LOL.  I'm married to an over-thinker.  He's occasionally snarky and has a PhD in chemistry.  Ummm...I've known him for 33 years.  He was born in 1960.  Anyway, I never really thought about these resemblances until pretty recently and I've been a Snape fan for 6 years or so.  Oh, and he doesn't hide his emotions but his face is almost impossible to read because he has strong asperger tendencies.

no.  Well, if he let's his hair go for more than 48 hours it gets quite greasy.  He keeps it VERY short.  He doesn't wear robes, just lab coats and I don't notice him skulking but he does do an awful lot of cleaning.  LOL.  He's a bit obsessive about cleaning.  Which is maddening mainly because then he gets snarky that I'm not doing more of it.  The fact that both of my kids have special needs means I tend to have other priorities that interfere with cleaning.  LOL.  Neither of them have particularly severe problems but my son is on the autism spectrum and running back and forth to appointments and schools takes up a ton of time.I saw a story in which someone wrote Snape as having asperger syndrome completely undiagnosed but with lots of his thoughts.  I really loved it because it kind of starts with his childhood.  It's not a long story, just glimpses.  Still, what IS it with me that makes me like these brainy, intense and socially awkard types?!Oh and if a guy is brainy, he can look like a troll so even if Snape really was as hideous as JKR wrote him I'd still be fascinated.

I agree with you about still being fascinated with Snape even if he was gross, though a lot of my Snape obsession is supported by the dreamy Alan Rickman. ;)And I would love to read that fic about Snape w/Aspergers! What's it called?

Oh god yes.  The thing is, I noticed Snape first.  Then he introduced me to Alan Rickman.  ROFL.  I've watched every film I could find.  I own copies of quite a few.  I watched HP and the Chamber of Secrets and thought, "That guy is doing a pretty amazing job with that Snape character."  Then I mentioned this to my neighbor and she said, "You have to watch Die Hard!"  I couldn't believe it was the same guy.  Then I got a netflix membership and rented and rented and RENTED.  My love of Snape is almost separate from my Alan Rickman thing.  Snape isn't my favorite AR character but he's a favorite ficitonal character.  I was fascinated from the first book and the more I read the more interested I was because I knew there was more to him.  I remember reading book five and a chill going right up my spine when something clicked and I KNEW.  I knew his motivations.  I was almost sort of disappointed then when I found out that JKR really DID write him with this Lily obsession.  It was like I wanted her to be more creative than that.  But, it IS a kid book afterall.I think the asperger story was called Ocho.  I'll see if I can find it.
