Nicely written, inventive scenario.  Apt, since Potions in canon is presented as advanced home-making with recipes.  Does his hiding away reflect the wizard world's opinion of him, or does it show his opinion of the wizard world?  Both could produce drama - one external and the other internal.  Of course, a person who can fly without a broom would drive that car.

Severus has definitely redeemed himself with Hermione. I'm glad he made the right decision, and I rather like the idea of him getting "private lessons" from Hermione.

What?!?!?!?  Has he lost his mind?  I can usually understand what part of Severus' fears are doing his thinking for him, but this time I'm completely baffled.  Pulling his wand on Hermione was the last thing I expected.Shame on him. Wow, that was completely unexpected. I wonder what set Severus off. I can only imagine what will happen in the baking class the next time. That is, if he shows up. I don't think that Hermione will bail on her friend, but if Severus is in the class, I know things will be a lot different.

I think a little part of him is getting her back for all that hand waving he had to put up with.

Well, what do you know; Severus is flirting. And driving Hermione up the wall, because she hasn't picked up on that yet. I can understand he's worried about rejection, but I think Severus needs to bite the bullet and ask her out. Or maybe Hermione will figure it out. Either way, it's good to see he's finally ready to open himself up to another person.

I'm guessing Severus was trying to see what Hermione thought of him, thanks to Martha. And Hermione so does like Severus. I also think he likes her too, or else he wouldn't have ran off like that.
