Again, I thank you for your amazing talent. This is absolutely incredible and the journey you are taking this on is wonderous.
Response from MsTree (Author of Velvet Song's Damsels & Dragons)
It's not talent, really. I just hear these voices in my head and this is the only way they'll shut up! I'm glad you like it, though. ^_^
yayyyy progress!!!! Cant wait for more!!
Response from MsTree (Author of Velvet Song's Damsels & Dragons)
Chapter 16 is in the queue and 17 is with my beta, so there is more coming. I'm thinking there might be at least 30 chapters on the continuing saga, "the Perils of Severus". I've already written Chapter 24. ^_~
Nice to see them all working together for a common goal. :)
Response from MsTree (Author of Velvet Song's Damsels & Dragons)
Well, Severus has some reservations. ^_^ Thanks for reading.
This is getting very exciting. I've read the first part of the story and I gave up imagining what could happen when it was abandonned. And now, it's just like a new story. I can hope and dream again. I have every confidence that they will manage to free Severus from this terrible curse. But there is a long way to get there. I am already anticipating every step of it and I'm sure I'll love every word. I really, really thank you for adopting this tale.
Response from MsTree (Author of Velvet Song's Damsels & Dragons)
You're welcome. It probably seems like a new story because, while our styles are similiar, my ideas are totally different from hers. VS has been reading my chapters as I get them finished and approves, so I am happy. As for a long journey, you're right. I've just completed Chapter 23 (using ther first 13 chapters as a jumping off point for chapter numbering) and there is a long way to go. ^_~
Cool. I'm glad to see everyone working together.
Response from MsTree (Author of Velvet Song's Damsels & Dragons)
Yeah, I seem to like teamwork in my stories. Couldn't tell you why, though. ^_^
Poor Severus! I hope he can be helped in time.I love this story!
Response from MsTree (Author of Velvet Song's Damsels & Dragons)
Thank you. I'm glad you do. It's been fun to write. I certainly hope he can be helped in time as well, but what he did to Remus in the last chapter I wrote... well! ^_^
Response from mimmom (Reviewer)
oh no, naughty Severus, has he been awful to Remus?
Response from MsTree (Author of Velvet Song's Damsels & Dragons)
Let's just say he got some of his own back. ^_~
Response from mimmom (Reviewer)
I can't say I blame Severus for being exceedingly upset about Sirius Black setting him up to face Remus as a Werewolf and he was a child when it happened. It's hard to be rational about something like that even though it was not Remus' fault and he was as much a victim as Snape.
Well, they're all in on it. It seems that none of them figured out what Hermione did. Of course, they weren't plagued with the dreams she had either. On to the search! I hope Hermione figures this one out, and it's nice to see everyone wanting to help.
Response from MsTree (Author of Velvet Song's Damsels & Dragons)
Well, Lucius, Narcissa and Draco knew before Hermione, but I'm not sure Susan did. Yeah, everyone (even Hagrid) will want to help. ^_^
Oh, boy. Two years. Just two years! The most wonderful thing is that it seems like everybody and their brother want to help. That's helpful as well as comforting, though it sounds like Snape is a little nervous.
Response from MsTree (Author of Velvet Song's Damsels & Dragons)
Well, you have to remember this story started seven years after the final battle and it's closing in on the eighth anniversary. That doesn't leave them very long now, does it? *grin* Glad you're enjoying this and, yes, I would say Snape should be a little nervous. After all, Hagrid wants to get involved. ^_~
Velvet Song chose well when she agreed to you finishing this story. It's a tricky task to pick up someone else's storyline and complete it without the effect being lost or too much jarring. Well done. I hope your sequel writing is coming along apace.I took the opportunity to look up SCA. What an interesting bunch of people you are. Unfortunately, real life at its ridiculous best precludes me from getting involved in anything new at the moment (which is why I've only just had the time to read your tale, but the up side is getting to read the whole thing through without stopping).
Response from MsTree (Author of Velvet Song's Damsels & Dragons)
I'm glad you enjoyed our little effort. While Velvet Song is not writing the sequel with me, I am using many of the ideas she and I discussed during the writing of the first story. The SCA is a very interesting group. I have been involved for over twenty years, but I've known of the group since its inception in the 1960's because I grew up in the area where the group was originally formed. Did you know the late Marion Zimmer Bradley was a charter member along with several other noted SFF writers? Truth! ^_^
excellent! I can't wait for the sequel.
Response from MsTree (Author of Velvet Song's Damsels & Dragons)
Thank you. I hope to start posting after the first of the year if I manage to finish the story by then. ^_^
YAY!
Response from MsTree (Author of Velvet Song's Damsels & Dragons)
I'm glad you enjoyed this. Thanks. ^_^
Glad all wound up being well. This is a terrible place to stop. This means you need to write quickly so we can have more of this wonderful story.
Response from MsTree (Author of Velvet Song's Damsels & Dragons)
Working on it, dearie. I'm doing the sequel as my NaNo project this year and you know I don't start posting until the story is completely written. *grin* Hopefully that will be sometime after the first of the year. ^_^
Oh, it was lovely!!!! MsTree, I KNEW when Velvet asked for someone to take over the story, that you were probably the most well-matched author for this type of story. Her style of writing and yours are so extremely similar that you two are like the Wonder Twins! It's absolutely wonderful to read this, and I am so happy that it turned out so well. Congratulations and I really look forward to reading a nice romantical sequel!
Response from MsTree (Author of Velvet Song's Damsels & Dragons)
Thank you for the kind words. I'm writing the sequel now, but I think there'll be a mystery element to it because the outline seems to have taken on a life of it's own. ^_^
Nice end. I look forward to the sequel.
Response from MsTree (Author of Velvet Song's Damsels & Dragons)
Thank you. Hopefully, I can do as good as job as this one. I'm writing the sequel now and hope to start posting (once I finish and find a beta) after the first of the year. ^_^
I am so glad the story was not abandoned. Thank you for a great ending
Response from MsTree (Author of Velvet Song's Damsels & Dragons)
But it's not the end. *grin* I'm in the middle of writing the sequel right now. ^_^
WHAT A BEUTIFUL WORD...SEQUEL. I WAS WANTING TO HEAR THAT BADLY. I LOVE THIS STORY. YOU & VELVETSONG (AND YOUR HELPERS OF COURSE!) HAVE DONE A MARVELOUS JOB ON THIS STORY. BRAVO... JIMBO
Response from MsTree (Author of Velvet Song's Damsels & Dragons)
Thank you, dear. I'm glad you enjoyed the story. I hope to be able to start posting (once I find a beta) after the new year. ^_^
This ending is so full of promises. I can't wait to read the sequel.
Response from MsTree (Author of Velvet Song's Damsels & Dragons)
In the process of writing it as we type. Hopefully, I will be ready for the beta process by the start of the new year. ^_^
Nicely promising end! :)
Response from MsTree (Author of Velvet Song's Damsels & Dragons)
That is probaby my favorite movie quote of all time and it seemed appropriate to filk it for the end of this story. Yes? ^_^
Nicely done... I loved how the thing they noticed first was that they no longer had that connection. Looking forward to a sequel!!
Response from MsTree (Author of Velvet Song's Damsels & Dragons)
Thank you for your support. I'm in the process of writing the sequel now as part of my NaNoWriMo project. Hopefully (crosses fingers), I will have it ready to start betaing by the first of the year. ^_^
Well done. Ohhh...... the pain they have to suffer but he's back....Hurrah!!
Response from MsTree (Author of Velvet Song's Damsels & Dragons)
Thank you. Final chapter is with my beta. I'll be posting it as soon as I get it back. ^_^
Severus reminds me of the dragons by Ciruelo. Love your potryal of Athair.
Response from MsTree (Author of Velvet Song's Damsels & Dragons)
I just took Velvet Song's original ideas and ran with them (with her kind permission, of course). *grin* Athair has all of Severus' foibles and faults, albeit in a giant economy sized package. ^_^
Response from pusswuss (Reviewer)
I will miss Athair when Severus returns; i love dragons espcially snarky ones.
Love the story and am .waiting for the next chapter.
Response from MsTree (Author of Velvet Song's Damsels & Dragons)
I'm glad you're enjoying it. The next to last chapter is in the queue right now. ^_^
Once again, I love it! You have done a much better job with this story than I could have ever hoped to!Anisebloodofyourlips@gmail.com
Response from MsTree (Author of Velvet Song's Damsels & Dragons)
Thanks. I finally got the next-to-last chapter back from my beta and I am going to post it to the queue tonight. ^_^
I'm confused about something. In this chapter, Hermione says she remembers seeing a mark on Athair's forelimb in the same place where the Dark Mark would have been -- which is how she was able to recognize that Athair is Severus. I remember reading details of this encounter in an earlier chapter either of this piece or Velvet Song's original story -- if I recall correctly, Hermione yelled at Athair and demanded that he crouch down so that she could look him in the eye -- but now I can't find it! What happened to it?
Response from MsTree (Author of Velvet Song's Damsels & Dragons)
I don't recall that passage in either of our story parts. However, I'll go through and read it again to make sure, especially since it's been a few years since either one of us wrote the story. ^_^
Response from MlleGigi (Reviewer)
I distinctly remember something in this encounter about Athair sheltering Hermione with one of his wings (from rain, I think)...and it's when she's close to his leg that she sees the Mark.
Response from MsTree (Author of Velvet Song's Damsels & Dragons)
I believe the chapter you were referring to is in Velvet Song's part of the story. It's the chapter entitled "The Damsel and the Dragon" where Hermione shouts at the dragon. She doesn't pull his head down to her, however. He pushes his head at her to help her to stand back up after she falls over. There's no mention of the Mark in the chapter; it's something I added when I started plotting out my part because it seemed logical. Hermione was up close and personal to the dragon. Ergo, she might notice a mark on the front leg of said dragon. ^_^
I stayed up all night reading this, and finished at about 221 EST. LOL! You really are a fabulous writer. I love your sense of humor. It adds such a wonderful flavor to the piece. Humor was never my strong point, and I LOVE reading a funny Severus. His and Hermione's banter in this is awesome! Thank you, again.
Response from MsTree (Author of Velvet Song's Damsels & Dragons)
You're welcome, again! *grin* I hate to see a good story abandoned, which is why I volunteered. As to the banter, it's Severus and Hermione, two very intelligent people. They remind me of the old Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn movies. What more can I say. ^_^
