Jumped on the Harry Potter bandwagon in 2000 (when Goblet of Fire was out in hardback). Prisoner of Azkaban is my favourite in the series, followed by Order of the Phoenix. I read and write in the SS/HG corner of the Potterverse.
Reviews for Resurgam
Oooh! She's back! Take that, everyone who thought Severus was nuts! In yo' face! *dances*
I can't wait for the next chapter...I hope Hermione is all right.
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
I hope chapter 2 will be up soon- it should be, after a little editing.
They've found each other, and for that I'm glad. What about the other Necromancer?
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
The other Necromancer? Oh, she'll be back by chapter 4, if not sooner. She's currently busy dealing with the problem of the soulless Voldemort.
Standard..... surpassed. Wow, that chapter was brilliant. Wonder how the ministry is gonna react to Hermiones' return especially with the sculpture accepting her name as a hero of the light, how are the wizarding public going to treat her too. Your weaving is intricately beautiful and a little eerie, keep it up. Fia.
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thank you! Of course, both the Ministry and the general wizarding public will soon have more than just Hermione to react to...
Let me guess, the evil person in the prologue is Hermione's evil side? I dont' expect an answer, BUT I WANNA KNOW!!!!I loved the first one, I can't wait for this one to be done!
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
You'll have an answer in a few chapters time. I plan to reveal the truth quite some time before the end, so hopefully you won't have to wait too long.Chapter 2 needs some more work, but with any luck I'll be able to post it soon.
the Queen of Squick's response: Lol, I'm kidding. Seriously, I love your work. I hope the plot bunnies are kind to you!Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thanks! Although the day plot bunnies are kind to me is the day hell freezes over...the Queen of Squick's response: Ah, you have my sympathies. I understand completely. I'm writing a 100 word per chapter series that likes giving me brain freeze and taking me on complete tangents.
ok...lucky for you. maybe i'll spare your chocolate...IF you write fast enough. get cracking woman!
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Just as well that I've recently exhausted my Easter stocks of chocolate then! The next two chapters are with my beta at the moment, but we're both pretty busy. Hopefully I'll be able to post more soon.I'll write when I can, but I'm currently snarled up with revising for exams in less than a week. I won't forget about this story!
Response from kimjo2 (Reviewer)
ok i'll accept that exams are more important...for now. good luck!
I can see this is going to be vert good , or very bad if you are evil. Well Now at least Snape will snap out of it and be helpful. Hope to see another update soon. Bill.
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Ch1 is with the beta and ch2 is close to being finished, so with any luck there'll be an update or two before the end of the month.
Oh Ayerf
this seems to be an intense piece you will be writing.
I can't wait!
But oh my what will Severus and the others think...
The Ministry will be in an uproar.
Waiting for more.
I think Hubby (medicdaddy) is going to love this.
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thank you!Can you imagine the Ministry ignoring this the way that they ignored Voldemort's return?I hope that I'll be able to post the next chapter soon. It's currently with my beta.
I am so excited to see this story! I loved the first and can't wait to see what happens.
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thanks! I hope I'll be able to post ch 1 soon.
OH!! I'm so excited... Are we going to get more detail later as to who this Lady Atropos is, or should I already know? I'm so glad you didn't make poor Severus wait... I felt so bad for him... Thank you for this! Update soon!
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thanks! Atropos's identity is meant to be a mystery, but will be revealed later on. If you already knew who she was, I'd have to come up with a different twist.I'll update as soon as I can. My newly validated author status will mean that the chapter won't be delayed by the validation queue. However, until I get it back from my beta, it's in limbo.
Perhaps this sequel was fated to happen, just hope this Atropos doesn't have any sisters'........ or shears either, though it seems to me that she is only a namesake of the original.LOL. I loved Redivivus, enjoyed Tabula Rasa though I thought Albus was an insensitive sod and I'm looking forward to reading Resurgam greatly and from reading the prologue it is going to be if not better then at the very least of the the same high standard as it's predecessors. Thankyou. Fia.
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
So someone recognises the name of the Strand Breaker! Necromancers don't tend to have living family, and are also technically mortal, so yes, this one is just shares the name.I only hope that I can keep the standard up to scratch!
Response from FiaBerns (Reviewer)
I can see Hermione belonging to the other three goddesses personally, though maybe not as zealous in the punishment department (no kink intended) and I'm sure you can keep up the standard. One to spin, one to measure and Atropos who cuts when its' measure is done, hope I'm not giving anything away here if I am, I apologise profusely. Fia.
I seem to have good timing! I read Redivivus not too long ago, and just the other day finished Tabula Rasa. And I'm hoping that Atropos is an original character. Good luck on getting this done before the Deathly Hallows. (My, that sentence sounds ominous...) Anyway, I really love this series, and am looking forward to keeping up with it. I also like that it's Atropos who ressurects Hermione!
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thank you!Is Atropos an original character? Sort of. I wish I could be more specific, but I haven't included the dreaded OC tag for a reason.Perhaps I should set up a sacrificial altar to my muse to try to ensure that I have the necessary inspiration when I need it.
Yay! Sequel time! I really enjoyed Redivivus and Tabula Rasa. Lucky Sev that it was only two years, but now this new Necromancer seems like an interesting threat for him and Hermione to take on.
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
I hope you enjoy this as much as its prequels! When I manage to get it all written and posted, that is.
Wonderful! I was hoping this sequel would be coming soon!
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thanks! The release of book 7 gave me a deadline to try to adhere to.
Hot start, I agree two years for a man to be faithful to a supposed memory is a long time.
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thanks! Mind, it is Severus being faithful here. I suspect he's capable of such things if he puts his mind to it.
*bouncebouncebouncebouncebounce*can't wait for an update!
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
I wish that I could tell you that the next chapter is in the queue. However, it is with my beta. Hopefully I'll get it back soon in a postable state.the Queen of Squick's response: whoa, bouncing so much made me dizzy...Oh bugger, that made it worse. :DII stayed up until 3am to read the first one. (too lazy to go back n spell it right. plus i'm tired...)
I've read Redivius, though I must re-read and haven't yet. so have not started Tabula Rasa... which you said was the sequel to Red. Now you're writing this and say this is the sequel to Redivius... I am confused.
Do the sequels run one after another or concurrently? Should Tabula Rasa be read before Resurgam?
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Tabula Rasa starts 18 months after Redivivus, while Resurgam starts 2 years after. If you read Tabula Rasa things may be clearer, as Atropos is introduced at the end of that. I hope that clears things up!
I've re-read "Redivivus" at least 2x, and am currently reading "Tabula Rasa." I am thrilled that you have posted this, paving the way for Hermione's eventual return--YAY!
This is a promising start, even though I'm suspecting the worst (2 possibilities) as to the identity of Atropos. Got me hooked!!
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thanks! You really do know how to flatter the author, with all your re-reading.I suppose 'eventual' is one way to put it. Although it's hardly surprising that it happens in the next chapter, I don't know when that will make its appearance. Although written, my beta does seem to be unusually busy. She'll get it edited sooner or later though!I would be interested to know your theories as to who Atropos is, although obviously I can't give an answer.Muwhahaha. Now all I have to do is reel you in. Hmm, tricky without the bait of regular updates.
Oh, yes, definitely have to be careful what you wish for! Personally, I'm wishing that your academic schedule will be so light that you'll have tons of time to write more of this.
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
If only! Sadly exams and essays can't be wished away. But once all those nasssty deadlines are dealt with, I'll have time enough. Then my concern will be having enough inspiration...
Response from firefly124 (Reviewer)
Too true. I keep trying to wish mine away, and it keeps not working. Ah well. And yes, I know the opposite problem -- too much time means the muse takes a vacation.
Oh, a great start.
I re-read Redivivus a couple of weeks ago and have been on the look out for a while. I am curious to see what sort of state Severus is in after 2 years without his Hermione. I can't wait!
Update Soon!
Mandy.
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thank you!If you've read Tabula Rasa, you'll have an idea what he's like a few months before this.Chapter 1 is with my busy beta. Unfortunately, I have no idea how long it'll take her to edit it. I'll pop it in the queue as soon as it's ready.
Yes, two years were long enough. I like the twist you've introduced in this story. Very great beginning for this sequel.
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thanks! It would be nice to be able to say more soon, but unfortunately I don't know when ch 1 will be ready to post. It all depends on my beta.
I couldn't resist but read this Prologue. I agree two years is quite enough, I think Snape might have been beyond help otherwise. I wonder why this mysterious entity thinks Snape is a loyal DE.
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Hmmm. Perhaps I wasn't clear enough when writing it. Atropos is well aware that Snape isn't a loyal DE, but now that Wormtail has vanished, he is the last one.Fingers crossed that I manage to finish this on target! Or I'll be beyond help when my readers slaughter me for the wait.
Response from wsanders (Reviewer)
Oo my fault. That's what I get for reading too fast.
Gah! I am so excited to see this! I just re-read "Redivivus" yesterday.
And yay! She's coming back. What a great start. I am dying to know who this Atropos is. Well, who it is that calls themself Atropos. There has to be a twist there somewhere...
Great great great start!
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thinking of Redivivus, it's high time I edited the AN at the end of it.It's quite a compliment to know that someone rereads my writing. Thank you!A twist? What would make you think that? I never write twists. Of course, I never lie through my teeth, either. I haven't decided how far in the story to reveal that, but it kinda depends how many reviewers put their finger on it, or get worryingly close. It is meant to be a surprise, after all!I only hope the rest of this is as good as you think this is!
I love this series, Its my favorite HG/SS fanfiction -ever-, and i've read a whole lot of them. I'm sorry that I haven't reviewed before but I don't really like reviewing...Thank you for finishing up this series!
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thank you very much! That's quite a compliment.
I'm touched that you'd leave such a nice review when you don't like reviewing. Thank you for reading and reviewing!
What a perfect last line! I refrained from reading this story because the summary was so... dark, but seeing it was finished, and how much I enjoyed Redivivus, I thought I would read through, and I'm glad I did. What a story, but what a good job in telling it! And I'll say again, what a perfect, wonderful, graceful way to end the story.
Thank you!
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thank you very much! Getting this review from you has brightened my dreary day.
The ending was the hardest part to write, so I'm happy to hear that you liked it.
I don't blame you for waiting until this was completed to give a try. For those who read it as a wip, I can imagine the occasional evil cliffies were torture.
Hmmm.... I guess now Hermione's eidetic memory has gone south she will be a bit forgetful. Hope Sev doesn't tire himself out reminding her. ;)
Good chapter. A bit of a teasing chapter, but it's okay to make us wait for the good stuff. Treat us mean, keep us keen, eh?
More updates Pls ta!
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thanks! I can imagine that she forgot accidentally on purpose, especially if Severus reminds her like he did last time!
The next chapter should be up soon.
