Oh, I wish that Severus and Hermione could maintain the easy familiarity they had developed over the holidays, but now it's back to things as usual.  But I know that they are very much interested in each other.  Severus admitted to himself "that he had actually been trying extremely hard to hide any abnormal feelings for the girl, especially now that he had come to think of her as a friend."  Hermione was clearly disappointed that her reception by Professor Snape was not a warm one and that she "had been received most unwelcomely by a now uncaring Snape. It had not taken him very long to morph back into the greasy-git Professor that she was so used to..."I can't wait to see where you will take us as your story progresses.  Well done.Beth

That was a really sad Christmas, although they were very thoughtful of each other.  I like the ending.  They both need the affection.

Short but sweet chapter.  It is good that Severus finally figured out he's attracted to Hermione.

In spite of the day starting off with our hero and heroine being uncertain of themselves and their relationship, by the end of Christmas Day, they had seemed to reach a level of understanding that permitted shared emotion.

I hope that Severus will take Hermione to The Burrow to visit Harry and Ron.  I wonder how Molly and Arthur would react to Severus's being in their home (and to Dumbledore's having appointed Severus to be Hermione's guardian during the holidays)?I really enjoy this tale of the two of them getting to know one another!!!Beth

Good chapter, I thought Hermione breaking Severus's nose was funny.  I laughed at the colorful metaphor Severus used as well.  I don't speak French, But that phrase was familiar to a Spanish phrase that I do know.  Close enough for government work there! :D

I want a house elf! I promise I would treat him/her very nicely. 

She is so young, and this situation is so amazingly contrived.  (Not on your part, on Albus's).  I wonder what he was thinking.  Good chapter. 

I'm glad they got Hermione's hurt feelings sorted out!  Ouch! for the broke noses, but Severus quickly put them to rights.Since they had a good and amiable dinner, and Hermione learned something nice that she hadn't known about him, I wonder what direction their relationship will take on Christmas morning?  Will they exchange presents?  Will they exchange anything else?  Is it too soon?  I can't wait for the next chapter!Beth
