Severus has spent three years making Hermione's life as difficult as possible, in hopes that she'll resign her post and leave Hogwarts. When she does, however, he discovers that it's not in his best interest if she leaves, after all. Written for Musamihi for the 2011 SSHG Gift Exchange.

I'm a forty-something American woman who is addicted to the SSHG pairing, relatively new to this fandom. I'm also considering starting some original fiction soon...

I love interfering Lucius. I hope he shoves hard. It's funny how Severus and Hermione are always the last people to know that there is something between them. It is always more obvious to others. Poor dears. Still, once they finally hook up I will no longer have to feel sorry for them

Hehehe, interfering Lucius is rather fun. :) Yes, Severus and Hermione are both pretty clueless about emotions, IMO. Hopefully, we can all be happy for them soon, when they finally figure it out. ;)

Aw, Hermione! That poor girl! She really does have feelings for him deeper than she cares to admit - doesn't she? And Severus just basically said he didn't want her advances anymore. Oh, that's got to hurt so deeply. I hope there's a silver lining in this somewhere.

Uh, oh...looks like Severus seriously f'd up. Now that Hermione thinks her affections for Severus are unrequited, she won't want to stay at Hogwarts and will be thinking about leaving as she originally intended.
