Three years have passed since the defeat of the Dark Lord, and Hermione Granger has returned to Hogwarts alone and broken hearted. The Golden Trio splintered after the victory and Hermione has been alone and drowning in studying abroad. Upon her return to Hogwarts, she must face the man she hasn't seen since her graduation and learn if he could ever forgive her for the pain she dealt him those years ago. Can they learn to trust each other or will their pain and pride get in the way?

It depends on if I can get Severus to behave. That's what Hermione wants anyway. I'm working on Chapter 5 now, and I hope to have it posted this weekend.

I wanted to hug him too. I still can't believe I turned Hermione into such a bitch but it gets better, promise. And no, Hermione didn't hear him. He says a lot of things she doesn't hear.
*sigh!* A lovely and promising beginning. (I read all three chapters in a row.) I'm definitely looking forward to more!

Thanks so much! This is my first go at a SS/HG although I've got a SS/OFC in a file in my room. I'm thinking about posting it too, as soon as I polish it a bit.
Aww, poor Snape with a broken nose! Why did Hermione have to say that? They were getting better! Silly girl! Hmm, about the victory celebration *strokes invisible beard* hmm, did he tell her that he does not hate her, and she thought he was joking maybe? I know that would probably make everyone laugh! I hope he doesn't get too drunk on fire whiskey, otherwise I have a feeling that he might say a few things thats aren't exactly nice... :| Well I hope that they both sort things out. Well, you've got me hooked already, so hurry up with the next chapter, can't wait!

Severus never got his hands on the firewhiskey...I just couldn't bring myself to get him drunk. I like my Snape sober, unless he's got a little fun on his mind. Then some alcohol isn't so bad.

Now we finally know what she did that was so horrible. Yep, pity she didn't do things differently, but as they say, shit happens, eh? LOL He'll just have to deal with it. I hope that this ball will bring them together somehow. Great story, doll. Thanks for posting.

I keep wondering what she did that was so bad? The bad Southern says that they might have had a one night stand, and she took off or either he did. Curious! I feel so sorry for her.You know, I can't say how many times I've put on a sad song when I'm sad just so that I could cry more. It harms, yet it helps. Odd, isn't it?

The first chapter is simply great. I like how Snape's thoughts were portrayed. Excellent.

Beautiful beginning! You have woven things together well... very seamlessly. Everything had a great flow and each part just slid effortlessly right into the next. I loved it, and I will be watching for the next chapter!!

I absolutely loved this story. I had big fat tear drops falling down my face for the first four chapters. Hermione was just so sad; I'm glad that she found love with Snape without the usual misunderstandings that normally take place in romance stories. I'm glad you also gave Snape at least one Slytherin child. You are definately gifted at pulling heart strings. I look forward to you finishing your latest story.

Sappy, sweet, out of character...Well written, engaging, enthralling...I am not one to complain about out of character. I'm more of one known to write as far out of character as possible. This was a wonderfully adapted work, very endearing version of Severus. Love that we didn't have to deal with Harry and Ron going bonkers at the announcement (although, I'm sure they did--LOL). And very glad they could all eventually set aside their differences.Nice touch having Harry and Ginny's twins sorted into Slytherin. Well done.
