I'm glad to hear it! Thanks!
This is pretty damn impressive for a first-attempt @ a SevMione! :D I love how much detail you gave in their locales, how you developped their changing emotions & relationship, and how you wound the other characters in on the side. Nice job!
I so love Hermione's explaination that she needed the story to ensure that she was never second.Lovely story. You did HG/SS proud

That was absolutely the finest explanation of the Lily and Severus relationship that I have ever read! I don't think Jo Rowling could of done better. Oh, and congrats on a wonderful story and extremely good ending.

Thank you! That's very high praise! I didn't feel that she gave him enough credit in the books, and it's not fair to doom him to a life of loneliness because he can't get over a woman he loved as a teenager and young man. He deserves better, and I tried to give it to him. Thanks again!

What a wonderful story! I remember a spy-snape challenge on wiktt a while ago and was really intrigued by it -- but that's beside the point... This was riveting. The first hints of attraction between s & h seemed a little bit awkward -- the physical descriptions that they seemed so aware of -- but the characterization throughout? Exquisite. Thanks for a great fic. I wish there was more... ;)

Thank you for the great review! I'm really pleased you enjoyed this! Especially that you thought the characterization was good. Phew! :) It was my first SS/HG (and only, at this point), so I'm really happy to hear (read?) you say that. Thank you again!

Great ending. I loved what you did with Severus' love for Lily. I think you got it right.

Thank you! I'm glad you liked that explanation. I didn't like the way JKR made it and wanted to give him more credit. Thanks for the review!

This is a really great story! It's very different and I like that. I'm just a bit worried that Harry, Ginny, and Luna will endanger Hermione's life with their good intentions. I love the slow, yet quick realizations that Severus and Hermione are having about each other.

Well, I'm responding backwards. Oh well! Glad you liked the earlier chapters too! :)

Very nice ending, no instant relationship, but something they can build on.
Response from floorcoaster (Author of Mea Culpa)
Thank you! I think it's a little more realistic that way. And I'm sure they did build on it! :)

This was brilliant and totally different! I hope that there will be a sequel in the future! ;)

Thank you! I love the "totally different" part. :) Sequel, eh? I hadn't thought of that! We'll see what the muse does with me! Thanks for the review!
Response from hermione278 (Reviewer)
:) The end just seems to call for it. I'd be happy to beta for you if you do decide to write a sequel ;)
Response from floorcoaster (Author of Mea Culpa)
Oh wow! Thank you! I will certainly keep that in mind. Right now I've got a big D/Hr story that's demanding my attention, but who knows? I do agree though, that I left them kind of .... In limbo. I have tried writing an epilogue, but it didn't work out too well. Maybe a sequel is what's called for instead. Though I have no idea what it would entail!

Oooh, I'll check that story out tomorrow!I'm sure some little adorable hooked-nose plot bunny with unruly fur will pop into your head eventually :D

What an absolutely unique take on SSHG! I thoroughly enjoyed this tale. You have breathed life into the genre. My only gripe is that it was over too soon! I want more. :)In all seriousness though - it ends where it should. :) Thank you for the enjoyable read this evening!

I love that Severus has realized it was just obsession and devotion, not love, that kept him after Lily. True love would have allowed him to move on earlier. It was guilt that kept him in place. What a great story, particularly as a first in this ship!
Response from floorcoaster (Author of Mea Culpa)
Oh, you put that so brilliantly! It was GUILT! Not love. Awesome! :D Thanks for the great review, I really appreciate it!

a good ending. you tied up all the loose ends nicely. and your explanation of severus's feelings for lily seems plausible. all in all, this story was a fun ride!

This is REALLY GOOD! More please and soon!
Response from floorcoaster (Author of Mea Culpa)
THANKS! I'm happy to hear you're liking it! :)
Interestng! Of course, we know we don't have to worry about Snape hurting Hermione. He's obviously working on the side of Good, since he thought Hermione was his contact, (and she would never be evil.) This is a neat beginning for a story; I am looking forward to more!

Very interesting. I can't wait to read more. (I've always thought that Severus Snape is very James Bond-ish.) Live long and prosper,

Interesting first chapter - cannot wait to see why Severus was running and from whom. The trip that they girls took sounded very fun and interesting and I like the story
Response from floorcoaster (Author of Mea Culpa)
Hello! Thank you for the review! All will be revealed in time, I assure you! The trip the girls took was based on my experiences traveling in Italy. :)
Very mysterious! You have an interesting story set up, can't wait to see what comes next.

Hi there! Thanks for the review. I'm glad you like the set-up, and hope you'll enjoy the rest!
I'm glad to see this archived here!
It's lovely to reread this and enjoy the details. I especially like the details of Snape's James Bond-like professional gear and that moment of disconnect when he realizes that Hermione isn't his contact after all.
Response from floorcoaster (Author of Mea Culpa)
Thanks! I've never posted on this site, but I've read a couple here, and I really like it.
One of my favorite sentences in the entire story is the one that introduces Snape's gun. :)
Great start! The dialogue is upbeat and your descriptions are vivid without running on for too long. I'm looking forward to more!
