Hermione's robes sound gorgeous! Sorry for Severus, but if he can't learn from past mistakes (letting Lily get swept away by James) then maybe he's not really all that in love? Naw, we know he is, he just needs to apply some of that cunning towards getting what he wants.  That's what makes this a great story we will get to see our dark and dangerous bad-boy in action. I can't wait for the next potions class.

Severus is the one who pushed her away.  I don't blame her for trying to find happiness elsewhere for a while.  The ball sounded lovely.  The description of her robes kind of reminded me of the ones that amr wrote in The Lioness Prophecy. 

I was pleasantly surprise that Professor Snape asked Hermione to dance — I had thought that he might continue his "off-putting" behavior toward her.  I wish he had been able to bring himself to flirt with her more.  Dumbledore seems to be hinting to Hermione that she and Severus look good together.Anthony quickly decided to advance his case before the ball ended.  Having witnessed Hermione's and Anthony's kiss, Severus is sure to be plotting something to change the present focus of Hermione's attentions.Great chapter, and I am looking forward to the next update!Beth

Only one week to organize! Eeek, I understand how stressed up Hermione must feel! LOL! I hope it will work out smoothly, but I guess Severus won't like seeing Hermione and Anthony together much.

I bet Hermione and Anthony will have their hands full for the next week. Not a bad chapter, I would have liked a bit more detail but this chapter isn't set up for it.

Awwww, poor Hermione.  I'm enjoying your fic but I do have an observation. If Hermione is in her seventh and final year with only four months to go till graduation you would think that Severus would wise up and start subtely wooing her, with in reason of course after all there still is a since of propriety that needs to be maintained. Sometimes I wonder just how brillant that man is.

I'm actually kinda glad that Severus is suffering a bit. It makes up for the fact that he's being an ass to Hermione. I can't wait to see his reaction when Hermione shows up with Anthony.  I'm looking forward to a description if not picture of her dress. I'm sure it's going to be something that will really get to Severus.

Well, I think we all knew how Severus would react to Dumbledore's announcement of the upcoming ball:  'Only a brainless twit would be so interested in such a pointless event,' he snapped...   No surprise there.And Hermione didn't sound so enthusiastic about it herself:  'Does that mean, Professor, that you expect Anthony and me to organize this in one week?'I wonder what the turmoil will be like during the ball when Severus sees Hermione walk in on the arm of Mr. Anthony Goldstein, Head Boy of Hogwarts — the one with the smile that Severus Snape does NOT like — when it is aimed at Hermione Granger.Sooner or later something is gonna blow.  Poor Severus.  *Sigh*Great chapter!Beth

I love your story so far.  Sorry I haven't left any reviews before this.  I'm looking forward to seeing how the relationship between Hermione and Severus develops and how much miscommunication and denial happens before they finally realize they're meant for each other.

Hmmm a jealous Severus is on the loose.  Perhaps a few misunderstandings are on the way...Nice flow in this chapter.  It's good to see Hermione functioning with out Harry and Ron.
