love with her makes me sad... much like the epi. from DH.*sigh* Hermione should only be paired with one person, and that is our beloved professor.
Response from Olethros (Author of Memento Amori)
Ah Harry, Harry... he's rather likeable most of the time but he can be quite thick, can't he? Fortunately, Ginny seems to get through to him "later", hehe.

This is a very interesting story, and I'm enjoying reading it. I'll admit I'm hoping for some type of a happy ending. Any chance? Please?
Author's Response: You know I can't answer that... yet. :) I will say that chapter one definitely isn't entirely as it seems, though.
swtcaro's response: Whew. :) I keep thinking about their special project . . . ;)
Great chapter, Hermione needed to blow off some steam.
Response from Olethros (Author of Memento Amori)
In more ways than one, eh? ;-P
Anxiously awaiting more!!!
Great chapter, I reviewed on another site as Cat_jumped1.
Mixed emotions, desire, regret - they're all in here. This chapter will linger in my mind for a long time, filtering up through my unconscious mind into my dreams, and coloring my waking life with somber tones of longing. Well done.
Response from Olethros (Author of Memento Amori)
Wow, what a poetic review. Thank you, and I'm glad you're enjoying!
this is so intriging and I loved the intense lovemaking. Great job!! As it turns out Severus and his passion are pretty much dead on. love barb
Response from Olethros (Author of Memento Amori)
Yes, Severus *can* be quite a passionate creature, eh? Except when he's being cowardly and pig-headed, but we still love him anyway, hehe.
LOL i was referring to how a teacher's salery paid for it.
Response from Olethros (Author of Memento Amori)
Oh, lol, yes that is a distinct possibility. That or some illegal Transfiguration of Muggle money.
