Jumped on the Harry Potter bandwagon in 2000 (when Goblet of Fire was out in hardback). Prisoner of Azkaban is my favourite in the series, followed by Order of the Phoenix. I read and write in the SS/HG corner of the Potterverse.
Reviews for Resurgam
*stares at the screen in horror*
Oh my God. Voldermort spawn lives.
*lets out a scream*
Maybe it won't be so bad. Perhaps the child didn't get the psychosis that Voldie had. (I hope that the case.)
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
I was wondering if I'd get that sort of reaction from anyone! Thanks for reviewing.
I suspect quite a bit of why Voldemort turned out like he did was his upbringing (or lack thereof). You'll find out what the children are like in the epilogue.
That was a creepy chapter ending. I love Poppy's quip, “You again!” I look forward to reading the epilogue.
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thanks! That was my intention.
Poppy does seem to see a lot of Hermione, even when just canon is taken into account.
Oh hell! How'd she come back with Atropos' child too? Or did she and Atropos merge somehow? Evil, evil cliffie!
However, as I don't actually want this to end, I'll be patient waiting for the next bit.
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
It's been a while since I saw the raging mob emoticon, I was beginning to think I was losing my touch!
That question will be answered in the epilogue. If it hadn't been, I'd have been hunted down by one of my betas by now.
Theoretically I could have kept this fic ongoing for quite a while, but it made sense to grab on for dear life to the clear ending provided. The price of keeping it going would have been too high, as it would have been to the detriment of the quality.
Response from firefly124 (Reviewer)
Nope, haven't lost your touch at all!
I know all good things must come to an end. I wouldn't actually want you to stretch it out just for the sake of making it longer, even though I'll miss this particular Hermione and Severus. Just means I'll need to reread.
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thank you!
To know a reader would to reread is possibly the highest compliment I know of as a writer.
Response from firefly124 (Reviewer)
You're welcome. Paging through to tally the cliffies last week is actually what put me in mind to reread it all once it's done, as I was reminded of things I'd forgotten in Redivivus in particular.
ok you redeemed yourself by bringing her back! but for the brightest witch of her time to loose her power?you have to have something up your sleeve a fight or flee monet and since a gryfendore wont flee her magical abilities will come back being cornered or the birth of her children will cause she is so happy right?you have to make her better pleaseand thank you for posting a day early i feel so honoredto have the first peice i read today to be your new chapterthank you thnak you thnak youyours truly juliep.s. i know my spelling and typing skills suck i just hope i get across what i mean sorry if it is a bit confusing with the run on sentences
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thanks for reviewing! I'm glad this was the first thing you read today.
Regarding Hermione's powers, it is worth noting that Atropos came through the veil in the first place at the end of Tabula Rasa. By the beginning of Resurgam, she was wreaking havoc. The veil only temporarily strips Necromancers of their powers... But then, Atropos didn't have the complication of being pregnant!
The epilogue should help to clear the loss and regaining of power up.
Response from faula_tara (Reviewer)
ok you are right she did come threw the veil pretty much a powerful bitchi am going to reread both stories when you have finishedi usually have to reread a tory to pick up on all the little things i usually read it the first time for enjoyment and the second time for the little things i missedthank you angain for posting i enjoyed the chapter
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
I hope that you enjoy rereading them at the same time as noticing more!
Oh dear god, but you are the Current Ruler of Epic and Evil Cliffies. What an intense chapter this was. Wowzers! Update soonest, PLEEEEEEEASE!
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thank you!
The problem with updating soonest is that the epilogue isn't finished yet. I think the only way I can update with a fairly clear conscience is if I get said epilogue to a state where it's in the hands of my betas.
Response from amsev (Reviewer)
OMG, the next chapter is the EPILOGUE?? Are you planning a third fic making this a trilogy of suspense? Or did Sev go through the veil and discover Nirvana with Hermione? Or are you implying a chapter before the epilogue?
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
I'm sitting on chapter 16, waiting until the epilogue is more or less finished to post it. I'll be posting it on Monday regardless of whether the epilogue is done or not.
Technically this is the third fic, if Tabula Rasa is counted as the second... I'm not planning to write another of this series, but I'm not about to say never either.
oh damn oh damn oh damn. What an EVil Cliffie. . . . Please update soon(est).
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thanks!
There is a problem with updating as soon as I can... that the minute I do, the same demands will be for the epilogue, which is not finished yet.
Wow. Poor Hermione. And Atropos is just really scary.
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thanks for reviewing!
Poor Hermione indeed. She didn't have much (if any) choice.
GAH! Just... gah!
Ebil ebil ebilcliffie, but I can't wait to see where you take this.
Update! Update! Update!
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thank you!
I'll update sooner than Monday if I get the epilogue finished and off to the betas.
Wow. The chapter itself is short, but really just right when you take into account the other chapters. I have a feeling Sev knew her plan all along. Those runes really get my attention and imagination every time you mention them.
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thanks! My chapters do tend to be short compared to some.
If Severus knew what she was planning, surely he would have stopped her?
I'm glad to hear it... those runes seem to fit in with the way I picture the Death Chamber.
Response from wsanders (Reviewer)
Oops I read what I wanted to read in the last part. I was betting that Snape decided to jump in with the Necromancers and anticipated such an event, albeit subconsciously, and therefore found a way to save Hermione and himself. Now that I have typed it out I think that was a bad bet. Nonetheless I have to believe you've found a way to save the Snape family, come on you wouldn't do that to Snape after DH, would you?
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Would I?
Oooohhhh! You're such a tease! You get me all worked up then drop an evil cliffie on me! Again! I can't wait for the next chapter. I hope Hermione's baby is ok. And I really hope Sev doesn't lose his mind and do something daft.
Thank you for another excellent chapter. :D
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thank you, it's my speciality!
Severus do something daft like following Hermione through the veil? Now, that really would be evil! Even eviller would be ending the story here, but I wouldn't do that...
Response from helshez (Reviewer)
*gulp* Please don't end it here! I may just go insane!
That was evil!! Enjoyably so, though (unless one is Severus).
I can't wait to see what happens next, and whether Hermione will be able to return to her friends.
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thanks!
Poor Severus... he never seems to get a break.
That is the question of the chapter!
Oh no! Not again! They were just reunited *sobs*. Ok I had my fit. I'm sure Severus will get her back.
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
I imagine that's what Severus thought!
You'll have to see what happens in the next chapter.
o you bastard lolhow could you you could of at leats let the baby be bornand how clever saying you didnt know when you would post againgrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrnow how long must i wait and contemplate what will happen nextyou are evil but i love ithow mant more stories do you have i gind i am tired of the sam ole' masturbation and wild sex scenes between our two start crossed loversas you can see i type like shit ans spell even worse but i am enjoying your story emenslythank you
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thanks! I'll take that as a compliment.
I posted this chapter about 10 mins after getting it back from the betas, so I truthfully didn't know.
Next chapter will be up by monday, perhaps tomorrow if I give in to the demands of my readers.
You might already know this, but my other stories can be found on my author page. Apart from this series, all of the rest are one-shots. Glad that you like my writing!
Response from faula_tara (Reviewer)
i have read all your one shots and they are amazing thank youyou are of course under my favorite author catagoryand yes eveything i send to you is a compliment you are very talentedthank you again for sharing your talent i wait like everyone elses with our breath held yours truly julie
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thank you, I'm happy to hear it!
Oh my hec! What has she done!!! Nooooo! Hermione! 5 stars is not high enough for this story. 10 stars minimal!!!
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thank you! I'm flattered that you'd rate this so highly if you could.
She does seem to have a habit of going into trouble... even with her eyes wide open, like in this case.
Aaaaaah! I can't stand suspense! Update soon!I've been enjoying your story (although the death toll is kind of getting to me) and eager to see what you do next. Hoping that Hermione makes it back so she and Severus can be happy for a bit. Thanks for your work!
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thanks! I'm glad to hear it.
The death toll's a tricky thing to balance. Too many and it leaves both myself and readers numb, too few and Atropos isn't enough of a threat.
Update soon? We-ell, I am actually sitting on the next chapter... but I haven't got the epilogue written yet, which is needed to resolve something in the unposted chapter. You'll see what I mean if I give in and post it tomorrow.
Add one each to the "cliffie" and "evil cliffie" tallies! Ack! I really did wonder if Hermione was ruthless enough to do it. And now I'll be on the edge of my seat until your next update. Great chapter, but very evil cliffie!
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thank you!
She does have limits to her ruthlessness...
Is that an incentive to update sooner rather than later?
Response from firefly124 (Reviewer)
Part of me wants to scream, "Yes! Sooner!" And part of me knows I'll be on tenterhooks for the next bit after that anyway. So my vote is still to space it out a bit.
Oh my, this story just keeps getting better and better.
Poor Severus, I'm beginning to think you enjoy torturing him
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thank you! I just hope it won't fall apart with the epilogue.
Poor Severus, I'm beginning to think you enjoy torturing him
Only beginning to? I really must be slipping.
ok im getting tired of chomping at the bitwhen are you posting againand what is this vile creature going to do to hermionei know there can be no happy ending here but i am caught up in you web of tales
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Two good questions there.
I wish I could tell you exactly when I'm next posting, but I do hope to have the next two chapters up by the end of the month. They are currently being betaed, but I have no idea how much longer that will take.
I did promise a happier ending than Redivivus had, but I realise that doesn't really mean much!
Glad to hear that you're thoroughly stuck into this tale!
OMG this is bloody brilliant!
Haven't reviewed the other chapters as I was too impatient to keep reading.
Please put us out of our misery and upload more chapter.
Adding you to my list of favourites.
p.s. how many more chapters will there be?
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thank you very much!
Chapter 15 is being betaed, and chapter 16 is nearing completion. After that, there's just the epilogue to write.
I hope to have everything but the epilogue posted by the end of the month, but that depends on how busy my betas are.
Response from Merlinsbeard (Reviewer)
Ooooh can't wait!
Whoa! Eeeeevillll cliffie! The twists and turns in this story are so fascinating. Update soon, please!
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thank you! I'm doing my best to get the next chapter done soon.
Not to be just repeating what everyone else has said, but that was an evil cliffie, yes!
I wonder if something of Hermione's thoughts and attitudes might have been rubbing off on Atropos - if Atropos might have the power to turn Hermione evil, could it work the other way around too? Letting that toddler live and all... I also wonder what sort of effect pregnancy would have on Atropos.
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
I certainly got that message loud and clear! Cliffie (regardless of being evil) do make convenient stopping points.
You may well be along the right lines. Even so, there would be a limit to Hermione's influence on Atropos simply because of the length of time the latter has been a Necromancer.
Thanks for reviewing!
anything that puts the two of them on a more equal footing is good (I think). Atropos is well-nigh near unstoppable. Why did she spare that kid? Great twist. . . . .
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Theoretically good, anyway!
Why did she spare that kid? Good question.
Thanks! Not many more, now.
Hermione never catches a break, does she?
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Nope! It does seem that what can go wrong will go wrong for her.
Oh, what an evil cliffie! I really enjoyed that chapter. Will there be an update soon?? Please??
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Thanks! I'm glad to hear it. I'm still working on the next chapter... and even when I finish it, how soon it's posted is dependent on how long my betas take. I hope it will be postable within a week, fingers crossed it'll be sooner!
Aww shikes! You're a really brilliant writer. When I do eventually reread this story I'll make sure to set aside enough time, I wouldn't be able to stop at just one chapter.
Response from ayerf (Author of Resurgam)
Aww, thanks! That means a lot to me, especially when you also say you mean to reread this.
