Welcoming Our New Admin

I wanted to take the time to announce the newest addition to The Petulant Poetess's growing family ... our new admin.  I am very happy to welcome cocoachristy, who has been working as an apprentice admin with Southern_Witch_69.  Believe it or not, "learning the ropes" is not as easy as it looks, but cocoachristy is doing an excellent job and will no doubt be on her own soon.  As it is with Southern_Witch_69 and myself, Cocoachristy is also a PI accredited beta.  We work hard to keep our own standards high so that all submitting authors know that here on TPP, you are in good hands.

The addition of an admin to the staff here at The Petulant Poetess means that we are growing.  The number of submissions we receive is increasing, something that we are all very happy about.  With another admin, we can serve you better and more efficiently.  Please, everyone, I hope you join me in welcoming cocoachristy aboard.

Another great month has passed.

In the past month, we've had 132 new stories posted, 73 WIPs updated, and of those, 124 have been marked as completed.

The site itself has gained 334 new members. Welcome and enjoy, all!

There were 4492 reviews posted last month. Of those posted, authors have responded to 3240. This is a truly great way to get to know your readers.

When You Need Help

Hi, everyone!

I need to write a note here as a reminder to all of you who use the 'Help Me' email section on the Help page to please, please, put in a correct email address so that I may get back to you.

A lot of people just put in either the first part of their email address (forgetting the @xxx.com part) or put in a name.  Then it sends it to me, but I have no one to reply to.  As a result I am sure quite a few of you feel I've ignored you.  I try looking you up several ways and on different sites, and a lot of times fail.

Eventually, I will get around to fixing the code so that if it doesn't detect a correct email address it just won't send it, but until then, know you are not being ignored and if you don't hear from me within 24-48 hours, please try again.

AOL Hell

Pardon my language above.  All day yesterday and all day today (Saturday and Sunday), AOL has been bouncing back e-mails sent by the site.  If you are an AOL user and have not been receiving e-mails, this is why.  If you are an AOL user and have been receiving at least some e-mails, could you please comment to this post to let me know.  I'm curious how much effort I'm going to have to put into fighting AOL on this.  (And I will do my best as I've had an account with them since 1994.  They should listen to me.)

Take Note!

Writers take note: additions have been made to the Punctuation Guide in the Writers' Resource area. » Click here to take a look at the additions. « For all authors who are submitting stories, please note that the rules (taken from several reputable reference books) found in the Punctuation Guide are followed by the admins when validating stories.

Another useful addition was on the forum boards. A member suggested that I provide a place to upload plot bunnies that wanted to be adopted. » Please visit the forum board here « to make an addition or to snag (adopt) an idea if your muse has taken a vacation.

Possible Slow Queue Time

Hi, all. Some of us celebrate the "holidays" with family and won't have time to work the queue as we normally do. Please bear with us if it seems to take a little longer for your story to get validated or updated. After Sunday, we'll be back on track again.

And it's only a possiblity that things might slow down for us. Personally, I've a case of Budweiser with my name on it for tomorrow, so I doubt I'll be much help. Wanna come? Bring your own Firewhisky! :)
