Reviews for The Old Walls Crumble
HI. wow what can I say? you made Severus falling in love with a muggle believable.
great job.
Response from cearrae (Author of The Old Walls Crumble)
Thank you! It's nice to know the story is still being read.
Hello: This was one of my favorite stories! I read all of this on Fan Fiction and also the continuing stories of this wonderful couple. I can no longer read the stuff on FF so if you please could you include all the other stories here? I'm sure they would be well received.
I think this story is better than DH; for the Severus factor alone (and more people live). There shouldn't be to many chapters left right (and thank you for Jenny)!
Response from cearrae (Author of The Old Walls Crumble)
You're right - we're winding down.DH was a bit of a let down, I agree. Not sure I'd let a child read the story. There was far to much death and it mostly seemed pointless. (Poor Dobbie)
Words do not describe how well written this story is. I'm looking so forward to Deathly Hallows but I think this story is giving it a run for it's money. When a story takes you so into it that you become part of it (hard to explain) than that's damn good writing. Looking (so farward) to the next installment.
Response from cearrae (Author of The Old Walls Crumble)
Well, there's still a little more adventure ahead. Coming soon.
Oh, I like the thought of using the Dementors as the way of disposing of Voldemort's soul. Very Good!! It is so obvious a solution. I'm enjoying your fic, btw. Snape is perhaps a little too soft and sentimental but "love" does have its own magic. Looking forward to your updates.
Response from cearrae (Author of The Old Walls Crumble)
Thank you. I figured if Snape ever met someone special, he would mellow towards her first and she might colour his approach to others. I think I kept him snarky enough.
This is the best story...please don't keep us in suspense. Also, thanks for using Petunia instead of Jenny; *not Jenny, not Jenny*...
Response from cearrae (Author of The Old Walls Crumble)
Thsnk you. znext chapter is with the beta - excitement yet to come!
The plot thickens and Moody needs to get that stick out of his ***... *cough* Mean ol' Auror!Great chapter, full of intrigue and surprises. The return of Krum was fun to see. Herrr-myyo-ninny! lol
Response from cearrae (Author of The Old Walls Crumble)
Thank you. Yep, Moody's a mean one in this story.
Wow this is so wonderful!!!! And Moody...fuck you!!!!
Response from cearrae (Author of The Old Walls Crumble)
Oh, he's a mean one. He's not finished yet, wait and see!Thankscearrae
Response from sregner (Reviewer)
Now I look at that comment...sorry! But I was so angry! I will try and watch my typing from now on! But Moody still SUCKS!!!!
Oh I like this very much! It amuses me greatly to see how comfortable Severus is with Muggles technology and with living among and falling in love with a Muggle. Very well written OFC, as well. I normally do not read stories where Severus falls for an original character, but I'm quite glad I read this one, for the writing is superb and the plot is very well developed. I do wish to point out, though, that when you started the story, you set the date in 1997, however after the New Year's chapter, you jumped the date to 1999, whereas I belive it was meant to be 1998. Anyway, I do hope you update soon, for I am enjoying this story very much!
Response from cearrae (Author of The Old Walls Crumble)
Yes I realized my error. When I get a chance, I'll go back and edit. The timeline in years is necessary for plot later on. Thank you.
Oh my, what a wild ride. I clicked on chapter one as a whim and have spent my afternoon reading. I want more...now!
I love Snape's determination to carry on in spite of the odds. I love Jenny. However, as a librarian, I must protest her description. We are not frumpy. Not at all.
I do hope things will turn out well for Jen and Severus. I hope Lucius will not sacrifice himself, but I can see that he might.
More! I just want more.
Please, kind author, please could I have some more?
Response from cearrae (Author of The Old Walls Crumble)
Now, now, patience is a virtue - the story is finished actually and it will come as fast as my beta can, uhm, beta! Thanks
Oh this is so wonderful...what a story. But I'm so scared that Jenny is going to be hurt. Please, please don't do that! Thank you
Response from cearrae (Author of The Old Walls Crumble)
Thank you. More adventures to come - wait and see.
Another great chapter. I'm excited to see Jenny's reaction to all that Severus may explain to her. I love this story.
I like this story! I'm sad Narcissa died, but I'm glad that Lucius is on the light side. And I hope things work out with Snape and Jenny.
Ooooo! What an exciting story you have brewed for us. Bravo! Interesting thing to have SS have a muggle love interest, but will it work out in the end? Can't wait to see what happens next... soon? Cheers!
Response from cearrae (Author of The Old Walls Crumble)
Well, it is a love story, so what do you think? The path to love is never easy, however, and that always makes a good story. Thanks for the review.
I'm still really enjoying your story. I especially like Jenny, probably because I can identify with her so well. She's a great original character; very real.I also think your take on Voldemort is very accurate. He's nuts; he's removed too much of what makes us human not to be.
Response from cearrae (Author of The Old Walls Crumble)
Thank you - glad you're enjoying. I've had comments like yours about Jenny from others. When I envisioned her, I saw a very plain woman who you would look right through when you pass her on the street. She's an everywoman, if you will, and if we're honest about it, she's the majority of women in our society. BUT - never underestimate the everyday woman!
Response from jessajohns (Reviewer)
Definitely! The everyday woman can amaze you!
Very good chapter. I like Jenny. Interesting idea to have Snape contact the Trio through Hermione's parents.
Response from cearrae (Author of The Old Walls Crumble)
Thank you! I like Jenny too. She's just plain, straight forward, but smart, Jenny!
Intriguing.
Response from cearrae (Author of The Old Walls Crumble)
Thank you. I hope you continue to read and review
I glad to see you've posted this story here, they have far too much SS/HG and need more SS/OC and SS/any adult canon female except Hermione to balance it out. This is one of my all time favorite stories and I think it should have a lot more readers. Jenny is probably my favorite OC of all, she's a normal human female and she's very lovable. I've recommended it to all my friends. Marilynn
Response from cearrae (Author of The Old Walls Crumble)
Thanks Marilyn,It's not easy to post at the admin'd sites. Every site has different requirements, but I think Jenny deserves the exposure - she's worked hard for it!Linda
that was one of the best fics i've read in a long while! well done
Response from cearrae (Author of The Old Walls Crumble)
Thank you!
ola cearrae, PLEASE have an epilogue! :) this thing still has so MUCH steam! :)) and legs to run on!
did harry potter eat voldemort's soul fragment? i don't really understand? so isn't that dangerous?
"I'll take that as a complement from the mistress who
defines the word." He sat up and made to withdraw.
- compliment
and in this chapter, it's a dental 'practice', not 'practise'
your writing is much different from others but still very palatable!
Yes, Aunt Bella. Ive not had much practise though,
he replied cautiously.
_____
should be 'practice' in this case. trust me. i'm singaporean!
interesting angle! bella caring about her sister and nephew? :)
i always read the epilogue first before reading the story... what a wonderful epilogue! more people should read it. i had only known of this existence because of 'random story'; then i checked whether it was completed and it was!
