Reviews for The Philosopher's Fate
Aw poor Severus and Hermione. Glad to see they worked out the distress over the memories is over.
Response from peskipiksi (Author of The Philosopher's Fate)
Thanks. Glad you liked it :)
How frightening for Hermione to be dragged out of the school where she thought she was relatively safe, and be put before that vile woman, demetors and all! I absolutely loved the courtroom scene, though. There was something wonderful about her calling for Severus in her desperation and him sweeping in to save her. I think that was indeed the moment where she realized that she does have a husband, and one that cares about her and will keep her safe. Her coming to his bed willingly will solidify their relationship as well. And what a lucky girl, as he is so gentle with her. Ok, I'll stop rambling now and let you get back to writing *hint, hint*
Response from peskipiksi (Author of The Philosopher's Fate)
Everard having a portrait in the Ministry comes in handy yet again! It was so difficult to write 6 chapters without Hermione saying the word husband, or even thinking it in narrative! So much easier for me now! Am off to submit Chapter 8 now. Thanks! :)
That connection they have that makes us like SS/HG so much. Wonderful.
Response from peskipiksi (Author of The Philosopher's Fate)
Thanks!
I like how Hermione "manipulates" the situation with the homework / detention. Now she's playing both sides of the fence.Very realistically handled (canon-wise). Looking forward to seeing what happens next!
Response from peskipiksi (Author of The Philosopher's Fate)
She has to keep the students' trust even though she's working with the hated Headmaster! Glad it's realistic -thanks :) Next chapter is in the queue.
Glad to see she's understanding and accepting of Severus' past.
Response from peskipiksi (Author of The Philosopher's Fate)
I think she would be after seeing it played out in front of her. It worked for Harry, too! Thanks. :)
I'm certain that Hermione now has a new appreciation for Severus' life that she never would have had she not been sucked into spying with him. It should be a bonding experience, as well. I also like the way their relationship is developing slowly but realistically.
Response from peskipiksi (Author of The Philosopher's Fate)
Thanks; I;m glad it's realistic.
Well, two against the world is better than going it alone. I hope they can continue to trust one another and grow their friendship.
Response from peskipiksi (Author of The Philosopher's Fate)
Thanks. :) At least she's kissing him now so things should get better!
Poor guy, he has no idea how to handle tears. Of course, Hermione could have handled his impromptu awkward kiss a little better, so I guess they are even. Jealous of Viktor ... interesting.
Response from peskipiksi (Author of The Philosopher's Fate)
She's very confused -he's being nice to her, but she still thinks he's a Death Eater and murderer, so the kiss was frightening.
Yikes sounds like the Carrows are barely under control if at all. Meeps!
Response from peskipiksi (Author of The Philosopher's Fate)
Neville says in DH that they made students do the Cruciatus Curse on people who'd earned detention, and Alecto slashed his face with her wand - yeah, they're scary!
Ack! I didn't think they would be forced to get married so quickly. No wonder Hermione is freaking out!
Response from peskipiksi (Author of The Philosopher's Fate)
The Ministry wants Muggle-borns under control ASAP. And I needed to ruin Hermione's birthday! Thanks for reviewing :)
I would like to swap birthday presents with Hermione-and I don't mean the book!
Response from peskipiksi (Author of The Philosopher's Fate)
I agree! Join the queue :)
It's nice to think of Sev having an ally during this time.
Response from peskipiksi (Author of The Philosopher's Fate)
He was so lonely all the way through DH, it broke my heart - I had to help him! Thanks for reviewing!
Hermione's got to know the whole story before she can begin to understand what he's had to go through. But by saying that, too - and don't get me wrong, she's under enormous pressure for someone her age in that situation - she's got to learn how to trust without questioning so much.
Response from peskipiksi (Author of The Philosopher's Fate)
She's really out of her depth, but she has no choice but to learn to deal with it. I think she will learn to trust him after this. :)
At last she understands. :)
Response from peskipiksi (Author of The Philosopher's Fate)
She does. :) He didn't really want to have to show her al that, but he had no choice. Thanks!
He's trying at least. :)
Response from peskipiksi (Author of The Philosopher's Fate)
He is. He's trying to keep to his promise to Dumbledore to look after the students. :)
Sometimes I too wish I could hide memories away in my mind like that. If people could really put thoughts away behind walls or doors it could help so many to move on and heal from traumatic things. I think that Hermione and Severus have just come to an important understanding. Hopefully Hermione will keep in mind that working together as a team will bring them closer in their marriage as well.
Response from peskipiksi (Author of The Philosopher's Fate)
I love the 'behind closed doors' idea - I wish I'd come up with it! Thanks for reviewing :)

Interesting take on the marriage law! I'm curious about Snape's part of the deal and his reactions, though ;o).
Author's Response: Thank you. :) Actually Snape is just as much of a pawn in the Ministry's plans as Hermione.
Oh poor things. Those Carrows rot!
Response from peskipiksi (Author of The Philosopher's Fate)
They're awful, aren't they? But great fun to write!
Oh this situation is getting worse for evryone, except the horrible Carrows. I hope Hermione realizes soon that Severus is on her side. He could use the support. I'm really enjoying this story.
Response from peskipiksi (Author of The Philosopher's Fate)
Thank you; she will soon - in a couple of chapters anyway. Oh, the Carrows are such fun to write!
The Carrows are going to be a handful no matter what, it seems. They enjoy circumventing any commands Voldemort gives them, and are going to put Severus through his paces trying to keep them in line and keep the students safe at the same time.
Response from peskipiksi (Author of The Philosopher's Fate)
Oh, they do and they are! And they're not remotely done yet! But Severus isn't done with them yet either, rest assured.
A tempestuous start. The making up should be fun... ;)
Response from peskipiksi (Author of The Philosopher's Fate)
Oh, it will be ;)
No sex please, we're British! Sorry, that saying sprung into my head. :D
Response from peskipiksi (Author of The Philosopher's Fate)
Not just yet, in any case. (Btw I LOVE that play!)
Wahoo! Does Snape know yet? :)
Response from peskipiksi (Author of The Philosopher's Fate)
Oh, yes; that's why he looks as if he's waiting for something awful to happen :)
You say he's going to be getting some, but the prospects don't look good just now. Can't say I blame Hermione, and good for her for refusing to Crucio her fellow students. That moment when he was cleaning her face, though ~shivers~
Response from peskipiksi (Author of The Philosopher's Fate)
I promise he will get some, but I'm afraid he'll have to wait for a few chapters though. Btw "shivers" in a good or bad way?
Response from Owlbait (Reviewer)
Defintitely a good way. You've got good tension there. Snape always shows at his best when he's healing.
Response from peskipiksi (Author of The Philosopher's Fate)
Thank you. And thanks for explaining! I thought it would be interesting - she's still convinced he's evil, yet he's touching her in such a gentle and intimate way - confusing for her, but it made her think.
oh dear. Poor Hermione. But of course Snape is never quite as he appears to be. :)
Response from peskipiksi (Author of The Philosopher's Fate)
I think he's just as shell-shocked as she at the moment!
