War is hell, and the aftermath is often the most hellish part of all. Having lost everyone she most loves, Hermione Granger is only a shell of the woman she had been. Devastated by loss and guilt, Hermione draws the attention of Severus Snape with a random utterance.

Protector. That suits him well. I hope she'll begin to get better with him near. And maybe talk to him.
Maybe she should drink the one for depression instead. Again I firmly believe she needs a good therapy. I'm hoping Severus' visit will be the thing for her to accept help.
It's good to know Severus' POV. I wondered about his motives for helping her but I've realized he doesn't even know himself why. Now, will he knock or wait for her to open herself?
Am I right in thinking that he won't open the door until she knocked, thus materializing her asking for help. Because if she asks it means she is accepting impishly that she NEEDS help and that that she deserves it so she can try to heal. BTW I love how you treat the subject at hand.
First of all sorry for the delay in reviewing. I've been a bit busy lately. Now about Hermione I'm terribly sad for her. She needs a good therapy that's for sure. And I'm beginning to wonder about Severus' motives for helping her. Not that I don't expect a bit of a romance later but right now I'm curious to know why he would want to help her. *sigh* I suppose I will have to be patient.
See, it's not that simple Severus, it very rarely is.
loves you babe, Sonia :)
My heart goes out to hermione, it truly does.

Poor bloody Hermione, I feel so sorry for her. And who would have thought Severus, of all people would look out for her. It makes one think...

I read the first 7 chapters- what a read!!! I love it and cannot wait to see where you take it. It is truly captivating.
*sigh* blissful
I'm really enjoying your tale, thanks for your hard work.
I WANT MORE!!!!!
I really enjoyed this introspective of Hermione. I knew she was depressed, but somehow reading it, reading her thought patterns, really helped me to empathize with her mental situation.
I don't know, at this point, which of them is the more skittish. It's as if knocking is some sort of charm or spell that, if used, would open each one's fears to the world at large. She is afraid to announce her desperate need for him, and he can't bare for her to know how much he needs her.
I am delighted that she used his spell and keyed it to his DNA. C'mon, Severus! If the mountain won't come to Mohammad, the Mohammad must come to the mountain. Knock!
I adore this story, Subversa. It's such a delight to be reading your work, and I thank you.
Beth
I love your story
I had a feeling, when he left Grimmuald Place, that Serverus would end up having a hard time actually knocking on the door. I kind of wonder why though? Through out the fic he has taken this task of 'fixing' Hermione upon himself and although I realize that it's a bit of poetic justice and a show of how he also needs some 'fixing', it's still a surprise from this Severus, that, after all his efforts and basically 'bravery' as far as Hermione is concerned, he can't knock on her door when there's not even anyone else who's going to see or interrupt or really muck things up in any way. Or maybe that's what's he afraid of? I guess we'll see. :)
Oh wow! I thought for sure she'd be able to get in. I thought for sure he'd *let* her in! What a u-turn. Most unexpected. I'm wondering if it was Snape in that room at all?
what an amazing story. look forward to the rest. thsnks and mucho smoochies
