How he wished he could bring Dumbledore back from the dead. This act had cost him much, not in his conscience or in his self-esteem, but in his life as a whole. Never, ever before had Severus felt so utterly alone.

I'm glad you liked my traps, they'd cost me a brain storming :) More very soon.

Thank you for letting me know your opinion.
A great ending of a great story! I found this particularly beautiful: "Hermione was dumbstruck as the implication of what Severus had just confessed dawned on her. Reflexively, she threw the book on the floor. Severus’ heart constricted.“I give it to you as a testimony of my feelings for you. I give you my soul, Hermione Granger. I give you my soul, for you to do as you wish with it.”Hermione then gingerly retrieved the codex from the ground". ... I would have liked to know how they settled in Argentina, though. Your portrayal of Snape is very fascinating and it's kind of saddening that this is The End! Well, I suppose it is? No sequel? I hope you will post more stories here - and thank you for posting this!

What a great review! I'm so pleased that you liked it so much. I have no plan for a sequel, but you can always imagine it. I have another project, which I'll start posting here this week. Thank you so much for reading my story and let me know what you think of it.
That is a good ending, im glad he and Hermione are together again, for a moment, i must admit i was worried he would be trapped in prision forever...A most enjoyable read ;)-KarlaMarie

I might have chosen a dramatic ending, but happy ones have far too much appeal. Thank you for your review.
I get the feeling this chapter is the intro to the action hence the "telling" us what's going on? It certainly makes me curious to see what comes next, that's for sure. An interesting start.

Thank you. Yes, it's only the beginning. This insight in Severus' state of mind is necessary to understand what's following. Next chapters are longer, and will come regularly.
what a terrific story! thanks so much

Thank you again.
Hi! I read this a while ago, but apparently forgot to review (bad author!). Its realism appeals to me. I have noticed that your stories often have a dark streak - a kind of fatalistic realism about them - that is similar to my own perspective. This was a good read. Thanks.BTW- did you receive the PM I sent on ff.net? I also answered your review -but I have no faith that those are being delivered as I received review alerts a full week after the reviews were posted! There must be some problem with their automated system. (What else is new?)

You noticed the similarity between our works? When you answered my review somewhere else, you told about your Snape liking, being attracted to power. It reminded me at once of this story of mine. A pity you don't read French (or do you?), I've been told I'm quite the snarky one. I've received your PM on ffn, and the answer to my last review. But I'm not sure their system is quite repaired.
