Reviews for Proestigium
So glad to see such a quick update! I am interested to see how Hermione reacts to Viktor's questions. She will probably be more forthcoming with him than Jigger. *grin* I like how you wrote his letter, you're right it does sound very much like his written English isn't so good. Also I would like to apologize for thinking you were only visiting Singapore. I visited in 2001, I think, and it is a truly beautiful city!
Great update! Can't wait for more, as usual! *big grin*

I do try, you know. we dont have HG's reply to this....
This is probably the most intelligent writing that I have come across while reading fanfiction. Props to you. I really enjoy the use of J. Alfred Prufrock (only one of my favorite literary characters), so perhaps I am overlooking the stuff that normally annoys me in favor of an inclusion of Prufrock.
Writing in only letters has a tendency to stretch out the same situation over various degrees of time. However, your writing has a drive behind it, a thing most necessary yet rarely included. Each letter, also, sounds different. This can be a hard thing to accomplish when one is writing every letter. I think that you write the characters rather well.
The footnotes that you include at the end of each letter are helpful, and make it easier to navigate (obviously). I enjoy the addition of information not straight from the cannon that you include. The explanation of Russian names was interesting to read (even if I really did not notice anything odd about her name before you mentioned it).
The only point on which I was concerned was that Snape was making it a bit obvious that he was who he was, in both personas. I was relieved, however, when you had Hermione mention this oddity in this letter.
My only advice is to continue in this fashion, as quickly as possible. Thank you.

Thank you for your compliments. I hope that you will continue to find this little yarn amusing. Footnotes were orginally written for my betas - then it came to a point when i was tired of reviewers asking me certain facts overa nd over again - so i included them. I am very glad you found them useful.
Now you've just got me hanging on the edge of my keyboard waiting for the next letter... or article!! Keep 'em coming! *smile*

And so they shall, look you now, it is nigh complete.
Beautiful! The thing about Albus, though, is that he's not too subtle. I will be curious as to who your next letter is to and from. I bet an A on a thesis is the highest grade Severus ever gave one of his students at York. *grin*
Can't wait for the next!

The next letter is from Hermione to Victor...She has a brain after all. Actually, the grade that Severus gave was exactly the grade my supervisor gave me for my thesis and he does not give As. The plot will slowly unravel. Recall that Albus was certain Sevreus left something behind...What is it? Oooh! Think about it. Thanks for the review.
I don't think I got to review the last letter, my apologies. It looks like Snape is trying to put her off ... but will that comment about Remus be his downfall? I feel the suspense building... even if it's only in my mind, and I am anticipating another letter from Hermione. When she figures the puzzle out, I wonder, will she come right out and bluntly state Jigger's identity, or will she be subtle about it and bide her time? *rubs hands together*

In one of the letters, it is stated that Jigger corresponds with Snape (Jigger hints that to Hermione). I'm going to tell you what I told another reviewer...Hermione's reply? I do not intend for you to see it *evll cackle* No, I am serious. The next letter shall be a surprise. But know you this - it is set two years from the date of this letter. Well, almost, at any rate, dated 8th June 2000. Surprised yet? As for how hermione unravels /reveals Jigger=Snape, watch out for the the journal articles ---they are everything in the subsequent letters....To quote Arthur Milier, there are wheels within wheels and fires within fires.
A very unique and entertaining story. I admit to being glad I have read it after it was completely posted and therfore had the benefit of author's notes to help with some of the confusion. I did enjoy the hidden messages and the amusing references to various literary greats. Thanks you.

so glad you enjoyed it.
Well, well Severus, you hadn't expected her to actually write to Dr Jigger, had you?
Response from Lady Strange (Author of Proestigium)
He doesn't expect anyone to write to Jigger.
wow, this letter lure me into reading on.Severus is rather vocal about his dismay! He could have left it at a "Get her out of my hair", but he elaborated...
Response from Lady Strange (Author of Proestigium)
Minerva would have wanted an explanation instead of "Get rid of her" *slams door in face*.
This was a highly unusual method for telling a story. A bit like a diary, but a mingling of numerous diaries into one without the benefit of a single narrator. A couple of the jumps threw me and I had to re-read a little, but I managed to avoid getting overly lost (nothing to do with anything there except a faulty mind taking a temporary vacation).Different, and enjoyable. I liked that you had Viktor being her confidante, rather than either of the boys, and the way you closed it with Ron's absolute ignorance was very entertaining.Elura
