Old enough. I'm a writer by heart, using the wonderful HP universe (specifically Severus Snape and Hermione Granger) as a canvas for my imagination as I learn the craft and strive to be published one day. In real life, I am a professional with a doctorate in my chosen field.

Really enjoying this story. Looking forward to updates! ;)
A name. A name... Severus keeps referring to her as "rosebud," so I'll go out on a limb and guess that they'll name her Rose. Can't wait for the next chapter to be posted!!!Beth

Hermione wants to keep the baby as their own! It's clear to me that Severus already loves the child, too, but the pitfalls and logistics of carrying out this ruse will be difficult. However, with Poppy and Minerva already on board it will be much easier than without their help.I was scanning the reviews and saw the one draegon_fire wrote where she remarked, "I don't think Severus or even Hermione would've been able to give the baby up." And you replied, "You're right, they couldn't willingly give up the baby." That tells me that at some point they are going to have to fight for this child.I still have tons of questions! Where is Ron and what is he doing? Just how much do Harry and Ginny know? Why would Arthur demand the return of the baby to his family? What did Molly do? And who else knows about it? And why was something not done about Molly's shenanigans earlier? And now I'm off to the next chapter!!! Keep up the good work.Beth

Yes!! Even Minerva has a chance at a grandchild of her own, despite the sadness of her own family history. Everyone gets a second chance thanks to the baby. I am hoping that Ronald never finds out, but he's bound to, so I hope he never gets his hands on the baby. Thank you for updating!

Now that the plan is being executed, lets see how flawlessly it goes. At least the little girl didn't get her father's ginger hair, that will make the deception simpler.

The genes are definitely working in her favor at this point. Thanks for reading!

Wonderful chapter update, love the interaction between Severus and Minerva, it was heart warming without being sickly sweet. Can't wait to see what the problem is with Molly.

What a beautiful chapter, so much love between them. The little one is so lucky to have them for her family, she will trive and grow in to a real beauty.

Insecurity, thy name is Severus... I loves Hermione's rasoning! They'll have to decide what to tell the girl herself--and when. I'll hope she develops some academic traits, too. Not quite from Percy, but a bit of Bill's or Charly's gene pool isn't too much to ask for, is it? Like the other reviewers I'm confused what Molly's role will be. As a mother she should at least concur that stability is key in a child's development.

And there is just something so...alluring about that insecurity, isn't there? Thanks for reading!

Hmmmm. If they're adopting the baby, what's Molly got to do with it? Basically, the baby was abandoned by its birth parents and, while Molly might have some rights as Ron's mother, what she doesn't know won't hurt the baby. However, I have the feeling that Molly will put her two knuts in. ^_^

Two knuts and then some, I bet. Thanks for reading!

I am so curious about what the issue is with Molly and what will they do if she proves to be a red-head. Will she be the cuckoo in the nest with all of their future black haired children?
Response from Bardsdaughter (Author of An Orphan For Christmas)
Never fear, there won't be a ginger thread among the black tresses. As for Molly... give it a few chapters and see if your question is answered. Thanks for reading!

It's very different from what I've read until now and I've read a lot. And I simply LOVE it despite the délicate subject. I hope to read more soon.

The poor girl. I'm dreading finding out what Severus will find in her mind. The idea of him and Hermione as guardians to the baby is sweet.

Even more intriguing! Just what is Severus hiding from Hermione about the Weasleys?
Yay for Poppy! Although why dies the baby need to be kept from Molly? The plot thickens!
The poor wee thing! Still, it sounds like she may have a very capable set of rescuers!
