Reviews for Prisoners of Azkaban, Probationary Diaries August 2009, Prisoners #19-09-1979 and #09-01-1960
It seems very dystopia that the Shrieking Shack should be such a "commercial" place, much like a storefront eatery in a carnival town that offers "Toy-snakes, child-sized Death Eater masks, buttons flashing the Dark Mark."Who was the dark skinned, black haired, voluptuous woman who remarked on the Patil twins and what they said to them?Few employers are willing to hire half-bloods, or worse, Mudbloods. Who will give them a job?Beth

I had so much fun writing the Shrieking Shack as a tourist trap!
Wow. This story is just wow.

Thank you!
Will they choose to buy a house in Hogsmeade? Will they "find a wizard or witch of good repute to vouch for" them in Hogsmeade? For whatever reason, I'm glad that they were never branded. Could it be that Lucius Malfoy is trying to make the Wizarding world more like it had been before the Dark Lord reigned victorious?Beth

Hmm...
I'm happy that Hermione has realized that even after so long in Azkaban she can still love and be loved. The choice of their wand's wood is interesting and very appropriate.I wondered if anyone in Hogsmeade, especially at the Three Broomsticks, recognized them.Beth

There is always hope!
Was Severus' orgasm reality or dream? It probably isn't important now... tomorrow they go to Hogsmeade... with Draco.Beth

Very real! :)
"...roses always in full bloom and kittens playing in the sunshine. Four orange, like your beloved Crooks, and one black as coal…" When I read these words it made me wonder if Severus and Hermione would have children one day, one of whom would be the image of Severus.I was glad that Voldemort had died. And Bellatrix. And I was sorry that "they" now knew that Draco was alive. What is to happen to them?Beth

Hmmm...
Ahhhh. Draco is the lighthouse-keeper who found them when they fell from the sky. I think I understand Hermione's obsession with the squares in the floor and why it bothers her that there are no corners now, or that there weren't enough squares in her cell for the names... that ordered lattice was the locus about which her entire world revolved for "eleven years or 135 months or 587 weeks or 4,110 days."Beth

Severus and Hermione needed to come up with coping and survival strategies in their isolation. Now that they are released from prison, those strategies may hinder rather than help.
I hated seeing Hermione so broken. I nearly cried when Severus' grand gesture ended in failure. Both of them deserved so much more, but I'm grateful that they still have each other.Beth

Yes, and yes, and yes. *hugs*
The description the complete desolation of Severus' existence in Azkaban is very hard to read. Will he find someone to vouch for him, a place to live, a job? What will happen if he can't? It all seems so bleak right now.Beth

*face palm* I just realized this chapter is about Hermione. (I have printed the story index so I won't make that mistake again) *shakes head*Beth

It will get worse before it gets better ... but there's always hope!
I can't help but think it's kind of sad how often Severus reverts back to the mind-sanctuary he's made because it seems to me that he would rather retreat there rather than deal with his worry over Hermione. Obviously he hasn't talked much with her, if in fact he's talked to her about health and well-being at all! Does it seem a moot point with him? It's almost as though it's easier to retreat internally than it is to deal with even fixable problems. I guess as Muggles, we've learned that two of the best healers are time and discussion. Talking things out - the worry, the isolation, the fear - helps us tremendously to rectify worry, to know that there is concern, and care. But as wizards, especially as Severus Snape, there isn't much talking to be done, which I fear will only hurt Hermione in the long run.
Response from JunoMagic (Author of Prisoners of Azkaban, Probationary Diaries August 2009, Prisoners #19-09-1979 and #09-01-1960)
I think they are not ready to talk yet. After such a long period of isolation, I imagine it will take time until they can really talk again.
hm the mysterious Madame Agan, friend or foe, looking forward to learn about that. Great chapter as allways

That is indeed the question ...
It's good to hear Severus has some reason for pride still. But I wonder what it means that Hermione's running into all these people. It couldn't be just a coincidence, could it?
Response from JunoMagic (Author of Prisoners of Azkaban, Probationary Diaries August 2009, Prisoners #19-09-1979 and #09-01-1960)
Hmm, no, not coincidence. It wouldn't remain a secret that Severus and Hermione are free again, nor the conditions of their probation, I think ...
There is a method to all this madness, I presume? Because this is the absolutely angsty-ess (yes, I just made that word up), saddest, most pathetic two people-written-in-a-story ever!
Response from JunoMagic (Author of Prisoners of Azkaban, Probationary Diaries August 2009, Prisoners #19-09-1979 and #09-01-1960)
No worries, there will be a resolution. :-) Thank you for your kind words!
Response from Severus49 (Reviewer)
Lol! That's the first time my pity's ever been called "kind", I think.
It's kind of sad, having Snape reduced to a cook, but I have a feeling this will all work out to be something bigger in the end.

May I call you Sybill? ;-)
This is a mind-blowing piece of art, and one of the reasons I love fanfiction.
The story is a harsh one, and so heart-breaking. Eleven years in Azkaban, even without Dementors is just terrible. But their reactions are so believable, and their desperation and survival-"tricks" come across almost brutally realistic.
The format of the story - uneditet diary entries together with notes - was wonderful! I loved it, especially the later academic chapters and discussios. (Complete with references! I bow in reverence to your thoroughness!) It gives a very stark contrast to the naked feelings in the diary. Like a much needed cold shower to wash away all the feelings evoked by the diary.
Bravo!
what a ride! loved every moment!
wow, that's beautiful...
it's quite ingenious
*respect*
ah! i thought it may have been some sort of censorship, but this makes much more sense =)
Everytime I read this, I cry. The plot is well written and believable and the emotions are magical. I hurt for their suffering and I cry as I read of their later lives. This is such a good story to read.
This story is a kick in the head and a punch to the heart and so very well done.
