Reviews for For Hogwarts: A Regency Gamble
Hermione must remember that Trelawney's answer was not difinitive - only a "fear" that it would end in heartbreak. Typical doomsday prediction from her. But the rest of it fits. If only they can get over Severus' conflict, things may turn out just fine.
I sure hope so. Seems that Severus feels more for the girl than he is willing to admit. He needs her. He just needs to admit that to himself.
Wonderful story.
Loooved the image of Lucius having Hermione on... And his observation about the attached men NOT attending the Austen trivia event. Draco and Harry are getting more and more adorable, and I really enjoyed Harry's pep alk with Neville. Wonder how Severus will deal with what he overheard... Oh -- and I got all misty-eyed after Hermione's meeting with Trelawney. (Loooooove her with Xeno, BTW.)
oh my, why did she enter that tent. I hope she will tell someone (preferable Severus)
Mmmmmm... lovely. I really enjoyed Hermione's introspection about the Regency perid, but also that she was able to admit she was flattered. Additionally, I was glad to see Ron accept defeat gracefully (albeit belatedly).
Goodness, Sybill was being serious. :)
That was a wonderful chapter!!!
What a heart-pounding chapter! I can't believe she set his coat on fire. What a mood killer. Better luck next time, Hermione.
Now all we need is for Draco and Harry to pair up. I'm sure they will eventually.
No going back now! :)
That is one hell of a kiss.... =)
Oh dear me, more misunderstanding. :)
I don't want Snape to be in trouble! but I imagine he will be, and for good reason. what was the man thinking! At least he will have the excuse that he was acting according to Regency manners.
thank you so much for this wonderful story! i have to tell you, things have not been great in my life lately, and coming home to find a new chapter of this really lifts my spirits. you have a wonderful way of telling a story, and i appreciate the fact that the characters are so well drawn and believable. i am hoping you continue to write many more chapters!
What was Snape thinking to agree to this chess game? Male egos and testosterone are over the top sometimes. But I would have thought that at his age, Snape would have been able to control it better. Oh well... Some things never change. I think of his animosity towards Sirius Black.
Anyway, I feel the most sorry for Hermione in all this. She is not chattle, and I'm certain that she is past tired of the men in her life treating her as such. Will she end up in the arms of Viktor Krum just to teach them both a lesson?
Wow. I loved it! The drawing ever-closer, only to be threatened by male pride? Yikes! Hermione shall be a thing to behold in the next chapter, I should think. (And the side story of Harry and Draco is progressing awkwardly and sweetly -- as it probably should.) Just lovely.
I really like this story so far. But why, why does snape has to enter this duel of wits? Why? Okay, I understand you probably have a good reason or a plan of sorts. But still, I don't like it one bit.
Lovely. More soon, eh?
LOVE that Lucius attended the Language of Fans class... and the reaction he had afterward... and that Hermione walked in on them! LOL I *really* like the mention in another chapter that the love potion Ron ingested years ago may still be affecting him. I got a chuckle out of the fact that Hermione was more perturbed at Ron and Romilda's non-period behaviour than by the fact that Romilda was hanging on her very-recent-ex. And Severus's use of that charm to chat with Hermione was sweet. (LOVE that Draco will be Puck!)
He's getting in deeper and deeper. :)
Lovely, as always. It seems like love is in the air all around, and I adore the pairings that are coming together.
I love the talking between the wall, and the fact he's got it bad now. =)
With Lucius as Thesus, Professor Mortelle as Hippolyta, and only five days to pull this thing off, it seems as though these two will be spending a lot of time together. How ever will they cope?
Neville and Gabrielle Delacour? I love it! Go Serpent Slayer!
As for Ron, I hope he finds a way to enjoy himself during the rest of the week. He and Hermione were all wrong for each other, and while he may have handled some things poorly, I don't wish him any ill will. It will be good for him to just play a bit. If that happens to be with Romilda, well, it's not Hermione so I say go for it.
Sybill and Xeno? Hmmm ... why not? Still it isn't particulary kind to saddle Luna with a crazy potential step mom.
And Severus has Hermione all off balance. That dynamic is always fun, but I hope she is able to return the favor soon.
Poor Hermione. Now he's confused her even more! :)
Argh! Severus! What the hell? Emotionally stunted ass! (For Hogwarts. ONLY for Hogwarts. Hoggy hoggy Hogwarts...♫♪)
Awww ... I love your Arthur Weasley. Agreeing to Regency Week for the guarantee of some sex. Although with seven kids, one has to assume that's not a rarity in their household. :)
I liked the scene in the stable with Harry and Draco. Methinks we are making progress.
‘You owe me, Potter!’ he said, then turned to find his own horse.
He says, as if it is a bad thing ;)
And poor Viktor ... she needs to put him out of his misery once and for all. I love how he lacks complete subtlety
and offers to massage her sore parts.
In the end, I do feel a bit badly for Ron. He makes a good point as I am sure that when Hermione starts a project, everything is second fiddle. Still, Severus is right in that Ron has no idea how to handle her. Neither of them are wrong, they just aren't right together, I hope he can see that and move on, finding happiness elsewhere.
As for Crookshanks ... get 'em, boy.
Looooooved how confused Hermione is at her reactions to Severus. *wink* I got a giggle out of the alliteration in "Parkinson, Parvati, Padma, and Penny"... and that Lavender was kind of an afterthought. Nice chapter -- and I really enjoyed the little exchange between Severus and Crookshanks at the end.
