How disturbing... the Angel is definitely more than a few sandwiches short of a picnic! It will be interesting to learn if the death of his loved one drove him mad, or if his sanity had always been questionable... With his having been a Death Eater, I'm personally leaning toward the latter, but we'll see!On a more "normal" note, I'm glad to see that Luna apparently has Ron well in hand! Good for her. And I'm also eagerly awaiting Severus' explanation for his stay in Azkaban. Same bat time, same bat channel?
Response from kizzy7 (Author of This Present Darkness)
Okay, Angel is seriously disturbed, and on many levels. Creeped myself out when I write him! I would agree with you... I think that he has never been 'sane,' but definitely the death of his wife pushed him over the edge. Oh, I love Luna! I have always loved her character, and I really think that she would be so good for Ron. In canon, I *totally* thought that something was going to happen between the two of them. Oh well. That is why we have fanfiction! And yes, same bat time, same bat channel, hehe! Thanks!
Hopefully she will follow her heart, not her head.
Response from kizzy7 (Author of This Present Darkness)
Ah, yes. Logic versus emotion. You know, I've always been told that you should ideally love with your head as well as your heart, but in this situation, I just don't know. What will Hermione do?? Thanks, sunny!
It may be a bit late for explanations, but oh, well.
Response from kizzy7 (Author of This Present Darkness)
I agree. It may be a little too late, and the explanation may still be a little too much for Hermione to handle. More will be up soon. Thanks,

Aaargh – can't wait to get this son of a bitch caught! You are creating suspense worthy of Alfred Hitchcock here!
Response from kizzy7 (Author of This Present Darkness)
*blushes* Alfred Hitchcock suspense!! One of the best compliments I have ever received!! Also one of my all time favorite directors, so thank you sooo much! More will be up soon. Thanks,

The evidence so far still allows me to believe (as I did from the start) that the killer/necrophile is Lucius Malfoy, and Solomon might be he (in disguise)! Though Henry is beginning to sound more creepy, too. But maybe you've dreamed up something entirely different... Still no lemons for Severus and Hermione, huh? When, oh when?
Response from kizzy7 (Author of This Present Darkness)
Sad, lemonless existence! Lemons are on the horizon, though. Sev needs to explain himself first though... Angel is definitely creepy... *shudders* Thanks, Hannah!
OMG the killer was a Death Eater. Tell Hermione to get her ass back home.
Response from kizzy7 (Author of This Present Darkness)
Yup. She definitely needs to get herself back home. And watch her back while she's at it!

Ugh, the first part is quite gross; you're quite good about how atrocious this is... Hermione and her inner battlings are well described. And the tension nears unbearable - WHAT the hell has happened, WHAT the hell has Severus to tell? I'm SO eager for your explanation oft his seemingly unexplainable mystery...
Author's Response: The first part is definitely gross! The guy is a creep, all around. So glad you liked the inner emotional turmoil Hermione is going through-- one of the things I really wanted to portray. Ah, yes, tension! So we will see if his explanation acquits him... Oh, btw, I notice that you gave me five stars! *dances* Thanks!
Oh, my gosh, that Angel is a sick, twisted freak. My heart was in my throat this entire chapter, kizzy. I was waiting for Solomon to stick a needle in her, or for her to be jumped in Hogsmeade, or whatever.
Now I'm questioning my guesses. It would make more sense for this guy to be Lucius Malfoy, or Rodolphus Lestrange. Maybe a glamoured one of these two as a prison guard in Azkaban. Perhaps the one who led Hermione to Snape?
Yeah, I'm grasping. Can't wait for the part where Severus tells his story.
Response from debjunk (Reviewer)
Okay, so I reviewed the 'evidence' and I'm going to put my money on Lucius Malfoy. His image has gone through my mind a couple of times while reading this story, but I've not put much creedence into it until now.
Response from kizzy7 (Author of This Present Darkness)
Deb! Glad you enjoyed this chapter and found it suspenseful! What I was going for, so yay! Okay, so I was definitely slightly disturbed when I wrote the first part. Creepy! Sick, twisted freak indeed. As for your guesses... I *really* don't want to give too much away... but you are on the right track, dear. Oh, and the next chapter where Sev explains himself to Hermione is, I must admit, my fav. So we'll see how it goes over. Thanks! *hugs*
I can't wait for the next chapter. I really want to know what Severus' reasons are. I hope he enjoys his night!I really have no idea who the Angel is. Is it someone that we don't know is a Death Eater? Hmmm....And I also want to know if Severus will go back to Azkaban! Maybe he and Hermione should run away together.
Response from kizzy7 (Author of This Present Darkness)
I will get the next chapter up soon, as soon as I can, I promise! He will enjoy his night, but he has a lot of explaining to do... The Angel is a Death Eater, has access to Dementors... You'll find out the answers to all of your questions soon! Thanks!
Well, maybe they will run away together. I like that immediate scenario better than the others I'm imagining.
Response from kizzy7 (Author of This Present Darkness)
They might! But would Hermione really run away with him?! Ah, you will see... Thanks, as always!
I'm trying to think who hangs around with Dementors?? Hmmmm. I love the explaination you've given for what the potion actually does...The necrophilia was a bit on the creepy side, but I didn't think the killer would be sweet, and fun to be with. Very good.
Response from kizzy7 (Author of This Present Darkness)
rhiannon, you are on the right track. Who in this story has access to Dementors?? The potion was actually kind of fun to think up. And, yes, the necrophilia bit... I creeped myself out when I wrote it, wondering if it was TOO much, you know? But in the end, I went with it, because this killer is seriously messed up. Definitely not fun to be with, haha! Thanks!
This latest chapter certainly add a new wrinkle to the story -- the fact that our serial killer is a former Death Eater leads me to suspect that my theory concerning the killer's identity is off-base. In any case, I'm looking forward to Severus's explanation for what happened all those years ago...
Response from kizzy7 (Author of This Present Darkness)
Oh, he has a lot of explaining to do, that is for sure! Will it completely acquit him in Hermione's mind? Or yours? We will see... Thanks,
Response from kizzy7 (Author of This Present Darkness)

I wonder whether Severus will get the night he is hoping for, I do hope so. But I can't think who this angel could be!

I almost had Henry pegged as the serial killer, but now I'm not really sure. My best guess is that it's Solomon. I don't want to know, though! Just keep writing, I am enjoying the mystery!

Yes, it does. When I imagine it, I think of the Black Oil in the X-Files... actually kind of inspired it. Yup, I'm a huge x-phile, lol. Thanks for reading and reviewing, sunny! ~kizzy
