I honestly can't answer you! She's not an idiot ... I guess she just didn't think it would have the effect it did. Maybe she thought it would lead to a different kind of conversation, one where he says he hoped she wouldn't have to miss him. Thanks for the review!
This is really different from the usual plot line, very enjoyable.

Interesting story. A lot of fics concentrate/assume that he does not like being a spy, but I say there may be an argument that he missed the action/adrenaline in 'everyday life'. I am now being plagued by thoughts of a James Bond -like figure (he he) Snape...Severus Snape (OK a bit cheesy).
