Hermione Granger's world is upended when a letter from the Ministry of Magic forces her to be the one thing she couldn't have imagined in her most feverish nightmares: the wife of her dreaded Potion's master.
~~ My little attempt at the WIKTT Marriage Law Challenge ~~ Lascivious rating is for the hot monkey sex to come in later chapters.

A 30-something aspiring romance novelist shamelessly (and obsessively) devoted to Harry Potter and many other geeky fandoms. I ship mostly Hermione/Snape and Harry/Hermione, but have been known to dabble in others.

Oh my goodness, there are so many people who I feel sorry for. There don't really seem to be any winners here, just a bunch of losers. Well, that doesn't sound very nice, I suppose, LOL.
It has been awhile since I read the earlier chapters, but I don't recall Harry doing anything to deserve Hermione's treatment. Yes, maybe he should have asked about her intentions before jumping into bed with her, but come on, she is the object of his affections, and while he had written her off as unobtainable, she suddenly is his for the taking. I am 100% behind Harry. Until the point down the road where he screws things up.
Hermione is certainly making a string of bad choices, but let's don't forget that she is a teenager, and not in the most normal of circumstances. Yes, she should think before she acts, but maybe she will now.
Severus, well, his fiancee just slept with the son of his worst enemy. That's rough. But I think he took it in stride. It certainly didn't tarnish his opinion of the girl. I think he was very in character this chapter, it is just the side of him that we don't often see. And, if he had been nicer to her, she may not have run to Harry. He really does need to understand that she didn't exactly choose this situation for herself. I hope that this is a turning point for their relationship. Not that I don't want to see sparks fly a few more times, but I like these two together in these rare emotional moments.
Don't disappear on us, okay. To Hell with real life! Is anyone with me?
Hermione here has really used and abused Harry in this story with little regard to his feelings. Asking him to give her away at the wedding and now having sex with him - I just....am not very fond of her at the moment.
I am enjoying this story and all it's complexities very much.
The tears are welling up in my eyes at that little breakdown Hermione had in the dressing room. *sniffle*
I love, love, LOVE this story. So glad to see you back.
I actually thought Snape's reaction to overhearing their conversation was in character. Especially considering his past. I just wish we could see more of that side of Severus, but I know it will take a long time and a lot more suffering on both their parts before he feels comfortable with her and truly trusts her to be himself completely. Too bad. Makes for great drama and angst, though. And a great story.
Great chapter! I hope there will soon be more :D
I really do enjoy this story even with the long breaks inbetween updating. I usually just re-read the last couple of chapters to get back in the loop of the story. I really do love this one. I always look forward to see the email telling me it has been updated. Thanks again and I hope that things in real life start going your way. Thanks again.
I'm not about to heap praise on this Hermione. I like when Hermione is feisty, but not so much when she practically poops her pants when Severus as much as looks at her with kind eyes. I think she's acting like an idiot. Poop or get off the pot, Granger, you either want him to woo you - which includes trying to kiss you - or you want to be a cold fish. Severus calls her out on it even, but she just doesn't get that she's acting like that non-stop even with all her fantasies of falling for Snape. She can't have it both ways. Every time he tries to kiss her or flirt with her, she's worse than a skittish colt, freaking out like she's unleashed a heard of demons on herself. Then she wonders why he doesn't kiss her? For Pete's sake! You'd wonder why he'd even try to after a time. It's got to be downright exasperating for him. And it's downright exasperating to read as well!
Hermione's handling herself just fine. It's bound to be stressful, but at least she's matching the Marquis pound for pound!
I loved this chapter. I loved seeing the compassionate side of Severus... then his usual side. Please post the next chapter soon!
Holy crap I saw an update and almost shouted for joy, very nearly waking my roommate. :D
Poor Harry, a victim of Hermione's muddled thinking and his own desires. Hopefully he will grow to understand why she did it and why she doesn't want to do it again. :)
And great to see you back.!
Whoa. Our Sev is a rapist.
Um.
Whoa.
It's interestiong. Everyone here actually said some very truthful things about the situation. It saddens me that Hermione chose this way out - Harry isn't mature enough to have served for this purpose, even if she'd chosen to do this for better reasons. It is also sad that Severus has been placed in this situation, because I'm not seeing Harry let this pass as a lesson learned. I hope that too many people aren't hurt by Hermione's rather thoughtless actions. I am glad to see that she's at least owning up to her actions and not making excuses.
I'm so thrilled to see this story updated! I thoroughly enjoyed this chapter, especially the heady confessions and revelations towards the end. I can't wait for the next update!!
PLEASE PLEASE finish this tale. it's t6errifc!!
will there come a day when snape might actually be agreeable towards his wife? :D i dont see that happening soon tho. so the longer this story is, the better! :)
Oh, my! I love the idea of Neville and Tonks. They'll be very good for each other, won't they?
The beautiful robes that Amelie brought to Hermione show her off to perfection, and I can't wait to see what Severus does the first time he sees her in the. It'll fairly knock his socks off. When he sees her in one of those lovely creations, he will be seeing Hermione-the-woman, not the insufferable Know-It-All.
I could understand Harry's not wanting to give Hermione away in marriage to Severus, but it was a bitter blow to their friendship. But never fear, Hagrid will do the honor proudly. Her parents refusal to be at their wedding was cruel in the extreme. I can't imagine ever refusing to do that where one of my children is concerned. Regardless of what I thought about the marriage partner, I could never destroy the foundation of family for such a reason as that. It's just not right.
How much longer will it be till we get to attend the wedding of the century when Severus Tobais Snape takes Hermione Jane Grainger to be his lawful wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward until death do us part.
And I'm really looking forward to getting to meet Severus' father. That little get together should prove to be very interesting.
Wonderful! Wonderful! Wonderful!

So now Hermione has become a psychologist. That was an interesting and very well crafted chapter. I hope we’ll read more about Amelie. She’s cute.
That was really a delightful chapter. I love the idea of Neville and Tonks, actually.
Lady Tuesday, this is a wonderful story. In fact, I have been reading your tales for a couple of days now & have thoroughly enjoyed it! Please, please come back to this one & finish it! I so want to see how everything plays out. Tell your muse I am begging. Thanks for wonderful writing!
snape shopping!?!!? that's something i'd pay to see. thanks so much
That was an excellent chapter. It would have been great if JKR had written Snape like that.
I still can't get why Ginny didn't propose to Harry. Wasn't she upset at Hermione because she "was taking all the men
Your Snape is so perfect. I found that, even though this chapter was not short by any means, I didn't want it to end.
I can hardly wait to see how it goes with Snape's father. Hopefully better than it did with Hermione's father! She stood by Snape in that instance. I hope he returns the favor if things turn sour.
ah, the "old school" MLC
i'm getting nostalgic
a duke? well, well, well
Oscar Wilde rulez!
thanks!
Shopping with Severus, I do hope it loosens them up a little.
