wow, that was a great chapter. I now think that something happened like what happened with Sirius and Wormtail. i can't wait to find out the answer though.
Response from kizzy7 (Author of This Present Darkness)
Glad you enjoyed! It is one of my personal favs. As for what happened... I promise you will find out soon! Just a couple more chapters now. Thanks, snapefan!

Hmmm. Well, I suppose I should now cross Solomon off the suspect list. It would be unlikely that he'd lose his wife and start killing others. Of course I know it's a huge part of your plot buy I'm positively obsessed with knowing Severus' reasons for killing (if he infact did so) all those people. Very good.
Response from kizzy7 (Author of This Present Darkness)
Thank you, my dear! So glad you enjoyed! Yes, cross Solomon off your list, that is a pretty safe thing to do... hehe. And yes it is a huge part of my plot, but I promise you, you find out soon. A couple of chapters and you'll find out.

It seems like she is going to have to confront him over what really happened with those murders... certainly a painful task.

But won't you be glad to know? And so will Hermione. The next chapter should be up soon. Thank you so much for reading and thoughtfully leaving a review for each chapter,

There is something significant about Hermione not going to see him, and I don't think it is just because of what happened between them that night.
Response from kizzy7 (Author of This Present Darkness)
Yes, why didn't Hermione go to see him?! That is a good question.

I am so glad he hasn't gone mad in that prison! Poor thing.
Response from kizzy7 (Author of This Present Darkness)
Poor Severus, poor Hermione. Really just a sad situation all around. Nope, he hasn't gone mad in prison, just increasingly bitter.

There has to be more to the murders than that! Imperious?

Murderer of 9? I can't wait for this explanation.
Response from kizzy7 (Author of This Present Darkness)
Yup. murderer of 9. *cackles evilly* I'm afraid you have to wait a bit before you find out why he did it. Or if!! Thanks for reviewing!

Oh I love it! I am hooked.I'm not sure why you kept some of HBP and DH and threw out, well, a lot of Snape, but I'm looking forward to finding out and to seeing where you're going with this.Looking forward on the edge of my seat, that is.
Response from kizzy7 (Author of This Present Darkness)
Glad to hear I've hooked you! I kept alot of DH and HBP basically because before dh came out, I had this theory that was basically right (although I didn't know that voldie had split his soul 7 times... or about the elder wand, etc.) But I SO thought that Harry was going to die. I couldn't see it ending any other way. The Snape stuff is just this idea that came to me suddenly. *winks* Love hearing from you, snapify! ~kizzy

He made it look like he killed those people and went to prison so he could live for her didn't he?
Response from kizzy7 (Author of This Present Darkness)
*is not telling* You'll find out, I promise ;) I love hearing theories though--seeing how close ya'll are (though I'm not telling how close you are!). Just wait and see. Thanks for reading and reviewing,

Wow, he's really diabolical. But in my heart of hearts, I can't really believe that he truly killed nine people, no matter what the pensieve showed. (I'm really dumb like that. It's like all of those people who insist that O.J. is innocent. He's still looking for the real killers, btw.) I still say there's another explanation. And if he did truly kill them, I'm going to be hopping mad, because I don't think that's forgivable. The man is so obviously still in love with her and she with him. I'm interested to see how you get around this murder rap thing and get them together. It's not like Hermy will say, "You killed nine, including two kids, who cares?"
Response from kizzy7 (Author of This Present Darkness)
Of course oj was innocent... the gloves were too "tight." I STILL can't believe that man got off... ah, our justice system! And of course there is no forgivable reason for killing nine people. None at all. Not for Dumbledore, not for the greater good, not for the War effort. And yes they are obviously still very much in love with each other. It's a sad situation, especially for Hermione, who would definitely never just let him off. So... what is really going on? Have I made Snape THAT diabolical? Well... you'll see. ;) Thanks for reviewing,

Very interesting, rather fascinating... what WAS it Snape motivated to do what he did? And what does he plan and want now? And why the heck isnt't he more affected after all these years of prison? Mysteries galore. I will resume my puzzling and patient waitening... ;o)
Author's Response: Again, thank you for your wonderful review! I love hearing from you, my dear! And you'll find out what motivated him... and what exactly is going on, I promise ;) And Snape is affected... though differently that Sirius (because there are not very many Dementors in Azkaban anymore). Thanks for reviewing! *hugs*
this is so excellent! it reminds me a little of hannible and clarice from the movie. i hope at some point we find out what really happened to sev. and i want to see how she's going to get him out! thanks so much
Response from kizzy7 (Author of This Present Darkness)
I *totally* draw on hl/cs throughout this story. *sigh* Can't help it. I shipped hannibal/clarice long before sev/hermione. And of course you find out what really happened! I try to confuse you a bit first though. And Hermione, poor girl. Oh, and she will get him out. Hermione is nothing if not determined and resourceful. Thanks for reviewing again,

Thank you for the update (reading that the story is finished is music in my ears, I am getting hooked on this one, that is for sure), it was brilliantly written as usual:-)So, you really know how to make people have conflicted emotions; My number one favourite pairing in the HP-world is Severus and Hermione, I am addicted to stories with happy endings for them together and especially where some of Severus sacrifaces are aknowlegded and rewarded. Then you have this story; My heart screems for Severus to be free, in love and living happily ever after with Hermione. But, my mind says, and my heart reluctantly agrees that it is a valid point; there is no excuses for murdering 9 innocent people, none whatsoever. I know all sort of evil and discusting acts are committed and forgiven in fanfics (and in the real life) claimed to be "for the better good", but no, I can't find it in my concience to accept or forgive this. As much as I love Severus in all his snarkiness and secrets, I don't think such an act could or should be forgiven, ever. Doing so will make Hermione just as guilty as him in a way (my oppinion I know). So, either I set my self out for a heartbreak for reading a story that could never have a happy ending, or I will have to kling to the hope that you have more up your sleeve and that you have only given us parts of the truth. I still long to read more though:-))

-- I love your reviews. So insightful and well thought out. Really, reviewers like you are why I love to write. Thank you! Similar to you, my OTP is sshg (actually pretty much the only ship I will read). And I am... slightly obsessed, shall we say? I really, truly believe that they are compatible in every way. Now, in this story, things are a bit more... complicated. Hermione and Severus love each other at this point, but Hermione is going to go through much turmoil-- if the one person you love above all others murdered nine innocent people, then what does that say about you? And what if despite all you still love him?! Well, there is a lot in store for her. As for the end, I don't want to give anything away, but *perhaps* not all is as it seems. You will find out eventually! *hugs* ~kizzy

Hmmm. But *why* did he want to? Is he truly evil, or was it to protect someone? Severus Snape is not given to flights of fancy. Also, it sounds like he knew it was coming? Or had already happened?

I don't mean to be so vague, but I don't want to give anything away, lol! Thanks for reviewing, I really appreciate it! The next chapter is in the queue! ~kizzy
