Reviews for Too Wise to Woo
Wonderful fiction dear!! I think you did a marvelous job mixing the Shakespear with the modern! Well done and I can't wait for your next fic. GG
Bravo. Very well done, particularly for a first try. I say that the pacing is totally up to you, so there's no need to drag a story out if that's not where you feel it going.
Tudorpot here, I've been following this and enjoying it. Yesterday I posted a challenge at WIKTT, to portray a marriage proposal between Hermione and Severus. Your's was excellent. I loved his line- Come, I will have you for a wife, but by this light, I take you for pity.” Can you tell me if this is a quote from another work?
What a rockin' story. It would have been nice as you said if it was longer. But like choclate some things (like this story) are best left short and sweet.
I love Hermione and Severus' little engagement moment... only the Head of Slytherin and Hermione could declare their love in barbs!~giggles~~*~SeleneAngel~*~
Hey if you know you are weak in an area, mine's dialogue, by all means skip it if the story can still flow without it. This was very entertaining and had me waiting on the edge of my seat for updates.
BRAVA!!! BRAVA!!! Of course I would have loved more, but I truly and totally enjoyed all of what you have presented. So thank you ever so much for it. And know that I'll be looking forward to anything else you may decide to gift us with. =)
I do so love happy endings. Their sorting out the mystery was cleverly done, and the shamefaced looks of their friends was fun to read about. Thanks for this lovely story!
Finally got my act together to read all of this... and so far I'm really enjoying it!
I can't wait until the next chapter... I just hope that Hermione and Severus manage to stop themselves saying anything hurtful to each other *crosses fingers*

Thanks so much for reading and for taking the time to comment. I apprecaite it!
I hope you find the ending suitable.
Poor Hermione! All the pain she's had to endure while the salve was applied. I only hope that it worked as it should and that she's completely free of the curse.Looking forward to the next chapter. Cheer!
Response from Lady Apythia (Author of Too Wise to Woo)
I know it was horrible to make her suffer, but I felt it had to be difficult since no one else had been able to cure her yet. but I promise, she is completely healed, and I will not be torturing her anymore. The next chapter is in the queue. Thank you for your feedback; I appreciate it!
Wonderful as always. I really enjoy your writing. I'm glad Hermione is better, and such a dramatic way to make her better at that. Look forward to the next chapter.
Response from Lady Apythia (Author of Too Wise to Woo)
Thank you!
I figured the healing had to be dramatic and difficult to justify why no one else had been able to cure her all this time. I didn't want it to be something that was simple, especially since it was Dark magic.
The next chapter is in the queue.
Thanks again for your feedback!
Oh my, that was quite the "healing" to go through. You presented it beautifully, but still - WOW. Ready for the Shakespeare and snark (not that I didn't enjoy the foray away from it.)Great job
Response from Lady Apythia (Author of Too Wise to Woo)
Sorry about that. I tend to make my characters suffer in general when I write.
I figured in this case, the healing had to be dramatic and difficult to justify why no one else had been able to cure her all this time. I didn't want it to be something that was simple, especially since it was Dark magic. Plus, after going through something like that together, I felt they would be stronger and all the more connected to start a relationship.Okay, enough of my justifying making poor Hermione suffer. (*smacks hand* Bad writer!) I promise that she is treated much better in the next chapter, where we return to light, fluffy snark. Thank you for your feedback! I appreciate it.
Difficult to read, but this was beautiful. After feeling despair for so long, it's no wonder Hermione is afraid to hope that it'll work. I can't remember (and I'm not going to look), but I do hope Hermione learns at some point that he gave his own blood to heal her.
Response from Lady Apythia (Author of Too Wise to Woo)
Thank you again for taking the time to comment.
I didn't mention the blood because I thought it was something people could fill in for themselves during the year gap. In my mind, that was a sacrifice he made for her and didn't want to seem to brag. She never knew about the second potion. But others did want her to know so I decided to omit it and let people make up their own minds.
Thank you again for all your comments. I really appreciated them!
Wonderful first date. Good balance of insecurity and affection. Although there is a part of me that misses the ?teasing?, they are so good at it! Is it wrong to wish that the potion would take longer because I like reading this story so much?
Response from Lady Apythia (Author of Too Wise to Woo)
Thank you so much! That such a wonderful compliment!
I miss the teasing too. I promise it will be back soon!
Awwww is that all! a potion that the ingrediants were so easy to obtain! I was hoping fo some horrible quest or long lost artifact/potion that they would have to find... oh well I suppose I will have to wait for the sh*t to hit the fan when HG and SS find out about their friends "helping" them out...
Still love the chapter even if it wasnt what I was expecting...

Appearances may be deceiving. I promise while it may not have been time consuming, the final solution has complications.
And as for the timeline, this was written for an exchange so I had a quick deadline so the plot does tend to move rather fast. I originally was going to go back and rework it, but I decided to post it as is for now.
Thank you for your comments!
I know I already left a review, but upon re-reading this chapter, I was blown away when I realized that the way you've adapted this from the original sealed the deal for both our heroes. (I caught the nuances this time, you see.) Hermione's injury being revealed so unexpectedly brings out the protectiveness in Severus, and he acts in a way that she'd expect from the man she thinks loves her. And his tenderness, coupled with her physical and emotional pain, encourages her to shed her armor and accept him, as he would expect from a woman who loves him. Brilliant.
(I'll stop reviewing now.)
Response from Lady Apythia (Author of Too Wise to Woo)
THANK YOU!
Talk like that will swell a girl's head!
But seriously, thank you so much for your comments. I really do appreciate them. I was very worried about how my playing with the original plot would be received.
I started posting this on another archive and ended up deleting it because I was getting flamed and told my story was "subpar" and my writing skills left much to be desired. So I was a little afraid to read the reviews for chapters 7-9, but everyone here is very supportive, and thankfully, not nasty.
So thank you again for your continued support!
Woot! and it only takes one night to brew! Yaaay! Can't wait for the next chapter!! GG
Response from Lady Apythia (Author of Too Wise to Woo)
Thank you!
The next chapter is in the queue.
This was a wonderful chapter, but I just wish it had been longer. It wasn't that it needed more, but that I like your writing and I'm greedy.
Response from Lady Apythia (Author of Too Wise to Woo)
Thank you for the wonderful comments! You make me want to write much more!
Oh what a lovely date. That he found out what the curse was and that they can brew a cure is wonderful. But I think the "you came"/"you did invite me" conversation was the sweetest. Now, on to the brewing.....
Response from Lady Apythia (Author of Too Wise to Woo)
Thank you! I am glad you liked it.
Yes, lots of brewing coming right up!
Wonderful! I'm glad that Legilimency worked on Lucius, despite the Kiss, and that Severus knew what needed to be done.
Response from Lady Apythia (Author of Too Wise to Woo)
Thanks for your continued comments! I am so glad you are enjoying the story!
I absolutely love the way you've adapted this scene to Hermione and Severus. His protectiveness of her and her injury make him so tender towards her. Beautiful!
Response from Lady Apythia (Author of Too Wise to Woo)
Thank you! I was worried people might not like the digression. I am so glad that you did!
Nice, really nice chapter. And knowing that Malfoy has lost his wits makes it even better... the bastard! *cough*Can't wait to see the next chapter, good job in this one. Cheers!
Response from Lady Apythia (Author of Too Wise to Woo)
Thank you! I appreciate your comments.
tehehehe! I just love it. I am looking foward to more updates soon.
Response from Lady Apythia (Author of Too Wise to Woo)
I am so glad you are enjoying this! The next two chapters are in the queue.
What a fantastic meeting of the wits. Score one for the Granger team. Can't wait to see what Team Snape comes up with as retaliation.
Response from Lady Apythia (Author of Too Wise to Woo)
It's just not Snape's night at the ball. Poor man will have to put up with a bit more first.
I am glad you are enjoying the story!
Ha ha! I'm glad Hermione got the better of him, after he ducked out of their banter, earlier. You've adapted the play very well, and I'm really enjoying this!
Response from Lady Apythia (Author of Too Wise to Woo)
Thanks so much! The fun is just beginning!
